IC is here.
Look at them. Carefree. Frolicking without fear, these people have nothing to truly worry about. Isn't that simply disgusting? We were driven back before, but while the forces of good spent their time resting, enjoying their victory, we were tempering ourselves for the next assault on the Overworld. Those foolish humans have not seen serious conflict for ages, and they grow weak. The time to strike is now.
The land of Elysia hasn’t seen better days. Since the Dark Lords were vanquished to hell, war has fled hand in hand with famine. The seals that held them there have weakened though, and are ready to break. The major cities have fairly peaceful relations, but still maintain small standing armies, as minor conflicts still arise. This is the land that you must conquer. Which of you will emerge victorious is yet to be determined. Your greatest threat may not be the forces of good.
Prosperity : High
It’s located in the northern plains, and survives off of grazing animals and farming. It boasts the strongest cavalry of the land, but is fairly isolated, with its only major road heading towards Blackwell. The plains surrounding Highborough are sparsely populated by farmers and ranchers.
Prosperity : Medium
Blackwell survives off of trade, acting as the primary connection for Highborough to sell its goods, while shiping to Courtwald and Ormarsh. It’s military is focused on protecting the roads and shipping lanes, capable of little other than peace keeping.
Prosperity : Low
Courtwald exists for no reason other than the precious metals found in the nearby hills. It provides a hub for the nearby mines and taverns for failed prospectors.
Prosperity : Medium
Ormarsh provides a sheltered port for ships, as well as a last stop before entering Getenden forest from the North. The forests have several small villages scattered throughout them, though the marsh to the south-east end of it is largely uninhabited.
Prosperity : Medium
Shadowfield is aptly named, lying in the shadow of Mount Sowik. The town survives due to the same reason as Courtwald, the precious metals found nearby. The hills around Shadowfield are dark though. Prospectors and miners come to drink to drown the memory of fellow workers dying or disappearing more often than they drink to drown their failures.
Prosperity : High
Aldshire is the hub o the local archipelago. The local islands hold many smaller towns, and locals are often employed to guide ships through to Lorvew or Alden.
Prosperity : Medium – High troop count
Bekden’s main export is lumber, due to the surrounding woods. It also provides the main trade connection to Whitel and Fallyn. Bekden has some of the most skilled heavy infantry in the land. Bekden has tense relations with the city Alden.
Alden : Medium – High troop count
Alden is the southern hub of Getenden forest. It is home to many more daring traders, who would try to venture through the Getenden by land, or through the Aldshire archipelago by sea. It has some of the most skilled bowmen of Elysia, and tense relations with Bekden.
Whitel and Fallyn
Prosperity : High
These two cities together are the capitol of magic in Elysia. Both contain large magic academies, and compete over discoveries. The surrounding area is not only home to small villages, but also contains scattered laboratories, where magi may experiment with…darker, arts, such as necromancy.
Prosperity : Low – Low troop count
Lorvew is a small town, with barely a timber wall. It exists as a focus of trade for the surrounding areas, and as a resting point for sailors. The surrounding hills are sparsely populated by both people and trees, and the town maintains very little guard.
Prosperity : Medium
Byaba has rich farmlands, being located in the delta of the Ari’a River. It also functions as a haven for sailors taking the long route between Bekden, Whitel, and Fallyn and Aldshire.
You need power to stay in the mortal realm. This power is supplied by a crystal 'Shard' which acts as a focus and connection back to the underworld. If this is destroyed, you will lose your power and be in danger of being forced back to the underworld.
Creating New Creatures:
Creating new minions takes time and effort. Your avatar must be dedicated to this task, and will be unable to manage their domain during this time. You must use your shard to focus your energy and create new creatures. The time it takes to create minions is measured with a simple Fibonacci sequence, 1,1,2,3,5,8,13... etc. Your first minion, the imp, is already created for you. Your second, then, will take one post to create, while your third will take 2, fourth will take 3, fifth 5, sixth 8 etc. Your later minions may be more powerful than your earlier ones.
*NOTE: Posts are all posts, not only your posts*
*NOTE: This only applies to creating new forms of minions, and as a loose guide for recruitment speed. (eg: You can recruit / summon / create more of your first minion than your second and so on.)*
The creation of generals is a similar process to that of minions. Generals control your minions, and can manage your realm while you are incapacitated. The sequence for general is 2 * the proper number in the sequence. For example, your first general will take two posts, your second two posts, your third four, fourth six, etc. (2*(1,1,2,3,4,8,13...)).
*NOTE: Posts are all posts, not only your posts*
*NOTE: This rule applies to each general created, unlike minion creation.*
Player Controlled Minions:
Player minions are more powerful than typical minions. They may act as generals, commanding other minions, and enabling you to control more troops. Player controlled minions require a connection to a lord to remain in Elysia, as they do not have a direct connection to maintain themselves.
You may play as either a lord or a minion. Lords are the powerful commanders sent to conquer the mortal realm. The mortal realm is still held by the forces of good, so your powers are weakened. As such, only a small force may be taken with you into Elysia. You are advised to create generals, special, more powerful versions of minions, to command your troops, prevent them from fleeing from battle, and running amok. Player controlled minions can also be used for this purpose.
Domain: Speciality in magic, what kind of magic do you do best? (Ex: Fire, dark, lightning, fear, etc.)
Color on Map: What color you want to be on the map.
Starting location: Where you and your first minions choose to appear. I will add these to the map as more people join.
Starting forces: While you may summon or recruit more troops later on, you begin with a group of Imp minions, and some weak troops. Keep this within reason please. The towns should require a bit more than your starting force to conquer or raze, though if a few of you banded together at the beginning Lorvew could fall.
Minion - Note, minions require lords to sustain them, make sure you find employment.
Rules and Reminders:
1) Basic forum rules apply, of course.
2) Please keep troops and their numbers reasonable. The first minion you create will not be all powerful, nor will you have armies of them.
2a) You need to find a reasonable explanation for how you care for your troops. (Feed, house) You do not need to go too in depth for this.
2b) All lords start off with 30 imps.
3) The larger the army, the less precise control you have over them. You can increase your control by creating generals and employing player minions.
4) Your presence is yet unknown to Elysia. Use this to your advantage.
5) I reserve the right to edit this post, and add or change rules as required.
6) Please include a count of all your troops at the end of any IC posts. A summary of any resources that you have would also be advised, but is not mandatory.
7) Enjoy your stay.
Appearance: http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l.../Evil_Lord.jpg Wheres this mask into battle: http://www.trueswords.com/images/pro...r_mask_540.jpg except it covers his entire head not just the front
Color on Map: Dark Red
Domain: Dark magic (such as putting illusions before the mind, draining life, Drawing shadows around him etc.)
Starting location: That little Island to the left of Aldshire Dark castle above (http://www.phoenixbit.com/site/galle...darkcastle.jpg) for appearances and his own quarters and maybe a few trusted generals. But the underground caverns and dug out areas is where the evil work is done.
Starting forces: Imps (http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs12/i/20...d_Creature.jpg), Trolls not as warriors but as smiths (http://cghub.com/files/Image/282001-.../032_large.jpg) yup thats my smiths cute little things aren't they? they can fight though the SUCK at it.
Personality: Cold and calculating Todari is just biding his time, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. Todari has been waiting for centuries for the right time to build up his forces and attack as such he has unbelievable patience. Cruel and sadistic Todari actually takes joy in draining the life from his victims to extend his own (the way it works is if the persons was gonna live another 100 years and Todari drains their life he gains that 100 years).Todari does not take being slighted well and will vow vengeance on the inside while on the outside he appears calm not insulted and willing to make peace. He is also extremely cautious almost to a paranoid point
Bio: I may put one up if I can think of a suitable one
Other: The imps are used for everything from battle to mining hunting to gathering etc. Todari is not the type of lord to hide while his troops attack, no he is on the front lines usually with a shield of darkness around him blocking most projectiles. High skill with a sword and shield, fairly good skill in hand to hand, and High skill with herbs and poisons. He has almost superhuman strength and speed, and quick reflexes.
She appears normal, just like any human. She, however has a very pale skin tone and seems to be ethereal and a blackish aura seems to emanate from her. She wears a long black dress, complete with choker, high heeled boots and gloves. She also carries a black, elegant runed sword at her hip.
Domain: Darkness and all it's various forms. (Blades, fogs, flames, etc) She is also an expert swordswoman
Color on Map: Brown
Starting location: Above Shadowfield in the middle of the fog(?)
Starting forces: Mord, 30 Imps? (I can lower it since I start with Mord or not, whatevs. xD )
Personality: Bloodthirsty and lethal. She finds fast friends in creatures as vicious as she herself is. She is also rather seductive which she uses to her advantage.
Bio: A powerful dutchess of darkness known for manipulating items, weapons, weather (like fog and storms), flames and other uses for her powers. She prefers to do the mayhem herself rather than letting her minions, and her current general Mord have all the fun. She employed Mord with promises of extreme violence and perhaps other favors if he served her well. That seemed to intriuge him well enough since all he seemed to care about was killing, which she liked. A lot.
Name: Draco (Patriot)
Appearance: Long dark brown hair going to his shoulders, small brown beard, blood red shoes, and dark brown clothes. He also has a light brown cape with a strange
symbol on it.
Domain: Dragonic Magic, one of the forbidden magics. Basicly control over blue flame powers. He can also transform his hands into claws and get dragon wings.
Color on Map: Dark Blue
Starting location: Outside of Bekden I guess :P (unless that town is like really hard to conquer, then I'd take a more easy one)
Starting forces: 30 imps. 10 have short swords,10 others have 2 knives and the last 10 have bows. They also wear light iron armour.
Other: He carries a sword,2 crossbows in his belt, red orbs that can erupt into a stream of flames, brown orbs that can explode upon contact into smoke screens
and black orbs that explode upon contact. Also a clawshot under his right sleeve and a hidden knife under his left.
Name: Swain (Shoryu)
Domain: Infernal Magic [Dealing with demon-related magic, summoning, contracts, and the like][Just for fun I'll describe some of his abilities below =P]
Infernal Seal: A Circular area of ground becomes infused with Infernal energy, taking a moment to prepare, but when It releases It strikes everything In the area with a Destructive Infernal Force.
Infernal Talons: It has a similar shape to Infernal Seal, and can infact be combined at the cost of greater energy usage, And it Causes great Rending Talons to stab up from the ground at targets in the circle, attempting to impale or Grab and pin them down for a time.
Note: Being in a weakened state, the above effects can only strike an area of about 2 Meter Diameter, and Will last for just a couple of seconds.
Infernal Curse: A Ball of Infernal Fire is launched from Swain's Staff to Strike a target and Wreath them in flames that will burn them for a time, but also weaken various defenses if they are not reinforced against Infernal powers.
Note: He can plant his staff in the ground and Remote cast spells that would require Channeling through it.
Aspect of the Raven Lord: This Spell Twists Swain's very existence to be A connection to the Plane's of Hell Where his Chosen 'Familiars' Reside. This Transforms his body to become Partially Demonic, taking on a Large Raven Half Form, Making his body Stronger and more durable, though not faster, Giving him a thick cloak of Feathers that can be used as a shield, And Greatly Increases the power of his Raven Summoning Spells. However, Every second spent in this form Drains increasing ammounts of his energy.
Note: He cannot use this form yet because of the low power level we start off with, Expect it to make an appearance after some power growth has taken place.
Second Note: In Raven Form he 'will' Devour parts of an enemy if they make it possible to do so.
Summon Lesser Infernal Raven Flock: These Ravens Control a Dangerous Life-draining power in their very being, Sapping life from Targets they attack and transfering that energy back to their master to make him stronger and increase his lifespan as well. These Ravens are Demonic Spirits, as such they cannot be 'killed' by Normal Weapons, however even moderate Physical damage, say, being stabbed by a pitch-fork or a couple of arrows, Will destabilize their presence in this plane and forcibly un-summon them.
Note: At present he can only Summon a Flock of 10-15 of these with one spell, And they are quite fragile
Devourer of Souls: Being fused with a demon more or less makes human souls a tasty snack and a source of power for him, He draws energy from the souls of those he slays
Soul Capture: A Different Spell he has been working on, Rather than simple Devouring and destroying a soul, He seeks to capture them and use each one as a renewable resource from which to draw power, though it is not an easy process to master [aka, he can't do it 'yet' xD]
Color on Map: Purple [Since most of the map 'is' green xD]
Starting location: North-west of Byaba, At the Ari'a Lake [or whatever it's name actually is XD]
Starting forces: If I overdo it just lemme know =P
30x Raven Imps [Capable of flight, High speed, And 'Miniscule' Life draining][Note: Their life-draining effect only applies to themselves]
5 Raven Guard Archers [Similar to the Imps, But human sized, Use bows, and being that they fight at Range the Life draining effect won't be involved.]
While you may summon or recruit more troops later on, you begin with a group of Imp minions, and some weak troops. Keep this within reason please. The towns should require a bit more than your starting force to conquer or raze, though if a few of you banded together at the beginning Lorvew could fall.
Personality: He gives off an Air of absolute emotionlessness, Displaying an Ambition for power, with desire and skill to acquire it in vast quantities. Granted his time merged with a demon, a creature Ripe with emotion, has Greatly softens his perfectly Stoic nature, though he Thoroughly maintains the 'appearance' of Feeling nothing and seeing other creatures as mere pieces on a Chess board. He is however Extremely intelligent, Quite Wise, and a Master Tactician, Regardless of his opinions of the value of another creatures life, he see's the value in all things, Including the vast quantities of squishy humans. His ambition is War, To steep the world in an endless war that will supply an infinite stream of fresh souls and Chaos to empower the dark forces, How he brings this to being depends on those who get in his way.
Part 2: In His Demon Raven Form however he isn't able to maintain the general Emotionless appearance he prefers as the Emotions and bloodlust grow too strong. In this form he is far less 'humane' often brutally killing whatever he calls an enemy, Even going so far as to Eat pieces of them for extra energy and Psychological Effect on other Enemies.
Bio: Swain was once a Great Tactician in ages long past, He served a great king who's War-time success was due in no small part to Swain's Natural Expertise, yet this king was a spiteful Paranoid Fool by the time he grew old. Something in him Compelled him to See his own key Tactician as an enemy, and he seeked to have Swain executed without proper reason, This succeeded, yet as he was forced, at the time powerless, on his knees at the chopping block, Time seemed to slow and freeze. Before Swain appeared a demon, a wicked Raven-like beast that offered him the chance for revenge in exchange for his Soul, He replied with a wickedly Cold tone that even inspired a shiver in the demon "I have no use for pitiful urges such as Revenge of bloodlust... However, I 'will' accept your offer for an option to retaliate in turn for this Betrayal... I will Balance the Equation of this Travesty"
The demon took that as an acceptance and for the time Merged Physically with swain, and when the Time slowing ran out, screams Filled the court-yard as Life-draining Flames Erupted from The Execution Block. He went on a Violent Rampage through the Kingdom, His Naturally Emotionless state twisted by the demon's own bloodlust and rage merging with it, And Ultimately Found himself Devouring the Leftover of the King he once Served before the Betrayal. Swain however was no fool even when Clouded by a demon's influence, He was one of the Sharpest Strongest Minds in the world, and for him it was no difficult task to see that the timing of the Demon's appearance was too perfect, It had clearly orchestrated the event to claim a powerful Soul for himself.
The Demon was as foolish as the people he'd corrupted, and once they 'returned' to hell, after vengeance had taken place, The demon, Thinking he'd won what he desired, Let his guard down. Swain Attacked then, From within, Crushing the Demon's own will with his own, Outmatching a soul stealer with the mind of a man who saw other's as mere pawns, Who was responsible for countless Thousands of deaths, And saw life itself as one massive infinity spanning war-game. With the demon's Mind crippled Swain took over 'their' body, and forced the Raven out, Using the newly found power to Seal it into the form of a Rather Large Feral Raven. After this he went on doing as he had done in the human realm, Building an Army, Leading them against nearby Rivals, And staking Claim to a Sizeable Domain before he Took a Defensive Action and Sealed off his new 'realm' from the rest of hell, Setting about ensuring it's self reliance before considering expanding farther.
Great lengths of time passed, Swain using powers of the Ravens he learned to use to extend his life-time for a vast length of time, but his Ambitions of claiming all of hell began to crumble as the powers of Chaos Weakened. He saw the connection quickly, With evil banished to hell, The Human realm grew more peaceful, and without a source of Chaos the power of demons and overlords Waned with every passing day. He thought that a normal demon would find it insulting, the possibility that their power relied on Humans being alive and violent towards eachother, He on the other hand began to see them as a resource, Why slaughter them all when you can Turn them against eachother in moderation, Manipulate them to create an endless war. This plan is one he brings with him as he enters the mortal realm again, Though he disdains the loss of the vast power he held in hell, With a few trusted Generals present in his domain he could focus his efforts on Creating a Renewable Resource of power.
Nameless: A strange 6 Eyed raven that is ALWAYS with him, no matter where he goes it seems to appear, whether it's riding his shoulder or flying along side if he's too busy to stand still. It is not much of a threat alone, about as much as a normal over-sized Raven would be, though infused with Swain's magic it is capable of channeling his magic in a few ways he normally couldn't. It 'has' a name, but he doesn't utter it aloud to anyone but the raven itself.
Undying: Numerous occasions of the raven being slain have been seen and it always comes back, implying that perhaps it is some sort of soul-bound servant that will never Dye unless it's Master, Swain, Dies as well.
Cripple: The Raven is a source of dark power itself, though it is not capable of magical attacks alone, when directed and powered by Swain it can project a beam from it's maw, When contacting a target it will Cause devastating pain, Though the beam itself does not damage them, the act of bodily contractions and spasms from pain may result in the target harming themselves or someone else nearby. It can be resisted by someone with a strong enough Will however. [Basically, It's just another spell that happens to need channeling through the Raven to be used at long range, It still takes it's energy from the Overlord]
Staff of the Raven Lord: His personal and normally only weapon on hand, It can be dangerous in melee, But It's true threat is in channeling Infernal Magic. It can be planted in order to remote cast Infernal spells that require the staff to use in the first place, or to Channel something While his body is busy else-where. [Note: It only applies to his spells, he can't make the staff summon Minions, Note I imagine Minion status does not apply to temporary Summons that qualify as a trap or an attack.]
Normal, stoic, lust:
Wrath, fighting, anger:
Skills: Some psychic perception (can get vibes from others, but can’t read their minds),
immortal, regeneration, minor shapeshifting (ability to change hair color, eye color, skin color,
etc.), ability to heal others, can create illusions/dreams/hallucinations, telekinesis, weapons conjuration (ability to think of a weapon and have it appear in hand), expert ability in sword fighting, good ability in archery, average ability in fist fighting
Personality/Bio: Orla is a nephilim, the daughter of a human female and a demon of lust. Orla is much more fallen angel than she is human. She embraces her evil side, and finds herself not able to identify well with her mortal side. She practices all major evils, including wrath (her favorite), lust, pride, etc. Like most fallen angels besides the original, she is made to take orders, not necessarily create them. She will move to any area assigned and complete an assassin’s task or whatever, from leading armies to attacking individuals. She has no faith or trust in anyone or anything. She feels a constant need to stay in control. She has trouble feeling good about anything except for when she is complimented on her evil qualities or when she completes a mission. Orla hates humans, jealous of their naivety while loathing their weakness.
Other: To be hired by the highest (male) bidder. It’s just her way.
Employed by Todari (Rtron)
Name: Regimus Deadloft
Skills: Shadow Weapon Shaping. Can reanimate from bones if downed. skilled with a blade and shield.
Personality: Serious and easily irritated.
Bio: Once I can think of Something :P
Other: Once hired, he sticks with a lord till his/her death. No Shadow.
Name: ”Firetongue” Mord.
- (Except single-colored dark green scales, red eyes and four claws.)
Liquid firebreath - instead of just spraying plain, old fire at his enemies, Mord’s fire is liquid in the sense that it flows along any surface and is hard to extinguish (yes, water will do but you’ll most likely have to swim in it.) Fully resistant towards fire due to his scales. Due to the hardness of his scales, he is naturally reslient towards slashing and piercing damage. Though blunt weapons are still a sore spot for him, with the possibility of doing even more damage than on other beings. Also very prominent at melee fighting due to the four large claws he has on each hand.
Mord is a rather violent and sadistic person who always takes the side of the one who intends to use his lethal skills at full. He enjoys the company of others as long as they’re as evil-minded as he is and he especially loves to boast about how he killed this, how he killed that, how he completely annihilated this one prominent evil being for this other prominent evil being. There isn’t much more to his personality besides this...
Firetongue is old. Centuries old. He is known to many evil masterminds as a very lethal henchman, a mercenary of sorts. Give him a good offer (the promise of violence usually does the trick) and he will do whatever you need done, and he’ll sure as hell do it good. He is mostly known for taking out a few dominion lords for the sake of taking out a few dominion lords and he doesn’t hold back in boasting about it.
The two most talked about ventures would be the vanquishing of a Lord Dragonmaw who essentially had the ability to control dragon-like creatures - hell, they were probably dragons, pure and simple. And also the time when he had someone called The Blood Giant on the run, who was very much what his name would imply...
Other: Already serving as a minion of Roslynn.
Name: Septus Markins
Fire, Fury, Multiple enemy Combat.
Ice, Arrogance, Single enemy Combat.
Earth, Blasphemy, Disruption.
Skills: Depending on his form, Septus can wield multiple attack styles and powers.
Fire, Fury, Multiple Enemy Combat:- Septus can create or manipulate flames at will, using them as either a weapon or armour to coat his body, He's also quick to anger, and his large sword can be swung to strike multiple foes, when in this form, it is wise to attack Septus from a distance, and from multiple fronts, he is also fast to strike, in close combat, wait for an opening to retaliate
Ice, Arrogance, Single Enemy Combat:- In this form, Septus can use the natural moisture in the air to create a sheet of Ice to act as a shield, or form shards of that same, cold substance to throw at his enemies, He is rather flawed in this form, as his katana works in conjunction with his eyes, and he can only strike a single enemy at a time in this form, yet each strike is devastatingly powerful, quick moving and able to shift target without warning, it is advised that adversaries get close enough to avoid his ranged attacks, yet keep a fair enough distance to avoid his blade, for best results, attack from multiple directions.
Earth, Blashpemy, Disruption:- In this form, Septus can control the earth using the large gauntlets that encase his hands and forearms, using this power, he disrupts enemy advances, splits large groups and can even cause small groups of enemies to fall through cracks in the ground or be crushed by large rocks thrown from hillsides and atop mountains. Once an enemy gets close, he begins to strike with hand to hand combat, delivering crushing blows with each strike, it is advised that enemies distract from a distance while closing in and surrounding on the ground.
In all forms, Septus holds a latent telekinetic ability, able to move objects of equal or lesser mass than himself with his mind, he can also speak with those he is affiliated with through the power of the mind, if you hear his voice, yet know he's no-where near, you're safe from his assaults.
Personality: Cold hearted, yet loyal to any who value his abilities, Septus Markins is a ruthless killer, give the word, and, if he respects you enough, he'll do your dirty work, only half-demon, however, his powers come at a price, that price, has been paid with his own humanity, still, he is not free of moments of compassion and mercy, despite his best efforts, there's still some human in him.
Other: Can switch between his forms at will, and the change is almost instant, however, the moments before and after transformation leave him weak and momentarily immobile. He also has no true weaknesses, yet, as already alluded, he is prone to merciful and compassionate actions, these can be used against him. He will serve his lord until they die, as, surrendering his humanity removed any chances of his death, instead, he enters a 500 year slumber while his body recovers from it's wounds.
