    Digimon .::. Uprising

On a rather quiet day at the Alliance, a boy sat quietly in a room besides the window. He rested his face against the wall while sitting on a chair that was put a few centimeters away from the window. It was raining heavily outside right now, and it felt a bit cold inside the steel walls of this building.

The Alliance had it's headquarters set in an obscure area in the city. The outside of it looked like your normal shed or a small house, but on the inside is an entrance that leads to the secret base below. It was pretty fascinating how they had built something like this and without anyone noticing it. But in this lone room filled with two couches, a few arcade machines and a few chairs here and there, there wasn't much to entertain yourself with. Especially for Jun. The boy sat with his head rested on the wall for well over half an hour now. "It feels cold..." he said as his soulless eyes were slowly curtained by his eye lids and he dozed off to sleep.

Something inside of Jun felt empty, or hollow. But he always hid that behind his expression-less face and his soulless eyes because he had decided he wouldn't hold affection for anything again. Because you would end up losing that "precious" thing in the end, and losing something you love is too hurtful to bear the pain again.

In the Digivice strapped to Jun's belt rested his partner Digimon Elecmon, who was brave and fun yet always remained loyal to his Tamer, because he understood his pain and kept quiet all this time about their relation. Even right now he would've asked Jun to not sleep here in this cold place but he alwas went with what Jun did.

Lilly's father had finally gotten an honorable discharge, so all day at Alliance headquarters she had been happy. She could hang out with her father more, like she used to. Or she could if she weren't currently involved with Alliance. When she was forced to come out and tell her parents about Renamon they took it rather nicely, her father of course flipped at first, but they knew they couldn't force her to leave. Than when she was recruited to Alliance her parents were already informed and were of course told to keep it a secret. It hadn't been long afterward that her father had recieved the discharge. So one good thing after another was alot, especially given something that had her worried alot lately.

Lilly got to help people and that was always a good thing for her, even if most of her helping was behind the scenes. But with Rena sick with a virus from another digimon that was fought, she had been forced to keep her in the digivice on her belt, on the rear, and slightly to the right side. Inside, Rena was perfectly healthy, but outside she couldn't stay for more than a few hours before she needed to return, otherwise she would face de-rezzing. And it wasn't like she HAD to be out all the time, with the training Lilly recieved. She just wished she didn't have to keep Renamon cooped up all the time.

Right now she was in the small room, with Jun, watching her personal television with her digivice propped up on a hard surface next to her so Rena could watch with her. It was some old cartoon from the 60's that the two were watching. Today just seemed like one of those boring days, a day where even Rena was quiet.

    Gosh video games are hard.

Especially arcade games. It seemed not all of Dex's mind was on his possible duties, rather, it was all on one of the arcade machines. He was attempting futility to beat the high score on 'Alien-Puncher Extreme 3!', the second latest in a series of arcade games revolving around the series. It was, of course, extremely difficult, as the last person on it had hit a score so high you would think they were cheating.

Instead, Dex ended up having trouble beating the first level. He never really was good at video games. He stepped away from it in sadness, shaking his head. moving over to the sofa where Lilly was sitting. Maybe she had something interesting to do today. Peeking his head over her shoulder, he watched the game quietly.

"What are you watching?" He asked in his typical quiet voice, watching the screen for himself from the safety of the back of the couch. His Digivice, which was located on his coat pocket, displayed his own Digimon, Agumon, who watched with him. He wasn't quite against the coop up as much as the others were, finding enough fun things to do on his own inside, like for instance, watching whatever Dex decided to be doing at the time.

"Jun... I have a final request for you... don't..."

Jun suddenly opened up his eyes and lifted his head off from the wall. "Why... do I keep remembering that scene..."

When Jun's foster father was lying on the hospital bed, counting his breaths, he had called Jun over to his bed and said he had a last request of him. But Jun's memory of that time is still hazy. He can't remember what his father had said, for what came after the request was an endless trauma for Jun. His father's hand which Jun had been holding had lost it's strength and went limp in his hands. The sight was too much for the young Jun to bear, and he began having nightmares after nightmares every night. But finally, he had stopped crying by himself in those lonely nights because he had dried up his tears after crying that much. His eyes no longer shed a single tear.

Jun looked around the room and saw Lilly and Dex sitting on the couch while Lilly was watching the television. Some old 60s cartoons were on with some characters running around crazily, jumping here and there and doing all sorts of maniac stuff. Jun quietly got up and head over to the duo who seemed to be in a conversation. "Hey." Jun said as he walked passed them and went for the door. The door slid open and Jun stepped outside, and the door automatically closed again. He put his hands in his pockets and began walking in the ever-extending hallway. He walked past the infirmary, the training simulation room and some other rooms before he went for the elevator. He got on it and went up to the old shed.

The sound of the rain pouring everywhere began getting louder as the elevator went up. After reaching the end, or the start in this case, Jun got out of the elevator and walked to a wall made out of wood in front of him. It was a closed space with no where else to go, except back down into the base. But Jun went straight for the wall put his hand on the wall. As he did so, a sound came out of nowhere, "Arata Jun, identified." and the an entrance opened in the wall. Jun stepped outside it and the entrance closed again, leaving no suspicions of there being an entrance there ever. Jun walked straight through this room and slid open the old-styled Japanese door and closed it behind him again. The entrance of the shed was always open and one could see the inside of the shed very clearly from the outside. Jun walked to the entrance and stood there staring outside at the heavy rain that kept falling without an end.

Jun quietly spoke to his partner Digimon, "Hey, Elecmon." The Digimon perked up in the Digivice and replied to his Tamer, "What is it, Jun?"

"Why did you choose me as your partner?" Jun inquired of Elecmon. Elecmon stayed quiet for a few seconds and then replied, "Because you were the most suitable partner for me. And not like I had a better choice either.", Elecmon shrugged saying so and Jun smiled a bit at what he had said. Elecmon smiled too seeing his quiet partner smile like that.

Jacob puffed out a small cloud of smoke and watched it float into the air. "God, this is boring. When are we gonna be able to do anything?" He let his cigarette fall to the ground and stomped on it. "I mean, I joined thing because working with Digimon sounded awesome! And what're we doing? Nothing. Sitting in a little shitty basement, playing craptacular arcade games and watching '60's cartoons. When the fuck are we going to be able to do anyth-"
"Stop whining." Tsukai said from it's digivice. Jacob opened his mouth, as if to retaliate, but shut it and leaned onto a wall. It had been less than a week since he had joined the Alliance, and the boy still hadn't gotten used to the digimon speaking through the digivice in his pocket. Hell, he hadn't even wrapped his head around the idea of working with the little shit that resided in his pocket, let alone fusing with it.
Jacob sighed and walked over to the arcade machines, opting to play the game whatshisface was playing. What was his name? Dan? He pressed a few buttons on the "Super Alien Puncher" game and found that he had already lost. Less than six seconds in and he was completely and utterly obliterated. "Son of a bitch!" Jacob's hand rammed into the screen, turning it into a discolored mess. "Shit."
    "Nice one."

The heavy rain was not helping her mood. The girl with violet hair scowled as she tightened her hood and turned up the volume on her walkman. Even with the rain, she still had a job to do, and her boss had made it clear if she didn't work, she wouldn't get paid. It was tempting to someday activate the Drive-Digivice. Sadly, she needed the money more and as frustrating as it was, it made sense.

Her bike swayed momentarily, and Tarana grabbed the handles to steady herself. Right. She exhaled and continued pedaling. Just this last delivery, then she could go check in with the Alliance and finally dry off. She felt soaked to the bone. Rainwater slid down her jacket and dampened her skirt. She tried to ignore the feeling of cloth clinging to her skin. Finally, her destination came into view and she stopped pedaling, coasting to a stop. Right. She hopped off the bike and walked inside. The store's owner looked up and smiled as she pulled off her headphones.

    "Are you from-?"

"Yeah. Deli section." She pulled the bag from her pocket and put it on the counter. As she did so, a small device also fell from her pocket and hit thr ground. It growled. The man leaned over the counter.

"What was that?" he asked as Tarana pocketed the device.

"Cell phone. Got a text." She shrugged. "Anyways-" The man paid her and she went back on her bike to go back to the store. No tip as usual. She turned up her music to drown out the sound of the rain, the cars, and the digivice in her pocket and the monster within that snarled.

When she arrived back at her workplace, she took off her headphones and could hear the digimon in her pocket snarling. She huffed and puled out the digivice.

    "Can you calm down?"

"You DROPPED me." The digimon - a female Dorumon - snarled. Her voice was a deep growl. Tarana pinched the bridge of her nose.

"It was a fucking accident." Dorumon seemed unconvinced. "Can you at least let me check out and THEN you can yell at me?" The Dorumon's growls slowly faded as the rain kept falling, water dripping off the digivice and Tarana's hair.

"....not long." Dorumon's voice had changed to a sickly-sweet child's voice. How she could do that escaped Tarana, but she was used to it. She pocketed the digivice once more and went inside at last. Her boss gave her a brief scolding - apparently someone's order had arrived soaked. Not her fault, but it was coming out of her paycheck anyways. She took her pay envelope and left. The rain wasn't letting up in the slightest and Dorumon shouting at her from her pocket only made things worse. Tarana gritted her teeth. Why had she been chosen anyways? This digimon was clearly insane, probably should be in a cage somewhere doped up on medication until she couldn't even see straight. What made them think 'yes she'd be the perfect partner for you'?

A thunderclap heralded her arrival to the Alliance base. Dorumon was now only grumbling but faintly, and trailing off into a sulk. She walked past the shed and went inside, checking in, confirming her identity, confirming the digivice held no new material that could be a threat, and getting updates - namely, that she'd missed nothing. Some update. She took the elevator down to the main room - she guessed it was a den, it was never really clear though. One glance around confirmed she wasn't the only one who hadn't arrived yet. There was a faint smell of smoke, the source being a broken arcade machine. She had a guess it was from the guy standing right next to it. Call it a hunch.

"Wow. I wonder what'll be broken next time." She sauntered over to the couch, shedding her jacket as she did so. She was still dripping. The TV kept playing. She didn't care much for cartoons, she was fairly certain she'd outgrown them before fifth grade. "So who else is excited about all the nothing that's going on?"

Dex pushed off the back of the couch, stretching out. He didn't even care that someone just broke his favorite game. He was so bored that he didn't even want to argue about it. He just stared and shook his head.

"Try not to bust the goods..." He says aloud, before turning towards the new arrival as she spoke.

"I'm plenty excited. Cant you see the big smile on my face?" He responds to her.

If you couldn't tell by the wording, yeah, he had a big fat frown plastered on his face. The face of true utter boredom. His Digimon seemed to show the same look, on close inspection. He pulled out a small snack bar, no more then a few inches long, and bit into it, gazing around stupidly.

"So, hows life?" He asked the newest arrival, moving to a nearby chair and leaning on it.

Nathan walked toward the Alliance in the rain, nonchalantly holding an umbrella to keep himself dry. It had been raining for a short while now, and yet it didn't seem like it was storming. As he neared the 'shed', he passed by Jun, as gloomy as usual, and offered a solemn/bored, "Hey there," before continuing into the shed. Walking to the back wall, he checked to make sure no one was looking in the windows before pressing his hand to the wall and listening to the usual message that let him enter the Elevator.

After leaving the elevator, Nathan walked down the hall and stopped in the room the others were in only long enough to drop off some food. He continued down the hall to the training room, intending to get some practice in his day. If anyone noticed the bruise on the corner of his jaw, he didn't bother listening to what they said. Once in the training room, he adjusted the setting so that he could warm up and practice some fighting moves before he tried going through Half-Drive simulations.

"It sure is boring without much to do," a voice came from the digivice hanging from a short chain on his belt, "Watching you fight earlier was the exciting thing to happen since we became partners weeks ago..."

The cartoons ended, and it seemed like the place was livening up. Jacob was complaining about the boredom, with which she could concur. Tara seemed to be much the same, but she could feel a certain tension coming from her. She decided that maybe she could do something productive. Like maybe go into the training room and run a battle against a simulated digimon. She put away her personal television and put Rena on her belt. "Well I'm going tyo go do something constructive to kill the boredom. I'm going to run a sim fight." She got up off of the couch, stretching exaggeratedly, bending backwards about halfway, unintentionally showing off her limber body. She stepped out of the room, making her way to the training room.

Once in the training she came to the control panel near the door of the holo-room she intended to use. She set up a fight with a Renamon, setting it to use an accurate fight using all the data there was on a Renamon. She didn't intend to take it easy, nor did Rena. She grabbed the digivice off of her belt and faced Rena with a smile. "Alright Rena let's do this" She pressed the button that would start it on a 10 second delay. Lilly stepped into the room and activated Half-drive. She could easily do full drive with Renamon but the excercise she planned was intended not only for practice, but for soul unity. The environment appeared around her as the Blue sleeves of a Renamon formed on her arms, and semi dull claws formed on her finger tips. The Renamon appeared and almost immediately started in. The Renamon came in almost blindingly fast, but she easily dodged over the Renamon and jumped off her baclk with a flip, and half twist. Facing the Renamon in mid air she called out "DIAMOND STORM" an echo followed as she formed the crystals around herself quickly and launched them at the Renamon. The Renamon called out quickly "Kohenkyo"and disappeared. Lilly herself found she was no longer facing the Renamon but felt a sharp pain in her back from the hard light holographic construct. Lilly hit the ground, but got up quickly, and jumped forward, twisting around to face the Renamon. Lilly and the Renamon faced down one another and charged one another, fight still ensuing viciously, dodged after dodge, hit after hit.

    [[ Corrab w/ Kyoko-chan. ]]

The sound of buttons mashing against the rubbery mesh beneath the surface of a hardened plastic controller and the constant tapping of joysticks hitting the rims of their bounds filled the small and cramped room. Sitting on a rather plush cushion, Matsu stared with a blank gaze at the screen. His eyes were fixated upon the images of virtual blood, bright flashes and rather provocatively dressed figures. Just behind him, with a fiery expression plastered on her face, her eyes filled with desire and passion, stood a teenage girl the same age, ready to pounce at the monitor.

"You know you won't win, right?!" The girl fidgeted behind the boy. "Stop moving and let me finish you already!" She growled. It scared Matsu. The girl was surely into the game and the fact that she was losing her humanity and becoming a beast was downright spooky. Matsu drooped a bit, beginning to nibble on his bottom lip.

"You're going down this time, Rin! I'm going to beat you!" Matsu responded. He leaned back, a desperate attempt to disrupt Rin's intense focus. Alas, to no avail. She was completely immersed into the game, ready to strike down her opponent as quick as possible. She was... scary, to say the least. A real monster sometimes. But that's what made Rin, Rin.

Just then, Rin's fighter leaped into the air, rotating in midair and her foot extended. Her foot collided directly into Matsu's character, sending him back into the dusty pavement. A perfectly executed roundhouse kick right to the noggin. Matsu flinched slightly as if he could actually feel his character's pain. A "KO" sign flickered onto the screen as a commentator repeatedly shouted "KAY OH!" Rin dropped her controller in triumph, raising her arms well above her head. Mockingly sticking out her tongue, she made a rather annoying and childish sound.

"Ha! That makes 4876 wins and eight losses for me!" Rin dropped her arms to her side and dropped back onto Matsu's rather comfortable bed. She breathed a sigh of victory.

"N-n-next time I'll win. Watch!" The defeated male dropped the controller to the floor. He wasn't annoyed or pissed off at the fact that he lost. Hell, it was second nature to him. Especially when it came to competing against Rin. Rin rolled her eyes, propping herself up with her arms. Her dark green eyes shot a glare at the boy. She pouted, mockingly.

"You keep saying that," Rin muttered as she flicked her bangs to the side of her face. She chuckled, but it was soon ended as she began to come a realization. "Hey, aren't we forgetting something?"

Matsu turned to the girl. "Maybe." He lifted up his Digivice, glancing at the screen. A small red creature that appeared to be a dinosaur tapped the screen with his claws. "Hey Guilmon!" The little red monster smiled. "Matsu. Jun told you guys to meet at headquarters."

Matsu raised his brow. "So? We're in no rush."

"Two hours ago." Matsu stared at the screen, blankly. He felt stupid for having let time slip away from him so easily. Just a few feet away from him, Rin was checking on her Digimon as well. Alruna Lunamon was running around worrying about Rin being late for the meeting or whatever it was that Jun called them for.

"Y-you guys! The headquarters! They'll be furious!" A high pitch squeal shot out of Rin's Digivice.

"Crap. Jun's going to kill us. Thanks a lot.. RIN!" Matsu glared at Rin. Glaring at one another was a pretty common thing for them. There was no hatred between the two. Instead, they were simply friends who joked around quite a bit.

"OHHH?! Thanks to YOU for inviting me here!" With that said, she yanked the wires out of the small console that laid peacefully on the floor. She then began to unplug the two controllers, hunching over to give her better position. "Your invitation wasn't such a good idea!" She turned her head and, once more, glared at Matsu. "I'll hurry over to my house and get changed! See ya!" Rin ran out of Matsu's room, grabbing her bag on her way out. She waved quickly and jolted down the hallway. Just as Matsu sat down on the edge of his bed, Rin poked her head back in the room. "Forgot these! She grabbed a handful of lollipops from a small glass bowl resting on top of Matsu's bureau and left just as quick as she came.
