Three Lights Amongst the Stars

[Sonanoka]

Luna: *blinks* Reimu? Wow, I hardly can recognise you... ...Although, I guess it helps that I'm used to you having blonde hair now. I never expected... well, that doesn't matter; you obviously aren't Yukari's child in this world.

[Beginnings]

"Yukari's child? That... That is something that I never would have expected. None in the least." Shrugging, she took another sip of her tea. I'm surprised you'd be able to recognize an old, graying woman, though. I am not as sprightly as I was when I last saw you. Or one of you, at the least." Turning to the vampire, she asked, "So, are you going to stand there for the next week, or are you going to introduce yourself?"

Still standing stiff and upright, Muse responded. "I am Muse. My family name is quite unimportant. We are busy tracking that Martian that burst through here, so if you would..."

"Not yet. I still have some curiosity within my old soul." Finally having drained her cup, she set it before her while folding her fingers about it. "I am curious to know why you are here, Luna, child. And family names are important, Muse. They should not be forgotten for the sake of convenience. Or know you nothing of the old power?"

[Sonanoka]

Luna: Honestly, it was mere chance; we were chasing whoever it was that Muse felt it vital to chase.

[Beginnings]

"Indeed. That girl is a rather... large threat, to say the least." Glancing to the side, Muse gripped her cross. "We should be hurrying, as there is no telling where she might be now."

"Take our time. There is little that she could do to a dying land such as this." Eyes narrowing, Reimu watched the vampire carefully. "And I see that you are not answering my question."

"Is it really such an important question?"

[Sonanoka]

Luna: Again, I for one would like to know. Why be so hush-hush? It will take but a moment, and it may be informative.

[Beginnings]

"My mothers were insistent on being quite sensitive as to their names. They would not like it if I give it away, willy nilly." Muse's face tightened as she pointedly looked away. "They have weakened, and they have many enemies."

[Sonanoka]

Luna: You know, I could simply spout off last names that I know, and see if I get it right by chance.

[Beginnings]

"You may. That does not mean I will answer."

Eying the vampire, Reimu sighed. "Enough, Luna, child. Leave her be. She will tell if she so desires." Standing up, the old woman popped her bones. "Oh, I'm not long for this world. Still, I suppose I can give you enough direction. Although there is very little of this world that is left."

[Sonanoka]

Luna: I figured as much... I would imagine the Youkai Forest, Bamboo Forest of the Lost, and the Forest of Magic would be... well, completely gone. The land screams just as much as that outside the barrier, and the plant-life looks the same.

[Beginnings]

"There is that, yes, there is that." Glancing out the window, Reimu sighed. "Fortunately, that means there is very little that she cannot be seen from. What is left of the tengu and oni will keep her off the mountain..." Floating into the air, Reimu winced. "I'm too old for this... I wish that Genji was still alive. He would have been an immense help."
