[Continuum 2.0] Quick Start Guide
To be able to play in The Continuum you must submit a character sheet to this thread and have it accepted by a judge. Once accepted your character can join any thread in The Continuum provided you adhere to the rules and the format below.
An Introduction to Tiers
The overall range of a character’s ability and potential ability are summed up by its tier, the individual abilities themselves as well as any equipment you may own. Your abilities are ranked using the following list. These tier levels are merely a measure of the relative potency of a given feature, ability, or item possessed by a character. The descriptions given under each tier level are designed to give you a general idea of what type of ability falls under each Level. You may, of course, have any type of characteristic you care for, regardless of its mention or lack thereof on in this section (as long as it fits with your Tier’s restrictions).
The Character SheetLevel 1 || These are general skills that the average person can acquire through time and training. Competency in marksmanship, martial arts, trap making, tracking, etc....Fall into this category. Weapons are limited to primitive melee and range weapons. (Swords, Knives, Bows and Arrows)
Level 2|| Genius level, one in a million, mastery of a particular martial art, marksmanship etc…The start of magical or supernatural powers, like sparking a little leaf on fire at the most. Primitive guns(like muskets), ancient flame throwers, etc…can now be used. The strength of a character at this level is at max that of an olympic athlete and only if they have sufficient background granting such physical prowness. Speed is capped at around 26mph and strength at about 300lbs without breaking a sweat.
Level 3|| If Level 1 is the base human level, and Level 2 is the natural prodigy level, Level 3 incorporates what Hollywood writers think real human beings are capable of. In short, Level 3 is supernatural, but still within the realm of suspension of disbelief. You can now throw fireballs and other simple spells or powers though expect to be exhausted if used frequently. Telekinesis is available to the point that it can stop a bullet, though it would also be incredibly taxing, and characters are able to lift objects several times their weight. All manner of modern weapons are now available, mines, sniper rifles, night vision goggles, etc….
Level 4 || Novice level spell casting, Mad Scientist level genius and scientific ability, long ranged telepathy. Magic is at the level where you can fire homing fire balls, summon familiars to aid you in combat, and perform complex rituals which can trap and entangle your foes. Psychics can now create metaphysical weapons out of thin air and enchanted weapons such as guns, swords, etc…are available.
Level 5 || The basics of nano technology capable of regenerating minor wounds, or alternatively wizardry or clerical ability capable of the same. You can pilot your own short range star fighter and have access to technology so advanced as to be almost magical in nature. Magic is now capable of duplicating the effects of major natural calamities such as earthquakes and meteor impacts, and duplicating any effect of the same energy scale.
Level 6 || The ability to heal major damage taken bother personally, or by others, through the method of your choice. Level six characters can travel the stars with ease, conquer entire nations alone, and survive destruction that would cripple a battleship.
Level 7 || You can distort space-time at will with your magic, enough so to influence events worlds or even years away, and your physical strikes can no longer even be seen. Technology is, at this level, capable of anything that is physically possible and of the global scale or smaller.
Level 8 || Your powers can cut down small armies, and shield you from the effects of nuclear weapons. You are no longer merely limited to visiting other worlds and epochs from afar, but may now visit them personally. Powers are of a scale capable of affecting entire planets, or of affecting locations across solar systems and dimensions.
Level 9 || That your powers rank less then omnipotent and have finite energy requirements are essentially your only restrictions at this point. Level nine powers can affect entire galaxies, and entire star systems across multiple dimensions.
Level 10|| Anything becomes possible within the restraints of the rules of the forum and common sense.
To begin playing, submit a character of your creation using the format below.
-All characters are required to start at Tier 3.
-If your character has not been accepted. Repost it to the front of the page so moderators may find it.
-Any power that states some sort of absolute(an immunity, indestructible, unblockable, unavoidable etc...) will not be accepted. If you want to gauge the relative strength or speed of something. You may use terms like as strong as concrete. Can cut through steel. Is as fast as a gun shot. Is resistant to poisons because of the poison sacs in their body. Etc....

Random statistics: As it sounds. The very basics are simply stated here.
Physical Description: Describe your character's usual appearance in more detail here. This includes attire, as much as how they walk, their mannerisms, and so forth. Remember that if your character's physical appearance radically changes, then you will need to submit a new profile for reference purposes.
Personality Description:What motivates and drives your character—money, morals, power, love? What kind of person are they? What's their goal? How does their mind tick?
Skills, powers and abilities: List and justify your powers in this section, and list their Level. Detail, justification, creativity and attention to detail are all paramount. If you simply write out 'I have Big Bang attack!!!' then we shall not accept it. There is no limit to the number of abilities you may possess, however you should stick to the general theme of your character, and GMs of this thread reserve the right to reject your character submission if you have an unjustifiably ridiculous quantity of powers.
Character Equipment: What items does your character carry? You must describe how you obtained them, and if your explanation is deemed to be unrealistic, the equipment might be removed from you at GM's discretion. All equipment must be listed with their corresponding Power Level 3 given.
Character History: Write a little bit about your character’s past.
