I just have to ask a stupid question, are gods and ascended different things?
Like, Lolth is a god and Saveto is an ascended?
I've just been thinking about it, mostly because my two Drow's come from a different world (or whatever you want to call it) and there she is a god or are they all ascended in this RP?

Pointedly, I think the Ascended in this setting actually have the potential to be more powerful than the operational definition for gods in a setting like D&D.

Ascended are home to this world. So Lolth has less power here and her followers are not privvy to information other Ascended will have. However, they (followers/mortals) are still subject to the casting "affects" as anyone of this world is.

So they are at somewhat of a disadvantage. They do not have a following here for support, their gods are, for all extensive purposes, blind here.

However, it is a bit of an advantage in that no Ascended here know anything of them or their past.

So while I use the terms intermittently, I need to stop, because a god is a god, and an Ascended is an Ascended. I apologize.

Now, in the event Lolth became an Ascended, that would be different. But she's not.

So there are Ascended, the "local" gods of this realm/world and then other gods from other worlds, who CAN be freely worshipped, but have no means to become an Ascended really.

Terminal, I agree, but like I keep stressing, it's a...game? I dunno if that's the right term, but I guess best stated, there is the POTENTIAL to have a shit ton more power than most other gods from other settings, but at the same time, there is the OPPOSITE end of the spectrum also... A god could have VERY little compared to most other gods or Ascended.
