Phyra was jolted awake by the slight prod of a muzzle on her shoulder. Cbet, the appaloosa stallion, looked at Phyra with a knowing gaze in his brown eyes. Phyra touched Cbets mind with her own though she was sure she knew what was up. The forest smells and sounds became sharper. She could smell that it was the male elf coming back by way of the trees.
Phyra didn’t bother trying to disappear before he arrived. Instead she simply drew her sword and lay it across her lap. At the same time she sat up making her bow and quiver easy to access if she needed them.
All the horses except Cbet moved so that they were behind her. Cbet stayed close so that if she needed to mount a horse he was in easy reach.
Suddenly the male elf landed in his camp. Phyra knew she might be wrong but he looked pissed. Phyra waited for him to speak knowing he would probably want to know why she was still nearby.
