Challenge: How Many Books Are You Going to Read in a Year?

    Table of Contents

    Intent

This thread is intended to be a thread where RP'ers can list books read from the first day that they post in this thread through an entire year; the idea is to see how many books the average RP'er goes through in a year. Since this is a bit of a contest, I put it in Spam, but at the same time, this isn't really a Spam thing except that it kind of ends up here.

    Rules

    • No Trolling Over Other People's Choices. This isn't Spam. You might not like the books others are reading; that's cool, but this isn't the thread to discuss it.
    • On the other hand...this is a good thread to discuss books, what you think of the ones you've read and so forth. Recommendations are always welcome...because some of us are always shopping for books.
    • This is the books you have read starting from the first day you post in the thread; so that day next year is when challenge ends.
    • A book title only counts once -- you can reread something you read before, but it only counts once in this contest.
    • Assigned course reading/books are cool, but not textbooks. Those don't count.
    • No comics or manga or whatever else that is based on graphics.
    • Keep your list up to date on one post because I'll be linking to it. You can, however, post when you've updated -- that will be appreciated.
    • It's not hard to cheat on this, but if you do, karma will take a dump in your Wheaties. So please be honest in reporting.

    Format

Just a suggestion on how to organize one's reading list.

    Start Date: Here.

    Books
    1. Dune by Frank Herbert
    2. The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, by Douglas Adams
    3. Stranger in a Strange Land, by Robert Heinlein

    Key:

    • Strikethrough means the book is completed
    • Underline means that the book is currently being read
    • A title with no modification means its on the list to be read; it's like I know I'm definitely going to read the book next -- maybe I'm going through a trilogy or something, right?

I once read 3 books(1200 pages in total) in a period of 1 day, then have a painful sensation in my left eye for the next 5 days.

I guess I'll start. First let me go find a book somewhere in my shelf.

    Books:
1-Napoleon's Wars(author to be added when I find the book...)

When I get home from work and can edit this on a real computer instead of a tablet, I will update everyone.
