Huge problems have been reported of entire posts/threads disappearing from the forum.

If you're more technically inclined: I think it has to do with bad indexes on our 15gb database table of posts and threads. I'm going to try and tackle this and the broken email system this weekend.

Our members put immense effort into their collaborations and interactions on this forum -- the very purpose of this community -- and the possibility of those efforts disappearing is unacceptable. The good news is that "missing" posts and threads are still in the database. They just aren't getting picked up for whatever reason when the forum asks the database things like "What were the last 100 threads in the Off-Topic Forum?"

I'm talking with vBulletin support. Hopefully I figure it out soon.

Finally, I do have some solutions outlined in the event of a worst case scenario (if vBulletin support can't help). So the future isn't so glib. It's just a temporary depression.

In the meantime, thanks for dealing with me and my worn out vBulletin sidekick.
