LHON (Lebors hereditary optic neuropathy) is causing damage to the optic nerve in both of my eyes, causing me to become legally blind over a process of fifteen months. I don't want pity or anything, no special treatment either. I use this computer with screenreading software as well as memorizing the keyboard. Furthermore, legally blind and totally blind are two different things. I still have some vision, and the measurements are precisely 20x5000. Which is light perception. I see rough shadows, some light and color... and my peripheral vision is still... decent. Other than that, I've got basically nothing useable. I learn braille and use a white cane... so yeah... for more information on this, just ask and I'll accept your questioning and most likely answer you. This is also the reason I may misspell your username... so if I do that, get over it, pansy.
