I'm experiencing some confusion as to where we and the bad guys are in relation to each other.
I was under the impression that our SUV and the car Khalid was in were pretty much next to each other, due to the ramming. I figured the van was pretty much right behind, and the guys who'd jumped out were thus not far away, and that the mention of 'from a mile away' was metaphorical, not literal.
I also understood that the civilians Jan mentioned as being 600m away were non-combatants, and not shooting in any way, and in fact were trying not to get involved.
Is that right, because in Pherni's post Zhenya mentions they're out of range? That doesn't seem right with what I understand. Can someone clear it up, because it makes a difference as to whether I'm going to shoot, or get the SUV moving to pick you all up and bug out, if they're all too far away.

I took the 'mile away' as being literal. I got pretty confused as well, but from what I get, I think Khalid's car is slightly ahead of our SUV. It's quite clear around our area, I think, with civvies 60 meters away. It's the van that I have a problem placing. They're either very close or very far. =\
Regardless, I'm going to edit my post. A literal mile sounds too...Ridiculous, and reading KK's post again, it does sound metaphorical.
