I give you the chance to talk your side but at the end of the day this is still my thread and the story is something I made. It will be altered and changed as YOUR character goes along but to me logic and practicality trumps most other things.

It has been ten years since the last S Rank tournament between the guilds and half a year since the last S-Rank Trials and since then very few things in particular in Magnolia. Life goes as it always does and very few people become truly successful however, Magnolia has become somewhat more of a betting man's land. There has been a rise in crime, thanks to a number of illegal guilds appearing, and the rise of even more industrial powers in many of the main cities. The main leaders of the industry are James De Sand, Calahide Yenmor, and Kyle Marquise each of which have become incredibly rich and dangerous. Some people believe the three are involved in a conspiracy to take over all of Earth Land but that is highly unlikely. The Magic Council is also ready to launch a full scale investigation on all the guilds to root out evil mages. However so far it has not been implimented and its only been rumored about. The enigmatic Fairy Tail Guild reigns as one of the strongest guilds in the land due to its various types of mages. The second is Sabertooth with it still reeling from the loss of its famous member Damion Wilmore and Joey Chamberling. The third strongest is Lamia scale with its few but very strong mages. Legends have been lost and born and Earth Land is about to become a battleground. The Land of Flore is about to experience a time of dark change however as a unknown appears and along with the aid of various other helpers good, evil, and neutral is poised to take over the land. Is Fairy Tail able to stop this or will the land become covered in darkness?

Conditions/Rules:

• If your character can beat Sam Aerohide with ease then you're too strong for the start of this rp.
• I will only accept one more dragon slayer provided they are not poison god slayer for I will be using one during the rp. If you are one of the dragon slayers, you have the to use only your element. You already dominate that element why would you need a second?
• You will be allowed to play as a near S-Rank mage but not an S Rank mage in actuality you will grow in strength throughout this rp and the weaker you start the stronger you will become. The stronger you start out as, the slower you rank up. There is a reason behind this which I will get onto later in this rp for why there are no S Ranks.
• Sub Plots will need to be asked for before being implemented.
• No God Slayers, or lost magic users (minus dragon slayers) Period this also goes for advanced magic like gravity, crash, and fairy law.
• This is more of a high end rp if you can't type more than five sentences per post I don't want you here. There is a difference between skill level, laziness, rp content, and people who should be in free.
• I will not be accepting bad guys unless you make it a good case. I plan almost everything out before I make an rp. I know what I want from start to finish and I don't need extra villains unless I ask for them.

History: Growing up in a rich mansion by a family of dangerous and highly talented lightning mages Wallace was rather pampered early on in life. He had one older brother and three younger sisters along with his grandfather who lived with his parents. He started out learning magic from his parents, along with the normal school stuff plus some extra things from tutors his parents paid for, and had a relatively easy life. This went on for about six years of his life, mostly becoming relatively good at lightning magic to the point where he surpassed most kids at his age in it. This is not saying much however since he was below the level of the prodigal older brother of his.

However one day when he was out playing a rogue mage nearly killed him for no reason but the hell of it. However the assassin was forced off by his big brother, and role model, Damion Wilmore one of the up and rising members of the Sabertooth guild. His parents rushed him to the doctors and told him there was little chance of him succeeding in living. However his grandfather submerged a secret he had been hiding, Dragon Lucimia for a lightning dragon slayer, and told them to put it in his grandson with surgery. Thanks to the skills of his doctors the operation went on without a hitch and his new powers saved his life. He was angry for most of his life from then on and pledged to get back at the man who did this to him. His brother taught him most of his lightning moves from then on there and he learned less about advanced mathematics and literacy from then on there in favor of training. His parents disapproved of him doing so but his grandfather told him to keep trying his best. Soon he became almost as strong as his brother at age fifteen. He joined a group of free-lance mages at one point, refusing to join the Sabertooth guild due to being afraid of commitments like his brother had, and became known as Thunder Blade in the mercenary guilds. Soon after he reached sixteen years old and had completed over sixteen missions of varying difficulty he quit the job of fighting, which his parents were grateful for, and went back home to finish his education.

However during this time of rest he was contacted by Fairy Tail for a possible way for him to join their guild. He refused immediately and told him maybe some other time as a joke. His parents were happy about this and his grandfather, while very ill at this point, disapproved of his choices because he wanted his grandson to be more adventurer like. One more year passed when his brother, who had been forced to stay in the Sabertooth Guild due to a disagreement with his parents, told him he'd be going to take on a very dangerous S Rank mission to which Wallace whole heartily disapproved of but keep quiet and wished his brother good bye.

Two months later and his parents got word their son was lost and the Sabertooth Guild had no idea what happened to him. Wallace immediately set out with a friend of Damion's and a few others of his former work mates and found no evidence of Damion's whereabouts but it was clear he had finished his mission. On the way back he had a fateful encounter with the rogue mage who had nearly killed him, there were wanted signs of a man who recently escaped from jail, and attacked him along with his friends. They overpowered the rogue mage and found out that he did not do anything to Damion, but he was looking for him, and told Wallace that he better be careful. Wallace nearly killed him afterward but was stopped by one of his old friends.

They arrested the rogue mage and threw him in jail to which Wallace once again was approaching by Fairy Tail and Sabertooth as well for him to join them. Wallace decided to go with Fairy Tail because he did not want to follow in his brother's shadow and because he was suspicious of them. Fairy Tail would likely never do that to Damion because of the reputation of the mages there. He joined the guild with the consent of his parents, and his grandfather who died shortly after he left for the guild, and was soon recognized as a Dragon Slayer to which he explained to Makarov that he had a bad accident and this was the result. Jormunder did not push anymore and for the next few years he worked on various missions proving he is extremely efficient in destroying rogue guilds and mages. He was pushed into the S Rank exams and finished, but was shaken from the event, and has since been taking on various jobs for the guild.

Personality: Wallace is the sort of man to not care about how a person acts and finds most people generally annoying. He is normally one to put down a battle quickly and with as minimum amount of casualties as possible. However that does not stop him from using his full power in fights. He often tries not to underestimate his opponents but is sometimes too caught up in the fight to bother to think about the weaknesses of his enemies. Around others he is normally very calm if not arrogant or ignorant at times and prefers not to play games with other members of the Fairy Tail guild.

His main goal in life is to join the magic council and to become the strongest mage in existence. He normally chuckles to himself when someone challenges him as he finds them a nuisance more than anything. He is very protective of his family and friends however. Whenever he leads a squad he calls the squad's name "Fairy Tail's Finest" after his brother's former squad that was lost on an S Rank Mission.

Likes: He likes those who act respectful to others, those who put thoughts into things because they don't rush needlessly into traps, those who can fight on their own without the help of others, He highly approves of gaining more power whenever possible and is quick to learn as much as he can about new spells. He prefers dogs as pets seeing as they are loyal to a fault.

Dislikes: He hates water as it can redirect his attacks and he is unable to swim, He hates those who are simply to happy and go lucky because they are ignorant on the truth of life and how hard it is. He hates those who play dirty and manipulate others for their own needs. He hates those too weak enough not to see through the person controlling them; because they are not smart enough to see through lies, he dislikes those who are in it only for themselves and no one else seeing them as self-obsessed fools.

Motivations: His main goal in life is to join the magic council and to become the strongest mage in existence and to find what happened to his big brother Damion.

Lightning Dragon's Shock Wave - The user holds up his hand and activates the seal. Electricity runs through the finger tips and shocks up to five opponents in front of the person. It can be blocked by metal (as long as it's not touching the person otherwise the person still becomes a conductor) and water.

Twin Lightning Blades - The user activates his magic by clapping his hands together and makes two swords made of electricity in similar sort to Cole from Infamous. The swords are meant to repel metal and electrocute people on contact with near fatal results if contact is maintained and in some cases can be deadly especially when amplified. This is also its downfall however as it cannot penetrate armor because the magnetic pushback does not allow the user to get near the target. However it can be used one at a time to minimize the magic used at once and or to make a single blade more powerful and thus much more deadly.

Lightning Dragon's Shower - The user generates electricity in his palm into a ball and throws it up in the air causing it to go everywhere in the room or area. It's cost and effect varies with the amount of magic is used and the proximity to the user. Anywhere near the user is likely to be heavy however if far away you might just feel a slight shock or something towards the line of being shocked by someone in school.

History: Much of the guild master's past remains a secret. However it is known that he has been with Fairy Tail for over forty years. He was friends with the second guild master and third and has been both the fourth and seventh guild master after the previous two died mysteriously of illness. He was a member of the Magic Council and is known as "Wave Hand" by some and "The Father" by others because of his attitude. He is loved and respected by many and hated just as much by dark guilds. He is known as the third most powerful mage who has ever lived and has many techniques that he has never shown anyone or anything. He had a son, who was the fifth master of the guild before he died, and is very protective of his guild mates and normally refers to them as sons and daughters. However when he feels that they should fend for themselves he refuses to help them to make them stronger.

Personality: Jormunder is a very eccentric old man who enjoys joking and picking on his younger guild mates. He drinks a lot and normally could be found passed out drunk but he is always aware of what is happening around him. He can be very calm and understanding when need be. However he can become seriously mad and angry. He has a particular look in his eye that makes most people feel good and sometimes people temporarily loose themselves in his eyes with their deep knowledge and hidden pains and he also has a powerful but comforting aura surrounds him. He is known to be very passionate in everything and everything he does.

Dislikes: He dislikes people who are rude, inconsiderate, not very passionate, and very crude.

History: People have never has a clear picture on his history some say he was a former dark guild member, some say he was a mercenary, some say he was simply raised wrong, however the general consensus is he is extremely powerful. Ever since he entered the guild six years ago at the behest of Jormunder who thought he could turn him away from his evil side. Jormunder claimed he found the man around threating people and working as a bouncer for a crime boss before he was convinced to join Fairy Tail. His skills were unquestionable and he sometimes did something that would be of questionable legality. However as he grew so did his powers and his attitude. He became more mature and quickly advanced throughout the ranks of the guild. He took on the S Rank Trials two years ago and completely demolished his courses with overwhelming skill and only with his bare hands.

Personality: Toguro displays a calm, relaxed attitude, hardly ever showing any signs of emotion. His only accentuated facial expressions are present when he is either very happy, usually during an exciting fight, or very angry, against posers and dishonorable people. He mostly speaks plainly and firmly to others, but is never afraid to speak his mind out loud. However, underneath this composed exterior, lies a man with a powerful, self-applying moral code, as well as a personal, and dependable code of honor. Toguro prefers not to take the lives of anyone, unless the job demands it, and usually ends up apologizing for his actions afterwards. He is also very loyal to his employer, as long as he is under contract. But while in the presence of individuals who behave dishonorably, cheat, mock, or otherwise do not follow the rules, he displays a ruthless and highly brutal behavioral pattern.

Muscle Manipulation

Percentage Power (筋肉操作, Kinniku Sōsa, literally translated as Muscle Manipulation): Toguro's signature is the ability regulate how much of his maximum power he releases, ranging from 0% to 100%. However, in the S Rank Tournament tournament in his final fight, as he fights his final challenger he goes to a fullpower reigun, he builds up to 100%. With each increase comes a burst of magic and his muscles thicken and enlarge themselves. At full power, his appearance changes drastically, affecting even his skin color, but requiring him to feed on a constant source of magic to maintain such immense power, which leads him to expend a lot of magic. His physical strength is enough to completely dominate over his opponents. This change in power (mainly the skin) also makes him highly resistant against most magics.


Finger Flip Bullets (指銃, Shi Dan): Toguro uses this technique in order to unleash long-ranged death. All he has to do is simply flick a finger and, thanks with his muscle manipulation ability, a tiny burst of vacuum erupts from the action and leaves bullet-shaped holes in whatever it hits.

History: After winning a bet against Blue Pegasus Leader Joe Trainer Master Kuroa of Fairy Tail (Sixth leader) brought the young man in after he swore his vows never to sell out Blue Pegasus. He immediately became a favorite as his attitude made many friends. He is renown for being one of the most enigmatic mages out there. He was a top ranking member of Blue Pegasus before joining Fairy Tail. He helped many of the members in Fairy Tail become what they are today. He wears a white suit and black tie. He is extremely handsome but has been known to be very modest. He has completed many missions for Fairy Tail and has become one of Fairy Tail's S Rank members after teaming up with Tuguro to win the tournament two years ago.

Personality: Sam is the most energetic, while being enigmatic at the same time. He appears to be happy-go-lucky and good-natured, and acts very carefree. He often teases Tuguro and Wallace, calling them ridiculous nicknames such as "Tuguro-rin" and "Wallace-tan". However, Sam has been shown to be as perceptive and a skilled fighter as Tuguro. He also appears to carry a deep emotional burden, and values his own life very little. In battle, Sam doesn't bother to fight very hard for his life, and will only do so if someone he cares for is in danger. Though he hides his unhappiness well, Jormundur is able to sense the disguise. When he confronts him about it, Sam usually gives very dark and enigmatic answers. His past is a profound motivating factor for his actions and is something Sam cannot seem to overcome; instead he masks it all with a smile.

Sam is emotionally distant, refusing to allow anyone to become too close to him. Despite this, Tuguro has noted that the mage has become attached to Fairy Tail's members. Sam worries about his companions and would go as far as breaking his own personal vows to ensure their safety. Wallace confronts Sam about this, and states that Sam should figure out what he's doing with his present and future, because his past has nothing to do with either Wallace, Tuguro or their younger companions. Sam tells Wallace that he should not worry or care about him, which Wallace responds with "I don't care about your past. So prepare your current self."


Likes: Truthful people, caring people, riddles, puzzles, and other things of the sort. He loves jokes and is often very polite to people who are polite to him.

Dislikes: He has a wide array of things that tick him off but he hides it well.

Motivations: To make the world gentler and to protect his friends.

Personality: Steven is a kind and considerate man with a heart of gold and he truly cares about people. His life despite all its terrors has not robbed him of his kindness or its vigor. However he is easily angered and tends to burst out in frustration and anger when pushed to reveal something he does not want to. He refuses to kill unless it is absolutely needed. He is more than willing to help teach people if he can but is hesitant to give away training due to its rough nature. In battle he becomes a completely different person when in danger or fighting a very powerful opponent his eyes become glazed and he fights with a near single minded nature of killing his enemies. He mourns the death of every creature and seeks to amend his horrid past if possible. He cries when he is given the slightest kindness when he is feeling down.

Likes: helping others because he seeks to amend his past, he likes people who are considerate of other's feelings, He enjoys walking and enjoying the scenery and beauty of nature itself. He enjoys having a good chat with people and having a good friend to talk with. He is more than willing to help a person when they are feeling down and often stays with people all night.
Dislikes: Talking about his past fights it reminds him to much of pain and makes him shut up completely or change the subject, he hates the feeling of being left alone in the world after he killed his village so long ago, He hates people who he believes are pure evil.

Also what's the limit of magic for a mage? Example being how Lisanna and her siblings can use more then just take over magic, and Gildartz's uses more then just Crash but, that's his strongest one.

No to powerful. If you want more then one magic go ahead but it must be split meaning you will be weaker in both areas instead of one singular area and it must be below S Rank or just before it. Sam Aerohide is barely S Rank and if he was not so fast he'd never have made it in the tournament. If you focus on a sub level thing like Fire then purple flare thats different. Fire is a base form and purple flare is another form of fire. It just stronger. However you won't be able to do much purple flare. Splitting two elements will be like a fraction 50% in each for 2 4 would be 25% etc.

Wallace is high level S Rank is the other side of the arguement he has A TON of experience in field and had a lot of teachers. This rp will focus on the weaker mages becoming strong with Wallace and a yet to be made known character leading the journey however they will not be fighting a lot.

Edit: Why is it to power? For one its an advanced magic and you as weak or weaker then Sam so...On the other actual hand it disinigrates brick walls...If you can beat Sam with ease then your too strong for the start of this rp.

Wait a second, I just realized... you copied a character from yu yu hakusho XD

on as ide note, a thought of my own, can we alter teh balance of multi elemental percentages? like, 80 and 20?

Also, can we have 'a spell' of an element that isn't our main, perhaps that they might've taken to learning for a utilitarian purpose? even at the expense of one less spell for their main element? sortof like the main element being water, but having an earth or wind based power to help defensively or in traveling? or would count as the 'second element' even on it's own, and reduce the power? As well, can a dragon slayer have dragon magic of one element, and skill in a different element, in exchange for having fewer spells of those elements than if they just had a single element? Then again if I finish it before your able to answer I'll just post it and see what you think.

oh, Or a version of Requip used for something other than weapons or armor, like medical supplies, food, or perhaps 'tools'.

Okay, here's the custom spells I've come up with so far, be merciful XD It's 2am now, and I'm rather tired, Figured I'd go ahead and post them to make sure if it was acceptable or not, and if not, it'll save me the trouble of doing it after I've made the rest of my CS.

I'm not sure if this would be considered 'a lot' or not, to my knowledge these don't fit S-rank, but then again, I'm not 'too' experienced in the Fairy tail-verse yet xD

As well, I'd say these equate to 90% Light, and 10% Take over magic, being that he only has 2 Take-over spells, and neither is a complete form change. Plus, the Requip involvement is pretty miniscule, mainly useful for story-play rather than as a combat value, though the prank bits may have tactical use once in a while, nothing seriously game changing though.


Light Dragon's Strafing Beam: It has an appearance similar to that of a normal light beam, generally produced by the hands, however It is projected across a path determined by how the user moves the part of his body producing the beam. The initial beam does little more than jolt any target it hits however, the damage comes after the user stops channeling the beam, when the energy it implanted into what it strikes detonates with raw force, creating a line of explosions across the beams path. The placement and number of explosions depends on how long the beam was maintained and how much distance was traversed by the beam.

The use of the beam is greatly reduced when not used from above a target, as the angle of the beam spreads the energy out farther and causes the resulting explosions to be weakened, though a direct hit from below can still be dangerous.

Using the beam while mobile reduces it's accuracy as well as the stability of the energy generated by contact from the beam, so while running, or perhaps flying, the best effect will still only be similar to that of Firing from a poor angle. Doing so while only falling doesn't weaken it as much as more focus on the beam is possible.



Light Dragon's Roar: Functioning similar to any other Roar attack this one is released from the mouth, though It produces a powerful beam of light, who's ultimate effect is similar to that of a light beam, though far stronger.

The main difficulty of this attack is the brightness of it, while it 'could' disrupt some enemies if their sensitive to light, the fact that it is coming from the mouth will also disrupt the forward vision of the user.



Light Dragon's Magic Shield: as the name implies it is a defensive spell, Though it different from a simple 'light shield', in that it calls for the user to conjure several runes before the shield itself will appear, making the shield incredibly difficult to break, yet there is a vulnerability period prior to it's appearance where the user must conjure those runes. If it's not obvious, it means the shield could potentially ward off stronger attacks that must be charged first, but simpler attacks that can be fired on a moment notice will either strike, or force him to cancel the spell and dodge, thus wasting the magic he already used for runes.



Light Dragon's Piercing Beam: Similar in function to a light beam, however much more focused into a smaller beam, with far more damage and armor penetrating potential, though because of it's sized, grazed hits or hits in non-vital locations are likely to only to be painful if not miniscule in nature.


Light Dragon's Seeker/Barrage: A Spell similar to Rain of light or perhaps Holy Ray, It produces projectiles of seeking Light energy that will home in on a target. As one can imagine the more projectiles the attack produces the more magic it takes, and each single projectile isn't particularly deadly on it's own. The projectiles can even be made to target different oppents.

The Effect depends on the shape of the user's hands, a simple 'finger pointing' will produce only a single projectile, dangerous sure, but not exactly difficult to avoid or block, but also incredibly cheap to use and carries sharp homing capabilities.

2 Fingers will produce Several shots in rapid succession similar to one finger, slightly stronger, but more costly obviously.

A Fist will collect Energy for Each finger, and will release the shots for each finger that is uncurled, Not exactly 'stronger' than other abilities, but allows for modified 'rate of fire' for the charges that can be collected.

An open Palm will collect a ball of energy, Which will release a Spray of Several Shots in an instant, though homing capabilities are reduced, 'quick damage' is pretty obvious.

Finger and Thump Curled into a finger flicking position will collect between them for as long as the user holds it, and Will release a stronger single Charged projectile depending on how much charge took place.

Knife hand Shape will charge the energy along the finger tips, and when 'slashed' will release a line of Projectiles along the arc of slash.

Claw shapes held with air space between them will collect energy between them, to be released in a blast of numerous projectiles, the strength and number of which depend on how much energy was charged, but can generally vary between 10 and 100. This of course is the strongest effect it can produce.

Amatuer Requip Variant - Pranks: Amatuer meaning he can only store a small number of things in his 'pocket dimension', in this case, handfuls of little 'toys' he uses for entertainment, though they 'may' have some use in a fight, like smoke or pepper bombs, or Goo Pellets. Mainly, you can expect these to be little more than a nuisance if used in a fight, unless he gets a lucky shot. nothing will come from this that wouldn't qualify as 'prank material' so no instant Grenades or armor pieces will come out of it, but my 'prank' ideas are too varied to really list here, unless you insist.


Animal Soul - Dragon Wings: This is also bloody obvious isn't it? It allows him to sprout wings with a draconic appearance, though they'll resemble his light dragon 'father' in being furred and feathered. They are a bit stronger and more durable than normal bird wings, but also larger and easier targets, but they work well for flight, as well as making a quick enhanced leap, as well the bones are quite durable.

Animal Soul - Mole Claws: This Spell is fairly simple in it's effect, and is his sole melee capability for both offense and defense, As it grows a pair of excessively large sharp claws for him, nearly fore-arm length, though it doesn't affect him any other way, and beyond this he has no form of melee defense besides any sort of armor he might be wearing.

If you pit a purist master lightning user against Wallace for example who do you think will curb stomp? Wallace without much effort all lightning magic is nullified when it hits him infact he'd swallow it and use it to power his own moves in a stronger version of his own.

For multi-Magic that is an option however if you are say fire with 95% strength in it and you fight another fire user but he has nothing but training for fire magic your enemy will still be stronger in that magic if your on the same level of strengh. It varies on experience and strength.

History: Bastion is the youngest and last son of Fairy Tail Guildmaster Jormundar around the man's late forties. Being the youngest, Bastion was watched over vigorously by his older brother, learning about dreams and honor from him. Not many know of what happened with Bastion's mother but, it was known that she passed away due to complications with his birth. Regardless of different mothers, Bastion's big brother made sure to be there for the boy. From his father to his brother, Bastion was fascinated with magic and the ability to help others with it. So Jormundar allowed his boy to choose what magic he wanted to learn and the Maker Magic of Fire was chosen if only for the cool picture in a book.

Training was quite difficult as Fire Make was the hardest to understand but, Bastion bared the competence and knowledge to gain a better understanding of his magic. His older brother's death struck the young man hard as he found out during training, causing a spell to backfire, and burn both his shoulders. He never thought he could lose another person so close to him which brought about Bastion's change in personality, becoming one dedicated to achieving the dream of being a hero. From then on, Bastion gained his Fairy Tail tattoo, permanently marking him as a mage of the best guild around.

Not only awhile ago did Bastion meet the new girl, Eli Ling. It wasn't love at first sight but, they connected in ways that the others in the guild could not. He shared his fears with her and now continues to care for her. Fairy Tail, and Eli are the only things he relies on nowadays, hoping that one day he'll do his father proud and make Fire Make the greatest magic around.

Personality: Bastion is cocky, arrogant, and he easily gets full of himself and enjoys attention, dreaming to become the Hero of Fiore. An immature boy who tends to make jokes even when fighting. Fire-Make Magic (火メイクの魔法; Hi Meiku Mahō) a Caster Magic using the element of fire to create various items/creatures for fighting or defense. Usually starts with the command 'Fire-Make'. Like all Fire Magic, Fire-Make Magic is obviously weak to Water Magic or strong enough Wind Magic and the Fire (insert creature here) Slayers.

Fire-Make is performed using both hands, as most Make-Magic is, being held in the simple alchemical symbol for fire, a triangle pointed upwards. The user can use their own magical energy to create the fire, however this has obvious drawbacks of depleting the user's magical energy and overtime causes sever burns on the user's body. But Fire-Make can be perfomed using any amount of fire, from raging infernos to the smallest spark, and enough magic energy to perform a spell, the bigger the source of fire the less magic energy is needed to add to the fire. Shaping the fire still requires its own amount of energy, the simpler the shape the less magic is needed.

Really Black Feather Blade? That was the main thought when using this magic was the reshaping into blades. Only reason I gave him the name Winged Knight. Lol

Reworded black feather gauntlet in a way near the end. I don't see how Muscle Speak and the gauntlet are too similar. Plenty spells that give an increase in strength but, not on the level and way Muscle Speak does............Lol Almost contemplated on Muscle Speak being my magic.

Black Feather Gauntlets: Amassing black feathers around his arms, Bastion forms black gauntlets on his hands. It has a crystal blue emblem in the middle, and an orange cross on top of this reading "Hero of Earth Land", and flame type designs also cover the base of the gauntlets. He can create a winged shape blade from the gauntlets for close range battle if necessary. Because of the durable nature of the feathers, the gauntlets allow Bastion to hit harder then he usually can.

Its sharper then most objects including normal swords I don't like quite a few things people are bringing to the plate. Why people can't jus pick Ring magic, Fire magic, Wind magic, etc is beyond me. Its simple and straight forward...
They increase the strength and speed. Exactly like Toguro while he does not increase in speed that much he becomes stronger through magic.
He can keep the gauntlets assuming you limit the size down to a knife blade because they are gauntlets not swords. You don't see Ezio in assassin's creed walkin' around with giant swords gapping from his gauntlets.

This is what I expect from the CS in terms of strength: Can he beat Sam easily = way to strong. Can he evenly fight Sam in combat - may need a bit of adjusting. Can he hold his own for a decent amount of time against Sam - Good enough. Can Sam beat him easily - very good chance of acceptance because that level would be low.

Remember even though he is not to strong he is still a two year S Rank capable of holding his own against powerful enemies.
