The smaller boy was on the verge of tears. He was trembling where he stood the whole time, not moving even an inch. Even when Cross stood high and mighty before him, and demanded he surrender his Pokemon, the young trainer just stood there, frozen in fear and terror. He could feel his feet getting cold, and his hands were shaking like there was no tomorrow. He didn't know what to do. He kept his eyes away, still trying his best not to keep any form of eye contact. With the two of them alone in the room, the boy found himself staring at the shoes of the person in front of him.
He wished he could get out of the place. His mind focused on wishing very hard that he'd wake up from this nightmare, or that the person standing in front of him would just suddenly vanish. The boy did not notice the words Cross was telling him.
"What'll happen to me? Will I die here?" Countless thoughts entered his mind, as if he were about to die. "This wouldn't have happened if I didn't become a trainer! This was a bad idea after all! Dying at 19 is too early! Why has it come to this?!"
"Ren. M-my name's R-ren..." he suddenly blurted out. Ren had absolutely no idea why he told him his name. He finally raised his head and looked at Cross; all the while clenching his teeth and just barely fighting back his own tears.
