    FFX Chaotic Beginings

S.S. Fera, not that the ship was important. It was mere vessel in which to cross the sea's since any sort of mech was banned essentially, though the blast of sea wind and smell of ocean water did do wonders to calm the soul. So much so most passenger's were lulled into a false calm, but it was far from it and on the horizons was the destroyer of that calm was closer than most care to know or see. Glancing over to both of his guardians an interesting group, but blessed that they would come to help threw his cause, aiding their own in the progress. Xalis refrained from speaking that he was a summoner, though it rumor spread like wildfire that he was one because of the garb that he sported. Hearing it all the time thouse lines. "Look theres another one. He'll fail or die like the rest." He wanted to beat the hell out of them but to what end would it prove? Besides there would be no point to it anyways. Doing as he always did, ignored it. Why? Because he knew that they were wrong.

Zaph the mage, it was in Luca that he had met her. Cold and distant, he really didn't expect much of her and let it be. Though it was during attack by fiends that he found a guardian in the making. The defense milita was having trouble stimming the tide of the fiends attack, Xalis helped. Casting Cure and Protect as needed, though it wasn't enough. Not until blasts of fire, thunder and ice start destroying the fiends. Working with the woman as needed untill the events had passed. Zaph had fought with a rage, a rage that similiarly burned within his own heart. Though as seemingly as she came, Zaph was about to leave but not utill Xalis had asked her something. He had asked her to become a gurdian, a hard life but in the end a bittersweet taste. In the end she said yes.

In Kilkia Sin had attacked and its destruction was evident, though Zaph and Xalis had come in during of the night. The townsfol lay out their dead, h oping for a summoner to come and release the deceased so they wouldn't become of fiends. A spectacle was to beheld, dancing lights radiated from the resting place of the deceased. Most everyone was staring at the lights not expecting a summoner to come so quickly let alone one at all. All of them rushed to the location, but nothing was there. Xalis and Zaph were gone, continuning to the Kilika temple and to met an unexpected guest among the way.

Within the forests to the temple a raging battle was heard, by the duo. Two beast like roars echoing out, in the distance. There they were a Ronso, Xalis never seeing one ventured closer and at his side Zaph also ventured closer. The Ronso was getting weak because of the prolonged fight, his strength gathered back as Xalis casted Cure on him. Giving back renewed strength both of them fighting along side him until the Sinspawn had disppearsed. The look in his eyes were a mirror imagie of Zaph's, though he asked for a name alls he got was Orion. Orion followed henceforth, though Xalis never asked for him to be a guardian but an unspoken agreement that he was one. Strength, Magic and Life Magic, growing to be formidable.

Venturing entering the temple that very night, the three entered the colister of trials. Passing threw the fires of judgement to fayth's resting place. Looking at the entrance then to his two guardians, "Thank you." Passing threw to begin his prayers to obtain the helldog Ifirt. Two days had passed before Xalis had returned, weary but still standing. The power of fire was his, the fires lit amongst the temple blazed brighter as a summoner was born. Monks staring at the flames and then the entrance to the trials, all of which bowed. Strange since, he'd been the one always doing the bowing, actually just plain weird. Though he didn't like it, Xalis let it passed. "Tell the people hope is again rising." With a simple gesture the three left, saying what he did since not everyday a summoner was born.

Back to the boat and several hours of sleep later here he was again, basking in the sunlight and salty breeze. Taking each breath slowly savoring it before the boat was to dock soon. Relaxing on the bow before something catches his eye, getting up to stare in the distance coming from Besaid. It was here...Sin was here. The creatures fin disappearing before islands rugged terrain. "Zaph, Orion we got work to do Sin is here? We must make haste to the village." Sinspawn scattered about the docks, letting his guardians for now take the initiative. Saving Ifrit for more deepend combat

Zaphikel was enjoying a peaceful, relaxing day in the shade. She did not like soaking up sun for some reason, one reason why her skin was always a little pale. But the shade was enough. Gulls cawed peacefully as they drifted through the crisp, salty sea air. Gentle breezes brushed against Zaphy's skin and pushed back a bit of her violet-blue hair. Her hood was down now, which was not a common sight outdoors. Or even indoors. Zaphikel usually had the hood up over her head most of the time, even when eating and sleeping. Because of this, many people around her were never able to see her eyes. People have walked by her while she lay there and tried to sneak a glimpse at her eyes, but were disappointed. Nobody could see them even now, for they were closed. Overall, it was very quiet, peaceful day so far.

But then, a bunch of sinspawn had come along to ruin it. "Zaph, Orion we got work to do!" Xalis shouted. "Sin is here? We must make haste to the village."
"Figures," Zaphikel sighed, not as frustrated as she felt. "Just wonderful..." She had a pretty but distant, if not slightly melancholic voice, though she was not really the talkative type. Getting up, she put her hood back over her head, drew a cute plushie and carried it in one arm over to the front deck. Harnessing magical energies in advance before she even arrived at the deck, Zaphikel knew she would have to be prepared.

Prepared she needed to be, and prepared she was. Several ugly sinspawn crawled on the deck on insectoid legs, some fluttering beetle-like wings and readying themselves for combat as well. Zaphikel knew to keep her distance from the monstrosities, for her physical close-combat skills were not as honed as her magics. Fortunately she was always good at keeping enemies at bay with her spells. With mana already drawn from her personal magic reserves, Zaphikel discharged a lightning bolt at one of the fiends from an open hand. Knowing the creatures come from Sin; a creature dwelling in water, lightning should work best. Electricity was the opposing element to water, so if this fiend had any elemental weakness at all the black mage figured lightning was likely to be it.

If that fiend had been killed from her lightning spell, Zaphikel would cast another one at another fiend. Preferably the one nearest her summoner. But if the first fiend still lived, she would cast another bolt to fry it with. However, if the fiend was unaffected or only slightly damaged by the lightning spell, she would try one of a different element. Probably fire.

Orion stood off to the side of the boat, looking out to the sea, his war-hammer strapped to his back. The sun and salty air bothered him slightly, since it was the complete opposite of his home, but not enough to effect his abilities in combat or daily life. He was not sure as to where their next destination was, he barely even knew the summoner he now protected, yet none of that seemed to bother him. This was his ultimate chance to grow, and eventually the path would take him back home, to take his tribe back. His train of thought was broken by the shout of his summoner. "Zaph, Orion we got work to do Sin is here? We must make haste to the village."

Orion made his way around the boat and saw a large number of sin-spawn landing on the dock of the town. He let out a large Ronso roar, pulling out his war hammer and leaping onto the dock, doing a large sweep with his hammer, giving a solid hit to a number of them, well some of the faster ones managed to dodge the swing. He took up a proper fighting stance with his hammer. His summoner wanted to get the village, and that was exactly what Orion planned to make possible. He let out one more roar, and began a full on attack, attempting to clear out some of the sinspawn on the dock so there was a way to the nearby village.

Thunder cracked and sizzled the sinspawn targeted by Zaph, giving a new meaning to extra crispy to winged insectoids. Hard to believe such creatures were the scales of such an abomination, the time wasn't to think but to fight. It pained him not to be able to do as much as his guardians, but he wasn't totally helpless. As swiftly as he could he began invoking the spell, his ring glowed a luminescent blue Protect target Orion first then Zaph. Lessening any sort of damaging wound inflicted upon them;however, he couldn't target himself in time taking one of the needles lunging out from several of the creatures. Luckily it wasn't as deep or in that critical of a spot, wincing in pain for a moment before another thundering bolt scorched the said attacking creature. Nodding to Zaph leaving the wound be for now, at least until the beach was clear of the creature and they could reassume their advance to Besaid village.

The boat now clear of the creature and Orion holding the front until Zaph and himself could get down to the docks. Making way to the Ronso still astonished by his strength holding them off for their duration, letting the two guardians do their jobs so he could tend to himself. The luminescent light radiated again, cast Cure and once again Protect, feeling invigorated, like he had an extremely good nights rest. The Ronso was a bit bold, not that it was a bad thing just that he had strength in his corner, they had numbers. Though a large part of them had been dispatched, it would be something Orion would need to be able to restrain himself some. Strength after all wasn't everything, watching him clear the beachhead before the two. Looking towards Zaph, "He needs some restraint." Shaking his head following along behind him.

Behind Zaph there was another four spawn swimming in the shallows, heading for them. The pure swiftness of the abysmal creatures was staggering, they needed to be stopped and quick. A bolt of lighting to the water in the vicintiy of the creatures would dispatch them and clean up the rest of them behind Orion's wrath on the spawn. Most had fled back to either Sin or to meet up with its other spawn laying siege to the village, exiting the docks stepping aside the spawn that had fallen to either hammer or magic towards Orion. Looking both to Orion and Zaph, "Don't expel too much energy, we don't know the condition of the village. Any fiend on the way avoid it unless it is directly hindering our way." Any time wasted could be the loss of a life, a life that he felt directly responsible.

His pace turned towards a jog, Orion at the lead being the shield and Zaph at the rear as the shield. Ignoring most of the fiends found going to Besaid. Weakling creatures in all actuality but like the spawn tough in larger numbers. The fiends were the last from his mind though as in the distance he heard screams of women, children and men in the distance. At the current pace it wasn't long before they had reached the said destination and truth be told it was horrible. Xalis himself stuck in the carnage, only able to stare until either Zaph or Orion woke him from the dreamlike daze. "Do what you can, Give me the time to summon." Glancing towards both of them to assist in what way they can.

Orion continued to clash his way through the swarms of enemies creating a path for his summoner and Zaph. He had entered into a complete trance and attacked almost any creature in front of him. He tended to get this way at signs of Sin, he wanted nothing more than get revenge, and this is what his bloodlust lead him to do.

Orion took a moment to gather his mind after seeing all the destruction currently happening at the village. He then snapped back to reality as he was told to do what he could until Xalis could summon. He made his way down into the town attacking what sinspawn and fiend he could find well searching for survivors. The damage already done was beyond repair, many people were injured, if not gone completely. As time went on, a swarm of sinspawn made it's way out of one of the larger huts chasing a small child and what appeared to be its mother. Orion let out a roar in hopes getting the attention of not only the sinspawn, but also Zaph in hopes of getting backup to protect the two. He lept into the air, somewhat farther than a normal and dropped down, attempting to smash some sinspawn upon his landing, letting out yet another roar. He was begining to feel his endurance run low, but it didn't matter, he just needed to keep these people alive long enough for his summoner to finish casting his spell.

Zaphikel nodded at Xalis' order to conserve energy. She was not that high-class a mage, so her magical energies had its limits. Once she saw the sinspawn in the water she was tempted to cast a lightning bolt down on them, but she would have done so only if they were barring their bath. Although she relished in the deaths of the insectoid sinspawn, but she did not let it show. And she did not allow it to bias her judgment, either. She had cast some thunder spells here and there, and also a few of ice, but mainly on the fiends that got too close to herself, Orion, or, more importantly, the summoner. She did cast a couple of spells to defend some of the townspeople too, but she put Xalis, Orion and herself respectively at her bigger priorities. Sure she was tempted to kill more of the sinspawn, but the idea was to kill Sin him/itself. And for that to happen, the summoner had to live. For the summoner to live, Zaphy and her guardians also had to live. The rest of the sinspawn were not as big a problem, and the townsfolk were not as important.

And when Orion let out his roar, she took it for the signal for protection that it was. She unleashed another thunder thunder spell on a sinspawn that nearly grabbed the child in its pincers, instantly cooking the thing into a more crispy if not edible mess. She even began to wonder if Sinspawn would taste good when properly seasoned. If not for the stressful situation, Zaphy would have sighed at knowing there may never be a way of finding out. Sinspawn, like all fiends, would always vanish in a cloud of pyreflies when they die.

Though Xalis had three guardians Zaph the mage, the Ronso Orion and Darrian. Ahh youth, most likely at the time of the sinspawn's attack on the boat he was in the lower decks of the ship. Probably intrigued on the mechanics of such of transportation due in part to the taboo on mechana. He didn't blame him though, the kid's speed often helped out in such situations, not as strong as Orion or calculating as Zaph but the speed did help. When Xalis had called for his guardians during the sinspawn attack he called the one he could see off hand, not purposely leaving him off, just that the job had called. During the commotion he had probably heard the strafe between the three and the sinspawn, watching the trio in the distance head for the Besaid village. He had met him after Zaph, actually prior to meeting her performing a quick sending for his father and siblings. At that point he had followed Xalis until after meeting with Zaph in which he begged him to help, seeing so much of himself in the Darrian he allowed it.

Darrian being as quick as he was would be close to them entering Besaid or rather what was left of it and the order to help protect the people from the sinspawn until he could summon Ifrit. Noticing a spawn getting closer to himself, though he had to concentrate at the time at hand. Darrian would have to get him. In the corner of his eyes seeing Zaph and Orion wearing down some only by their actions, it wouldn't be long though since his hands caught fire. Not burning him but bathing him in his own convictions. The heat surging through now both of hands, shooting like one of the forbidden mechina. Plummeting to the ground before him, creating the glyph forming volcanic ground spouting up its fiery prison.

If summoners were drunk on power the aeon's would be the most powerful in their arsenal of destruction; however, he wasn't. Trapped between two clusters of rock, Ifrit broke from his prison the rock falling back into the hole from wince he came. Marveling at the creature himself for the moment, before the mental link between them connected between aeon and summoner. It's mere presence was either a warning or a get back sign, forming a ball of meteoric rock and slamming it in a snap of fingers at group of sinspawn. Crushing eight of the insectoid creatures seemingly in a moment. Its gaze turned towards Orion and Zaph as a group of spawn closed in around them, seemingly out of thin air each of them caught flame. Scorching them to a cinder, the rest of the spawn meeting the same fate as those that got close to Zaph and Orion. Finishing the rest of and sending them back to oblivion.

Once the creatures had been destroyed Ifrit stayed for a moment before turning into flames and disappearing before the eyes of everyone. Leaving Xalis weakened falling to one knee, having to prop himself up with one hand. Not expecting such power, having to catch his breath. Guardians were first to come naturally. "Everyone all right?" Struggling to get up, having to utilize his guardian's help to get back up. "We need to get to the temple Zaph, Orion." Looking at them. Turning towards Darrian, "Tell the survivor's I will perform the sending once I emerge from the trials. Then meet with me and the others in the temple." Leaving with Zaph and Orion to the inside of the temple, waiting for Darrian to return to them so the trials would begin.

Orion was greatly surprised by the power of the summoners beast. Orion had not seen anything like it before, and it gave him great comfort that it fought on his side instead of against him. As the summon vanished, Orion quickly made his way to his summoner, giving him assistance in helping him up as he seemed weak from the energy it took to summon the power creature. He proceeded to walk towards the temple, assisting his summoner when necessary. Orion entered the temple and took a look around. He had little understanding of what actually was involved in these houses or worship, or even what went on that allowed a summoner to receive the creatures he would summon. As a gaurdian, he probably should have learned these things, but it never actually concerned him, he knew he had to get his summoner through the trails, and that was all that actually concerned him. He made his way towards the entrance to the trails and glanced back at the group. He did not know what to expect next, but he still went to the entracne and stood in wait for his summoner to be prepared to face what lied ahead.

The surge and adrenaline of the fight with the sinspawn, raced through Darrian like a wildfire, after Ifirit destroyed them all - he could not believe such a power existed within the world, let alone summon such a beast, but what was now surprising to Darrian was the fact that i fought along side them - 'who was controlling who?' he thought

Darrian withdrew his blades back into the sheaths on his back and took a deep breathe, 'never before have i had a fight like that before; he continued to think, he also took note of his fellow companions of their skills and he was very impressed at what they can do, he hoped he could deliver the same standards they did within the fight. Darrian thought he could take out enemies that Orion may miss or somehow escape the reach oh his weapon, due to his speed or cause a distraction so that Zaph could take them out with a group spell or something - 'hehe tactics' he thought as he let out a small chuckle

Walking to the temple, Darrian noticed just how much damage the sinspawn had did to the small village - houses destroyed leaving nothing but rubble, the land scrotched meaning nothing will grow in the future - and hoped that whoever was left, could rebuild their homes and lives, but to Daarians surprise, the temple hadn't taken much damage considering the enemy - guess these temples need to be sturdy to survive most encounters with Sin and its spawn

Upon walking inside the temple, most of the villagers were sat consoling each other as well as praying for the fallen, he had seen this scene before, back at his village where he and a handful of others were the only survivors and knew exactly how these people were felling. Darrian paused for a moment and prayed for the fallen too - too many innocent had died - once he had finished praying, Darrian proceed to join the other Guarians by the entrance of the trials

"Lets hope, that we can destroy sin eh?" said Darrian while looking at the surviving villagers

After the battle was over, Zaph followed her summoner to the temple. On the way there, she glanced about the village. The damage the sinspawn had caused was awful. Just awful, Zaphikel mused to herself. Unforgivable. Homes destroyed, people killed, corpses thrown all over the place like rag dolls, devastation could be seen in all directions. Zaphikel was not one to pray, but she did enter the temple with just as much respect as one who did would. In a sense, Yevon seemed to be the answer to it all. Summoners practiced the art of summoning, which would eventually lead them calling forth to the final aeon, which would defeat Sin. It would not kill Sin permanently, but it would vbe enough to bring a fair, long respite to the people. It began to make Zaph wonder why Sin would always return. What made him come back every single time after he was destroyed? Have the people not yet suffered enough for defying the teachings of Yevon? And what of those people who had done nothing to violate the teachings? Why did they have to suffer as well? Was that right? To Zaph, it made no sense.
