Lord
Name: Swain (Shoryu)
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Domain: Infernal Magic [Dealing with demon-related magic, summoning, contracts, and the like][Just for fun I'll describe some of his abilities below =P]
Example spells:
Infernal Seal: A Circular area of ground becomes infused with Infernal energy, taking a moment to prepare, but when It releases It strikes everything In the area with a Destructive Infernal Force.
Infernal Talons: It has a similar shape to Infernal Seal, and can infact be combined at the cost of greater energy usage, And it Causes great Rending Talons to stab up from the ground at targets in the circle, attempting to impale or Grab and pin them down for a time.
Note: Being in a weakened state, the above effects can only strike an area of about 2 Meter Diameter, and Will last for just a couple of seconds.
Infernal Curse: A Ball of Infernal Fire is launched from Swain's Staff to Strike a target and Wreath them in flames that will burn them for a time, but also weaken various defenses if they are not reinforced against Infernal powers.
Note: He can plant his staff in the ground and Remote cast spells that would require Channeling through it.
Aspect of the Raven Lord: This Spell Twists Swain's very existence to be A connection to the Plane's of Hell Where his Chosen 'Familiars' Reside. This Transforms his body to become Partially Demonic, taking on a Large Raven Half Form, Making his body Stronger and more durable, though not faster, Giving him a thick cloak of Feathers that can be used as a shield, And Greatly Increases the power of his Raven Summoning Spells. However, Every second spent in this form Drains increasing ammounts of his energy.
Note: He cannot use this form yet because of the low power level we start off with, Expect it to make an appearance after some power growth has taken place.
Second Note: In Raven Form he 'will' Devour parts of an enemy if they make it possible to do so.
Summon Lesser Infernal Raven Flock: These Ravens Control a Dangerous Life-draining power in their very being, Sapping life from Targets they attack and transfering that energy back to their master to make him stronger and increase his lifespan as well. These Ravens are Demonic Spirits, as such they cannot be 'killed' by Normal Weapons, however even moderate Physical damage, say, being stabbed by a pitch-fork or a couple of arrows, Will destabilize their presence in this plane and forcibly un-summon them.
Note: At present he can only Summon a Flock of 10-15 of these with one spell, And they are quite fragile
Devourer of Souls: Being fused with a demon more or less makes human souls a tasty snack and a source of power for him, He draws energy from the souls of those he slays
Soul Capture: A Different Spell he has been working on, Rather than simple Devouring and destroying a soul, He seeks to capture them and use each one as a renewable resource from which to draw power, though it is not an easy process to master [aka, he can't do it 'yet' xD]
Color on Map: Purple [Since most of the map 'is' green xD]
Starting location: North-west of Byaba, At the Ari'a Lake [or whatever it's name actually is XD]
Starting forces: If I overdo it just lemme know =P
Krag
30x Raven Imps [Capable of flight, High speed, And 'Miniscule' Life draining][Note: Their life-draining effect only applies to themselves]
5 Raven Guard Archers [Similar to the Imps, But human sized, Use bows, and being that they fight at Range the Life draining effect won't be involved.]
While you may summon or recruit more troops later on, you begin with a group of Imp minions, and some weak troops. Keep this within reason please. The towns should require a bit more than your starting force to conquer or raze, though if a few of you banded together at the beginning Lorvew could fall.
Personality: He gives off an Air of absolute emotionlessness, Displaying an Ambition for power, with desire and skill to acquire it in vast quantities. Granted his time merged with a demon, a creature Ripe with emotion, has Greatly softens his perfectly Stoic nature, though he Thoroughly maintains the 'appearance' of Feeling nothing and seeing other creatures as mere pieces on a Chess board. He is however Extremely intelligent, Quite Wise, and a Master Tactician, Regardless of his opinions of the value of another creatures life, he see's the value in all things, Including the vast quantities of squishy humans. His ambition is War, To steep the world in an endless war that will supply an infinite stream of fresh souls and Chaos to empower the dark forces, How he brings this to being depends on those who get in his way.
Part 2: In His Demon Raven Form however he isn't able to maintain the general Emotionless appearance he prefers as the Emotions and bloodlust grow too strong. In this form he is far less 'humane' often brutally killing whatever he calls an enemy, Even going so far as to Eat pieces of them for extra energy and Psychological Effect on other Enemies.
Bio: Swain was once a Great Tactician in ages long past, He served a great king who's War-time success was due in no small part to Swain's Natural Expertise, yet this king was a spiteful Paranoid Fool by the time he grew old. Something in him Compelled him to See his own key Tactician as an enemy, and he seeked to have Swain executed without proper reason, This succeeded, yet as he was forced, at the time powerless, on his knees at the chopping block, Time seemed to slow and freeze. Before Swain appeared a demon, a wicked Raven-like beast that offered him the chance for revenge in exchange for his Soul, He replied with a wickedly Cold tone that even inspired a shiver in the demon "I have no use for pitiful urges such as Revenge of bloodlust... However, I 'will' accept your offer for an option to retaliate in turn for this Betrayal... I will Balance the Equation of this Travesty"
The demon took that as an acceptance and for the time Merged Physically with swain, and when the Time slowing ran out, screams Filled the court-yard as Life-draining Flames Erupted from The Execution Block. He went on a Violent Rampage through the Kingdom, His Naturally Emotionless state twisted by the demon's own bloodlust and rage merging with it, And Ultimately Found himself Devouring the Leftover of the King he once Served before the Betrayal. Swain however was no fool even when Clouded by a demon's influence, He was one of the Sharpest Strongest Minds in the world, and for him it was no difficult task to see that the timing of the Demon's appearance was too perfect, It had clearly orchestrated the event to claim a powerful Soul for himself.
The Demon was as foolish as the people he'd corrupted, and once they 'returned' to hell, after vengeance had taken place, The demon, Thinking he'd won what he desired, Let his guard down. Swain Attacked then, From within, Crushing the Demon's own will with his own, Outmatching a soul stealer with the mind of a man who saw other's as mere pawns, Who was responsible for countless Thousands of deaths, And saw life itself as one massive infinity spanning war-game. With the demon's Mind crippled Swain took over 'their' body, and forced the Raven out, Using the newly found power to Seal it into the form of a Rather Large Feral Raven. After this he went on doing as he had done in the human realm, Building an Army, Leading them against nearby Rivals, And staking Claim to a Sizeable Domain before he Took a Defensive Action and Sealed off his new 'realm' from the rest of hell, Setting about ensuring it's self reliance before considering expanding farther.
Great lengths of time passed, Swain using powers of the Ravens he learned to use to extend his life-time for a vast length of time, but his Ambitions of claiming all of hell began to crumble as the powers of Chaos Weakened. He saw the connection quickly, With evil banished to hell, The Human realm grew more peaceful, and without a source of Chaos the power of demons and overlords Waned with every passing day. He thought that a normal demon would find it insulting, the possibility that their power relied on Humans being alive and violent towards eachother, He on the other hand began to see them as a resource, Why slaughter them all when you can Turn them against eachother in moderation, Manipulate them to create an endless war. This plan is one he brings with him as he enters the mortal realm again, Though he disdains the loss of the vast power he held in hell, With a few trusted Generals present in his domain he could focus his efforts on Creating a Renewable Resource of power.
Other:
Nameless: A strange 6 Eyed raven that is ALWAYS with him, no matter where he goes it seems to appear, whether it's riding his shoulder or flying along side if he's too busy to stand still. It is not much of a threat alone, about as much as a normal over-sized Raven would be, though infused with Swain's magic it is capable of channeling his magic in a few ways he normally couldn't. It 'has' a name, but he doesn't utter it aloud to anyone but the raven itself.
Undying: Numerous occasions of the raven being slain have been seen and it always comes back, implying that perhaps it is some sort of soul-bound servant that will never Dye unless it's Master, Swain, Dies as well.
Cripple: The Raven is a source of dark power itself, though it is not capable of magical attacks alone, when directed and powered by Swain it can project a beam from it's maw, When contacting a target it will Cause devastating pain, Though the beam itself does not damage them, the act of bodily contractions and spasms from pain may result in the target harming themselves or someone else nearby. It can be resisted by someone with a strong enough Will however. [Basically, It's just another spell that happens to need channeling through the Raven to be used at long range, It still takes it's energy from the Overlord]
Staff of the Raven Lord: His personal and normally only weapon on hand, It can be dangerous in melee, But It's true threat is in channeling Infernal Magic. It can be planted in order to remote cast Infernal spells that require the staff to use in the first place, or to Channel something While his body is busy else-where. [Note: It only applies to his spells, he can't make the staff summon Minions, Note I imagine Minion status does not apply to temporary Summons that qualify as a trap or an attack.]
