    The Walking Dead

    [OOC]

It is one week after the first infection, and unfortunately for the residents of Roswell, Georgia (you survivors) the walking dead have dispersed from Atlanta and are already knocking on some of the outskirt house’s doors. What radio broadcasts you’ve heard haven’t been pretty. The army is too occupied with trying to keep the dead inside Atlanta (which they obviously failed to do, as you can see) to send help to you. Looks like you’re on your own for now. Good luck.

Astra sat on the floor in front of the couch, her brother had already told her to stay away from the windows and the door. She was flipping through the book she'd taken from the library when he'd come to get her, 'Wild Plants You Can Eat', good thing she'd been looking at it, now it seemed it might actually come in very handy. She tucked it back in her backpack and drew her knees up to her chest, wrapping her arms around her legs as she looked towards the windows. They were out there, she could hear those awful, blood curdling screams they made, and the people running away from them. Astra wasn't sure what was going on still, but she knew it wasn't good and that people didn't act like that normally, something was seriously wrong, but her brother hadn't told her much yet. When he picked her up from school he'd just told her to stay with him, it was dangerous and they were going home. She pulled the picture from her bag of their family and clutched it close, wondering if their parents were alright in New York. Mother was a doctor and dad was a lawyer, they worked too much and by the time Astra had come along they really hadn't had much time for another child, so her brother wound up taking care of her for the most part. She glanced towards him, wondering what they were going to do now that they were back at the apartment. She didn't really feel too safe there, even with the door shut, those things were still outside.

"Dammit to hell!" Scout yelled, brandishing his metal baseball bat. It served him well in his coaching days, and it surely was living up to it's reputation. It has only been a week since the infection began, and he and his little sister was holed up in their little flat. They were starting to get low on provisions, and Scout knew he was going to have to make a run for a nearby market. "You want some of this, buddy? Come get some!" he yelled, flipping the bird to a zombie, who was trying to get through a barricaded window. Absently, he looked at his sister, wondering how she was taking things. He didn't tell her about what was going on, considering it was hard to believe. He didn't want to have this knowledge either, but he had to be the 'brave' older brother. Sighing, he started towards the door, not noticing that the zombie was still alive.

Even after the meal, they were still hungry. The five of them wandered out of the corner store, covered in blood. One man walked up to them, and said "You okay?" they then leaped on him, tearing him apart. Across town, one heard a gunshot. As if by magic, he shumbled toward it ever so slowly, so carefully, until he found others. Then as a group they all marched toward the sound.

Over at Scout's house, the walker who tried to get in the window was greeted with a bash on the head, and he fell into the flower bed and bled all over the roses, and the turning his head to Scout. He tried to attack, but he was stuck in the rose thorns.

Thomas was up in his attic, sitting on the lawn chair he had brought up there and sipped some of his root beer as he listened to the moans and wails of the recently risen undead. the psychological warfare of that one sound that they made scared him, and he had watched them for acouple days and realized their mobility was limited to running and shuffling, so he came up here. he had already given up hope on his parents returning from work, they were probably part of the undead ranks now.
    and he was stuck...

Darren curled up on the roof, the radio next to him repeating the same frustatingly vague message: "We are doing our best", basically.

But their best wasn't enough. Not for the first time that day, heck, even that hour, he dialled his boyfriend's number with the expert precision of practice, all of the expertise of his sixteen years.

No answer. The third time in a row, no answer. He'd been fine when he called this morning, he'd been there.. Darren slipped the phone back into his pocket, shaking. He wouldn't cry, not until he was sure, not until he knew the battery hadn't just run out..

Standing, he stared over the city, using the altitude of his perch to his advantage.
"From the begining of Eternity to the end of Time and Space, I am everywhere, in every Time, and every Place. Part of Death and the last breath of Life, I am essential to Essence and the last of all Strife."

    Who am I?

Eli woke up to the sound of a walker scratching at the shop door. Weakly, he struggled to his feet and instantly a jolt of pain shot up to his head. Fuckin' hangover... he thought. He looked around on the counter for some pain medicine, and found an empty bottle of Advil. Damn. Gonna have to make a run for the market. But first I gotta deal with that guy. He reached for the wrench that now doubled as self-protection and approached the door. He reached for the door handle, but then he hesitated for a second. He didn't know how many were out there, and if he opened the door he could become someone's afternoon meal. As quietly as he could he made his way to the back door and looked out the window. Nothing. Eli quickly grabbed his dirty backpack from the floor and went out the door, wrench in hand. It wasn't long after he came upon one of the town's only markets. He approached the door, but stopped and hid behind an empty car in the lot. There were a lot of walkers up there. He stayed there, crouched down behind the car, and cursed to himself. He needed that pain medicine.
Thanks to Lillian Thorne for the awesome sig!

Scout rushed out of their flat like a bat out of hell, his bat swinging through the air like crazy. Hurriedly, he looked around his yard, looking for any signs of a zombie hord. Not seeing any, he raced down the road, towards the market district. His lithe body was made for running, so he doesn't tire easily. Looking around, he spotted the district, a small cluster of shops in their own little corner.

The air was dusty and smelt of rotten flesh. Scrunching his nose, Scout ran towards the nearest car he could, peeking around at the large horde of zombies 'guarding' the door. Feeling bold, he ran from behind his cover, strutting arrogantly. "Come get me bitches!" he yelled, grinning in his own cocky way. He was ready to bolt, though. Behind the car, he spotted an empty van near the supply ware house. He was planning to make a run for the van, jump on the hood, and somersault onto the roof of the warehouse. He was sure he could break the tin that was guarding the roof of the warehouse from rain.

Drake was in his house holding a picture of his currently missing girlfriend. He had been up for hours and had barely any sleep for a week. He couldn't stop thinking about it. Was she alive, dead, or whatever the hell those things were outside. "I can't just stand here and think about this shit! I need to find her; wondering is just going to kill me before those things do!" he got up and put his picture in his wallet and grabbed a bag filling with a few cans of food and a med kit. He went into his garage and picked up his wood cutting ax then looked at the garage door. It made allot of noise and these things seem to be drawn to noise like moths to a flame. He clicked the button to lift the door then went back into the actual house and ran out the back door while they were distracted. "I'm going to find you I promise" said Drake under his breath.
I'm known as the trickster for a reason focus to much on the cards and I promise you won't like the surprises I have in store.

Eli was just about to head back home (the shop was his home now), when he saw someone running out into the middle of the parking lot. He immediately knew that it was another survivor because he just yelled at the walkers. Idiot... he thought to himself. But then he realized that that guy's idiocy is the key to Eli's survival. I could help the guy out, or I could let him lure the walkers away... He debated in his head whether or not he should help this guy out. His yelling would surely bring more walkers and be the perfect distraction for Eli to sneak in, get the pain meds and get out before they noticed. Hell, maybe he could even get some water and food while he's there. Sorry guy, but it's survival of the fittest now. Eli darted for the shop, and when he entered, he ran straight for the pharmacy area.
