Welcome to Dradville!
The old wooden sign sat atop a decorative cast-iron archway, which stood at the mouth of a tunnel which sloped down into darkness. These are the only remnants of civilization amongst a rotting ghost town.
Or so it seems.
A small podium, made of wood, stands next to the tunnel's maw. Atop it is a book; a ledger; with an old ballpoint pen set next to it. One page is completely written on in a neat, clean handwriting.
"Deep below these ruins of old Dradville, lies a complex of ancient mine shafts. These have been modified to sustain life, and we beckon you to come live within the bowels of the earth with us."
Another handwriting fills the rest of the page.
"Welcome to new Dradville! As most of you know, it has been five long years since the fall of America, five years since the dead arose and walked the mortal earth. But here we stand, Dradville, still strong within this wasteland.
You, my friends, are the lucky ones. The Survivors. Whatever be your story, your origins, your sins, leave them at these iron gates.
Dradville is the home of the clean slate, a pinnacle of mankind at the end of the world.
The dead are of no worry here, we are well protected. The only enemies you'll have...
Are yourselves."
It is signed 'Joph' In broad letters, and the next page seems to be some sort of form to fill out. The rest of the pages of the book are the same form, and slivers of paper in the crease of the spine show where many others have come before you. The form is as follows.

sorry, had a busy day. I shall have my CS up tomorrow. : )
Poor Mr. SnippyThe Shortest Horror Story:
"The last man on earth sat alone in a room. There was a knock on the door."-Fredric Brown.
Name: Donny Kain
Age: 28
Sex: Male
Ethnicity: Asian
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Brown (Currently bald)
Other features: Heavily scared and mutilated face, wears face-concealing mask to hide his visage from others. Body heavidly scarred from waist up.
Reason for coming to Dradville: Trying to find a place to settle.
Skills: A skilled gunsmith, metal worker, mechanic, and chemist, he can make tools and weapons from scraps around him. A decent shot, but leaves the hunting and shootouts to the professionals. Good at being stealthy has very steady hands, he excels in unarmed and weapon combat. Also knows a bit of first-aid and foraging.
Weaknesses: Has trouble breathing and cannot work extraneously over a long period of time, and despite having steady hands, he doesn't have the mind of a killer, and violence tends to make him uneasy. Also very paranoid, people who surprise him or act suspiciously around him may find either a knife or a bullet in their head without warning. Also a bit forgetful, and has a nasty habit of "settling up defenses" within or around places, usually without anyone's acknowledgment.
Brief Biography: Donny always was a bit of a weirdo amongst his peers. He was like that annoying nerd who'd talk about video games and guns, and was all talk and was easily angered. He suffered a lot of beatings for this, but still never grew out of it, even when he became an adult. As an adult, he went into manufacturing and chemistry, doing things like learning how to make weapons and be a general nuisance to society. And even with his skills, when the outbreak occurred, he nearly got himself killed when he tried to set up a trap for the zombies; the domino affect engulfed his base into flames, and lit him on fire. The upper portion of his body is now covered in scars, and he can't grow any hair. He's now much more mellow and quite, but he's paranoid and jumpy instead. He just wants to find a safe place to build his crafts, and drink himself to death.

Name: Jordan Wei
Age: 22
Sex: Male
Ethnicity: Anglo-Asian
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Dark
Other features:
Usually wearing some dirty, worn vest; as well as a sun-bleached neck-scarf. On his lower body, his legs usually find themselves within a pair of battered workwear chinos, poked and torn and then haphazardly repaired inexpertly, with the heel tucked firmly into a pair of blackened desert boots.
Reason for coming to Dradville: Curiosity
Skills: A specialist knowledge of basic and semi-advanced medicine/first aid; a sharp, hardened wit and a hefty skill with a felling axe.
Weaknesses: A terrible gun-hand and bad distance perception plague his firearm skill; he is somewhat lazy, and finds it hard to actively help hindered allies, and on top of that he has an unhealthy obsession with the acquisition of memorabilia, especially of the morbid kind.
Brief Biography: Previously undertaking the first steps of a medicine degree, he lived his teen life desperately trying to achieve his parents unreal expectations. His social life, previously flourishing in his early-mid teens, disintegrated to stressful workloads and study. The zombie apocalypse almost came as a sweet release from his academics. The gruesome events happening around the globe seemed to have left him and his family untouched, at least for the first few weeks. When it finally invaded his home, he realised the real extent it would have on his life. Forced to decapitate and gore half his re-animated family, his mindset had shifted completely. Parts of his inner-mind, previously untapped, revealed themselves and emerged as violent, almost excessive bloodlust. He forged a way across a zombie infested continent seeking anything, whether it be an update of the state of the world, or 'antiques', possessions he's acquired over his travels that he deems important.

Blood-Chapter I: The Inferno, Act II "Dead Ends" OOC- A fantasy Magic-based roleplay.
The deepest shadows are always cast by the brightest lights.
In the very back of the book, on a form which has not been torn out, this applicant sheet lays.
Name: Joseph "Joph the Warden" Ward
Age: 34
Sex: Male
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Eye Color: Pink
Hair Color: Yellowish-white
Other features: Joph is 6 feet tall, and sticks out like a sore thumb in any crowd. He is afflicted with Albinism, and has very pallid skin, light off-white hair, and pink eyes.
((Ignore the shirtlessness.))
Reason for coming to Dradville: I created this town because we need a likeness to the life we once had, and nothing will stop me from reaching my goal. Dradville will thrive.
Skills: He is a charismatic man, strong, kind, but mentally hardened. He is truthful unless he must lie to protect someone.
Weaknesses: His Albinism plagues him with Photosensitivity (where bright lights are very painful to the eye), and his coloration causes some stir-ups with others. He refuses to partake in any relationship that may lead to more than friends, and has a mild fear of heights. He also rarely leaves Dradville, for the surface light hurts his eyes and skin.
Brief Biography: Joseph, before the outbreak, was an average Joe, aside from his odd coloration. He had a family; A wife, two perfectly healthy daughters, and a respectable home in Dradville. He worked as a Psychologist until the outbreak. Dradville remained nearly untouched for a month, due to it's remote location, though when the plague hit them, it hit them hard. After a week of hiding in a storm cellar with his family, he was forced to go hunt for food. When he returned, his family was gone. He had no idea what had happened to them, and spiraled into depression. He lived in the storm cellar until the chaos outside calmed down, and eventually came out three weeks after the plague hit.
He found Dradville nearly empty, with only a few undead shambling around the streets... Or what was left of them.
With the help of some other survivors from Dradville, they cleaned out the town of undead and supplies, then migrated into the mine shafts which were built when the Town was young. There, they widened the old stone tunnels, opened air holes in the roofs, and created rooms.
Once construction of New Dradville was done, five years later, they decided to make it a safehaven for other survivors. Thus, the Iron Gates of new Dradville were opened to the curious and those seeking a new home.
That... Is where you come in.

So I'm giving this thread one last bump before I let it die.
OR, if everyone interested would rather it be a mixture of Casual and Action, I can change it to be so.
