RP MANAGEMENTAlright, if you want a lasting RP, listen to me. Now remember, I don't know everything and what is in this guide may not work for all RPs or GMs. This is simply some friendly advice.
1. Plot plot plot: Now everybody loves free roam RPs, and I understand why. Barely any rules and just friendly over all. However, lets face the facts. They don't last very long. So if you want an RP to last, make a plot and stick to it.
2. Keep that OOC active: An OOC is for more then posting character sheets. It is where your RP's players talk. As long as they are talking there, you know they haven't forgotten about your RP.
3. Be easy to work with: Don't be stubborn. Let the players give you suggestions for the RP and listen. Make it clear you are there for them.
4. A Co-GM is more then a pretty face: They are supposed to fill in for you when you are gone. Which brings me to...
THE JOBS OF A GM1. Do whatever it takes: PM and VM players who haven't posted in a while, telling them to post. Throw in plot twists. Be workable.
2. You are responsible for more then plot: You also have to act as a moderator when there is a heated argument in the OOC. I'm not saying you have to get involved in every argument, but the players should be able to be comfortable in the OOC.
3. Follow your own rules: When you make rules, ask yourself if you can follow them. If you can't, then don't make it.
4. Stay in touch with your Co-GM: Your Co-GM should know most, if not all, of the plot and what you expect of them. When you are gone, they are the one keeping the RP running. Don't leave them going "Uhhhhh....".
Jobs of a Co-GM1. Use your powers sparingly: Now, as Co-GM you are technically allowed to time-skip and kick players out of the roleplay. But remember that whenever you make use of your powers, alert the GM.
2. Keep in touch with your GM: Tell them everything of note that happened in the OOC as well as the IC. You two should be an oiled machine, working in sync.
ADVICE FOR PLAYERS1. Make your posts legible: This means good grammar and spelling. And this also means not using text colors that you have to highlight to read. Especially avoid red as it hurts people's eyes.
2. Your opinion is valuable: The GM wants your input. Send them a PM if you have any suggestions or problems regarding the RP.
3. Be respectful to your fellow players and RP staff: Your GM and Co-Gm(If applicable) worked and still work hard to keep that RP going. Least you can do for them is to respect them and the other people they have accepted. Whether it is a public or private RP, you are the guest of the GM. Don't push your welcome.
