The year is 2012, the month is June. The last television broadcast was 3 weeks ago. There was a massive flu pandemic, that attacked the cerebral functions of the infected. It was 100% lethal once a victim was infected. A cure was developed by Rhodes Medical Industries, and vaccinations were made available in most major cities and other heavily populated areas, weeks later the side effects were discovered...
Napa Valley is about 70 miles Northeast of San Francisco and is famous for it's fruit and wine. It has become a safe haven for refugees fleeing the city.
Napa has currently secured it borders of zombies, after dealing with the initial ones that appeared in town and now things have been relatively quiet, but unbeknownst to the townspeople waves of zombies are leaving the city due to a lack of "Fresh" food.
With the infections brought in by outsiders much of the local population has been decimated. The Mayor & the sheriff have been arguing recently about whether to allow more people in to increase the number of available hands to work the fields and assist in their defense. They have come to an agreement that all citizens whether refugees or current residents must fill out the Napa Valley Registration Form so that the people with the right skill sets are put in places where they can make the most difference.

This RP is designed to be based around the normal/every day man/woman. Special forces/ soldiers and stuff like that will not be accepted, this RP is designed to explore the average man's response to seeing his neighbor or drinking buddy die from a disease and need to killed and then deal with the aftermath. This is about a small town's response, do they retain their humanity, become socialists, revert to a hunter/gather society, who knows the choice is up to you... If this is what your interested in please post a CS and we will review it. Because this is a community think of everyday jobs for your char such as a Deputy, school teacher mechanic, gas station attendant, or farmer, well you get the idea...if you have read this far post your favorite drink in your character sheet, any CS without a drink is automatically denied until this post is read completely through.

Personal History: Ben was a local bred politician, a man who stood there for the people who were also his friends as he'd like to say. His convictions, and apparently those of the town, were as much independence from outsiders as possible. In years before he had only sat on the bandwagon of other politicians running for mayor but last year he finally found the courage to take the chance himself. But his was not to be a happy term, about a year into his tenure as mayor the dead started rising.
First weapon he reached during the pandemic: CZ Coach gun, S&S double barreled shotgun. Heirloom.

Personal History: Moved from England to America after university and began teaching history and sports at Napa Valley's exclusive academy. Professionally he teaches history but he also coaches the school's baseball team. He isn't the best at baseball but is very good at playing cricket, that's why he keeps a cricket bat at home.
Skill set: Running, blunt objects, tactical thinking, morale boosting.

Personal History: His family are the descendants of gypsies that moved to america during the holocaust. His mother died when he was born so it's mostly been him, his dad and is 3 other brothers. Darrin is the runt of the litter, by that meaning he has been the on least to juvy. His eldest brother died in a gang shoot out after being associated with some unsavory people. His other two brothers went to L.A and the last Darrin heard they were in prison.
After getting into A LOT of trouble (Vandalism, street fights, thievery) Darrin finally got a job as a mechanic from the old man that owned it, having some affinity (Hope I am using this word right) with cars and other vehicles. In his spare time he sprints and jogs. He is in tip top athletic shape. He is not exceptionally strong but he takes speed and mobility over that.

When he got back to reality, and was able to walk again he still felt he needed to do his part in keeping the town safe. He joined the Fire Department. Where he has been for the last three years before the outbreak.

Name: Misaki Fujibayashi (Aka "Miss Fuji" to most people, because they can't pronounce her last name)
Age: 29
Job before the outbreak: former JGSDF soldier who came to America to attend a culinary training program.
Personal history: Misaki is a Japanese immigrant to the US, who served in the JGSDF (Japanese Army) as an NCO. She served in disaster relief after the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami before her duties officially ended. She moved to Napa valley, hoping to learn a more peaceful job such as running a Japanese style restaurant, but the outbreak began just a week before she was set to start culinary school.
First weapons: [Dragunov SVD, scoped (seen in picture)] OR [Stoeger Coach Gun (Double Barrelled S&S Shotgun)]; Very old Mauser C96 "broomhandle" pistol (in holster in the image). These were from a gun show but she'd had them a while before the outbreak. [Also, a bayonet for the Dragunov, more likely to be used as a knife.]
