    Evil Rises: You are evil - IC {OPEN}

    OOC is here.

    Look at them. Carefree. Frolicking without fear, these people have nothing to truly worry about. Isn't that simply disgusting? We were driven back before, but while the forces of good spent their time resting, enjoying their victory, we were tempering ourselves for the next assault on the Overworld. Those foolish humans have not seen serious conflict for ages, and they grow weak. The time to strike is now.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    The land of Elysia hasn’t seen better days. Since the Dark Lords were vanquished to hell, war has fled hand in hand with famine. The seals that held them there have weakened though, and are ready to break. The major cities have fairly peaceful relations, but still maintain small standing armies, as minor conflicts still arise. This is the land that you must conquer. Which of you will emerge victorious is yet to be determined. Your greatest threat may not be the forces of good.
    Shards:
    You need power to stay in the mortal realm. This power is supplied by a crystal 'Shard' which acts as a focus and connection back to the underworld. If this is destroyed, you will lose your power and be in danger of being forced back to the underworld.
    Creating New Creatures:
    Creating new minions takes time and effort. Your avatar must be dedicated to this task, and will be unable to manage their domain during this time. You must use your shard to focus your energy and create new creatures. The time it takes to create minions is measured with a simple Fibonacci sequence, 1,1,2,3,5,8,13... etc. Your first minion, the imp, is already created for you. Your second, then, will take one post to create, while your third will take 2, fourth will take 3, fifth 5, sixth 8 etc. Your later minions may be more powerful than your earlier ones.
    *NOTE: Posts are all posts, not only your posts*
    *NOTE: This only applies to creating new forms of minions, and as a loose guide for recruitment speed. (eg: You can recruit / summon / create more of your first minion than your second and so on.)*
    Creating Generals:
    The creation of generals is a similar process to that of minions. Generals control your minions, and can manage your realm while you are incapacitated. The sequence for general is 2 * the proper number in the sequence. For example, your first general will take two posts, your second two posts, your third four, fourth six, etc. (2*(1,1,2,3,4,8,13...)).
    *NOTE: Posts are all posts, not only your posts*
    *NOTE: This rule applies to each general created, unlike minion creation.*
    Player Controlled Minions:
    Player minions are more powerful than typical minions. They may act as generals, commanding other minions, and enabling you to control more troops. Player controlled minions require a connection to a lord to remain in Elysia, as they do not have a direct connection to maintain themselves.
    You may play as either a lord or a minion. Lords are the powerful commanders sent to conquer the mortal realm. The mortal realm is still held by the forces of good, so your powers are weakened. As such, only a small force may be taken with you into Elysia. You are advised to create generals, special, more powerful versions of minions, to command your troops, prevent them from fleeing from battle, and running amok. Player controlled minions can also be used for this purpose.
    Rules and Reminders:
    1) Basic forum rules apply, of course.
    2) Please keep troops and their numbers reasonable. The first minion you create will not be all powerful, nor will you have armies of them.
    2a) You need to find a reasonable explanation for how you care for your troops. (Feed, house) You do not need to go too in depth for this.
    2b) All lords start off with 30 imps.
    3) The larger the army, the less precise control you have over them. You can increase your control by creating generals and employing player minions.
    4) Your presence is yet unknown to Elysia. Use this to your advantage.
    5) I reserve the right to edit this post, and add or change rules as required.
    6) Please include a count of all your troops at the end of any IC posts. A summary of any resources that you have would also be advised, but is not mandatory.
    7)I will write world events. Remember that your actions will have consequences.
    8) Enjoy your stay.
    I want to know everything, from how languages are formed to understanding the essence of how our universe works. I know I will never be able to, but I can sure as hell try.
    I have school, so I cannot be on most weekdays before 6 pm Pacific Standard Time (GMT+8)
    I guess ignorance really is bliss.
    Lord Animus awoke as the sun set, slowly he released himself into the form of rats and poured himself out of the holes that made up his new coffin until he reformed beside the sealed sphere. After the last incident that left him paralyzed for a century, he made for himself a wrought iron dome like one would cast a church bell or the like and filled an inset fire pit with earth that he might rest in this sphere of protection. It would take ten strong men to move the bell, he knew this as he had the strength of ten men and he could barely move the thing to its desired location.
    But that was not important for he cast out his gaze from his balcony to the courtyard below where a score and a half of wolves kept themselves, with a desire he was amongst them who whimpered and licked at his hands in subservience. he searched amongst them, not the strongest, or the fastest, but the one who had that spark, the cunning he needed to command. He found one in a younger wolf but not a pup who he pulled apart from the rest of the pack as Animus cut open his palm, instinctively the wolf tried to lick the wound closed and tasted the vampires blood. It yelped, whimpered, howled and started to scream as it changed by forming into a digitrade biped while its bones and muscles broke or tore and realigned for the transformation. After an hour of agony, a werewolf rose up and then bowed to his master.
    Go, tear down the fences of the villages and guide the animals of the farm to me. Oxen, sheep, pigs, they are to be UN-HARMED as they enter my castle. You may cull the sick and weak as it is your job in life to do so to keep their herd strong but no more than that. Feast on the farmers if you desire, they are no mind to me, now go.
    Todari stretched as he rose from his tomb, where he had been sealed, in the center of the dark forest he had nurtured to hide his castle. Gathering all of his meager powers (for now) Todari sent out his call. Waiting for his surviving minions to respond, Todari noticed there was a young doe and her fawn nearby weaving a weak illusion around them, Todari slowly made his way to them. Slipping up behind them, Todari thought Hmm my sword would make this process so much easier and quieter before grabbing both behind the necks, and his hands glowing faintly with dark magic, broke their necks and absorbing their life force. As he dropped the lifeless corpses, Todari turned around to see the first of his minions arriving. At the end of the wait there was at least 30 imps and about 5 trolls (all armed with their swords or hammers). Looking around he noticed with quiet pleasure that his general,Gromet Ironfire (for reference, he looks like this http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__...byss_Troll.png), among the ranks, Todari had created Gromet in the beginning of his reign, from 2 imps and a troll therefor he had the strength of a troll with the intelligence and fighting capability of 2 imps, and he was the only surviving general of Todari's army. Kneeling along with the rest Gromet said "Master."
    Todari responded "Rise my loyal servants, we go to the castle." His minions rose and along with him made their way towards the castle. When they reached it the castle was, as expected, in ruins. Todari wasted no time snapping off orders "Gromet! Have 15 imps and the trolls begin rebuilding the castle from the caves up, have 10 imps begin hunting for food in the forest, and have the remaining ones begin mining for minerals..the trolls will need them. Walking towards the castle as Gromet began snapping off orders the imps and trolls hurrying to obey him. Walking through the rubble strewn rooms to his vault. Walking towards the vault door he noticed it was open. Smiling sightly, Todari walked through to the expected sight of the looters being frozen in time and space by his spell. There was about 6 including two small children. One by one Todari walked up to them, set his hand on their shoulders and watched as they grew old and died as their life forces were drained. Then walking towards the only chest in the room, all his other gold,jewels and other such valuables having being sold in the last days of the war effort, he opened it and drew his blade, secured it and picked up his mask putting it on his face and feeling it secure around his head turning it into a helmet. Todari said in a chilling voice "Now is the time to RISE"
    Orla travelled as a shadow might. Her black cloak surrounded her body and head, and she kept her glances towards the ground. She stepped over twigs and limbs, though she kept her steps light enough to not make any loud noises and scare anything away. Instead it was almost like she was a part of the landscape, practically floating as she headed north of Courtwald. She had stopped briefly in Courtwald, finding the taverns there to have rather excellent drink, before moving on. She was given a few odd looks, but most of the residents seemed to not mind a stranger since she didn’t stay very long. She had bartered her way from a ship sailing out of Blackwell, though the captain didn’t take much convincing before he let her onboard. Orla smirked as she walked through the terrain and stood, her cold grey eyes flashing completely black briefly, though her curly blonde hair stayed, tickling her nose as a breeze rushed by her. Her cloak whipped around her pale form, and she gingerly entered the mine territory.
    She had heard of people disappearing that lived around Courtwald. Many had stories to tell, and like usual, it wasn’t hard to get them to talk. She had been on a quest to find employment by a worthy master for months now. Apparently, there was someone who reveled in shrouding himself in mystery… something Orla was rather familiar with herself… involved in these disappearances, or so some of the locals assumed. Intrigued, she knew who she would be working for next, whether he/she felt he needed her services or not, Orla expected he/she would find her offer hard to refuse. She had consulted dark spirits, and knew the time to kill the humans was neigh. And she would be a part of it.
    Her wide eyes peeked around this corner and that, following her psychic perception that lead her to feel some dark presences all around, though there was one stronger leading her on. As she continued in the direction her gut told her, she was lead closer to the dark energy she sought.
    Deep within the woods north of Courtwald, miles even from the nearest village stood Accerak, surrounded by the large trees of these woods and four of his dark elves, each carrying paired sword,, their black scale mail oiled to make almost no sound as they moved keeping a constant vigil to ensure no danger came close to their master. As silent as the shadows cast by great oaks which surrounded them one dark elf quickly advanced towards Accerak, taking a knee before him and placing one fist upon the ground, his head bowed as well. For the barest of moments Accerak bade him no head, gazing instead around as the pure morning sunlight filtered down through the green leaves, bringing it's light and beauty to these great woods, scattering the darkness which had encompassed i for the night. As the moment passed though Accerak looked down from the greenery of the woods and brown of the trees and soil to the dark elf before him and bade him to stand with his hand as he began to speak, "This human, you are certain he is already skilled in stealth and with bow?"
    With clear deference in his voice the dark elf responded to his master, "Yes, our outer scouts during the night almost missed him as he came into these woods, he is alone and armed with a bow and shortsword, we do not believe he hunts us, only the animals of these woods."
    Taking another moment to look about the forest again noting the peacefulness of it all as only now birds and other small animals began to stir Accerak began to walk back the way the dark elf had come, the dark elves all falling into formation about him, hands resting on the pommels of swords or grips of crossbows, always ready for the slightest indication of an attack, just as he had made them. Paranoia of an enemy descending upon them was as much a part of who they were as their dark skin, their inhuman eyes, or even their fanatical loyalty to him, their savior.
    It took only a few moments for their quiet trek to come close enough for Accerak to spy the hunter between the trees, he was indeed silent, and seemed very perceptive, though not quite perceptive enough to see through the illusion Accerak had cast about himself or see the 2 dark elf warriors working their way ever closer to the man, in a flash it began and it a flash it was over. The closest warrior left from his hiding place at the hunter, her jet black hair a blur as she struck, the human managed to drop his bow and draw his shortsword to block one strike the second sword she carried nicked the man's abdomen. For a moment he stepped back in pain, then confusion overtook his face as he collapsed. Blocking one blow from his warriors was impressive, and with his natural stealth he would make a great warrior within Accerak's forces, if of course he survived the trials he was soon to enter. Two more warriors seemed almost to form from shadows as they stepped forth to help carry the now unconscious human. Turning now to the dark elf who stood near him, "Go with them, he is to be placed in my lab like the others,"
    Saying nothing the dark elf merely inclined his head before taking off to join the three warriors who now were making off with the human, Accerak was preparing to head back to his cave with the rest of his minions when he suddenly felt something, some strange feeling that was familiar yet completely alien, as though something was probing at his mind. Turning to look south he somehow new something or someone was there, without looking at his guards he gave them he quetly gave them an order, "Scatter, stay within sight and hearing but do nothing unless I call or something poses a direct danger." Like that they were gone, two climbing tress and unlimbering their crossbows, their eyes scanning every ounce of the forest floor for any potential threat they may have missed while the other two faded into the vegetation nearby. Accerak did not enjoy surprises and he felt as though he was about to have one.
    “Enemies of the Imperium, hear me. You have come here to die. The Immortal Emperor is with us and we are invincible. His soldiers will strike you down. His war machines will crush you under their treads. His mighty guns will bring the very sky crashing down upon you. You cannot win. The Emperor has given us his greatest weapon to wield. So make yourselves ready. We are the Imperial Guard, and your doom is upon you. "
    His bones crackled as he picked himself up from the cold hard stone floor that had been his bed for some centuries. Alive still? Seeking closure he looked about the room, there had been the door when he first entered here now covered in cobwebs , the wood warped and old. his gazed wandered towards the window looking for something to tell him the age he was now. The grass in the courtyard had withered leaving dirt and rock in its place, the trees too had long since died, none of the hob nobs that had wandered around remained , joyfully laughing and talking as he sat from his room, remembering the wars he had endured, wondering what it might be like to have been one of happy folk , able to live peacefully, able to die. dead, yes, they were dead now.
    Staring at the ceiling with his empty eye sockets , he thought allowed, "Perhaps its time to find a new master, this time, one that wont die nor betray me" with that he opened the old wooden door, the hinges snapping and the door itself collapsing.
    The room he had now entered was different from the quiet room he was in, or the peaceful courtyard he had viewed. Skeletal corpses skewed the corridor, there were warriors that had been shot with arrows, other had been clearly been stabbed, in some, rusty old swords were left, stuck between rib cages and forgotten. very few of the warriors wore pertrified fur armor and dusty horned caps/ the savages from the north had finally attacked? it was just as well, as his employment had ended when his master had stopped searching for his shadow, the very shadow that retained his lost soul, and began warmongering amongst the other states completely forgetting the search. but had I really been asleep through all this? where was his now dead master? looking around he spotted a skeletal hand beneath the door, lifting is he found his dead king. The poor oaf must of been trying to wake me, pounding scratching at the door as the intruders had made their way in. he dropped the wooden door straight on the corpse, took a sword from one of the corpses and a shield from a skeletal guard and made his way out the building.
    Orla was beginning to feel as if she had already been here… though that couldn’t be. Every tree looked similar, and yet she was on the right path. She felt many presences closing in, with her drawing even closer to the strong one that she felt she would determine to be a male. She smirked to herself; precisely what she wanted. She opened her arms out of her cloak, letting her fingertips drag along aging oak bark, as her white velvet gown hugged her, keeping her warm from the wind that kept hitting her.
    As Orla stepped around a rather large, tall tree, her eyes pegged a few dark figures in the distance, apparently concealing themselves in the leaves of a tree. She stood very still, close to the tree and watched them. They seemed hazy, as if they weren’t actually there, and yet she knew that they were. “Magic,” she whispered to no one in particular. Being practiced in creating illusionary barriers herself, she probed through this one enough to know this was not a friendly welcome. Weapons were being pointed in her direction. She took a deep breath, trying to keep her appearance in her normal, calm state that was less threatening to look at.
    She stepped out from the side of the tree, walking right down the middle of the woods where there was little cover and little to conceal her. She made a slow, cautious movement to lower her black hood. She gave a knowing, almost pitying smile and held out her arms to reveal she had no weapons. She telekinetically removed her cloak and turned once just in case. “Hello!” she called, her voice echoing and bouncing off this tree and that as she felt the presence she sought was closer than she had been expecting.
    What Accerak saw was perhaps the last thing he expected to come before him, some dainty little girl wandering through the woods, he expected some warrior come to defeat, or maybe some other dark lord who survived the purges, instead he had this before him. Only, she was not quite what she seemed, that feeling he had of something probing at the edges of his mind was clearly emanating from her, she was not what she appeared to be and as she took off her cloak revealing it was empty and watching her eyes he realized that she could see his guards. Whatever this girl was he needed to learn more about her, hearing her greeting he thought for a moment before responding, "Hello."
    Looking up at one of his guards readying his crossbow Accerak subtly waved him back and the dark elf began to move back from his position, the girl seemed to not be too afraid of his guards now if she noticed them and did not flee but he did not want to scare her off, there was something about her he needed to know, for some reason he felt a strange draw to her and wanted her alive to learn more about it. "It is alright, you may come closer," Accerak projected his voice to ensure it carried through the woods, carefully he watched her every movement, he needed information from her.
    “Enemies of the Imperium, hear me. You have come here to die. The Immortal Emperor is with us and we are invincible. His soldiers will strike you down.     The rebuilding of the castle was going well Gromet reported. The old mines had been reopened, the caves for food, water, and other such necessities where open, the castle forges where belching flames again as the trolls, in their cave with a natural lava lake and river nearby, worked on improving, repairing, and creating weapons and armor. Walking out of his treasury room and past Gromet saying, "Wait outside my summoning room, I'll have new recruits." Todari marveled at the speed in which a few cave ins could be removed if one had trolls. Walking through the main hall Todari paused as he remembered the last days. The urgency as hundreds of imps and trolls and other creatures prepared for the assault on the castle his generals snapping out orders and preparing for the battle themselves.
    His meditation as he drew his vast dark power away from the illusion as the army came to the field outside of the castle. The armies of good and justice, as they had disgustingly called themselves, had issued a warning, surrender now and him and his army would be spared. Todari had responded by tearing the messenger apart with dark tendrils he had summoned. War horns bellowed and the army of good charged. Hundreds died from the arrows, boulders, and bombs thrown by the defenders and still they came. They broke down the doors. They fought inch by bloody inch towards his thrown room. Most of his generals were dead by the time they got to his room he drew his sword-.
    Shaking his head out of the past, Todari continued on his way towards the summoning room. It was a dark room with only a pit in the center, and runes on the round, circular, walls and floor and the back of the door, which he shut when summoning, the runes where to ensure that nothing escaped without swearing allegiance to him and to ensure that what he wanted to summon was summoned not something else. He used this room to create new servants, or summon more. In this instance he was going to summon 10 more servants. 5 imps and 5 trolls. Muttering in the language of shadows, Todari lifted his hand, a ball of dark purple fire appeared. Walking towards the pit with the ball dropping bits of flame on the ground, Todari threw the ball into the pit. Immediately a massive bonfire of dark purple flames appeared in it.
    Muttering in the language of shadows, Todari made a circular motion with his hand. 10 small whirlpools appeared in the flames, 5 slightly larger than the others. Still muttering in the language, Todari made a "come hither" motion towards the whirlpools. The smallest whirlpools came forward slowly growing larger and coming together. When they were one whirlpool, Todari did a final pulling motion towards the whirlpool, Five imps popped out, each kneeling after they had landed. With a wave of his hand Todari dispelled the large single whirlpool and repeated the process for the final 5 whirlpools, as with the imps 5 trolls popped out all kneeling.
    Turning around and opening the door, Todari said "Cloth and arm them, I want the imps on mining duty, and the trolls go where you think they are most needed." Nodding his assent Gromet began snapping orders out and the 10 new minions began scrambling to follow his orders. Walking back towards the main hall, Todari was about to go recuperate from the summoning, when he froze. He sensed something out in his woods, something ancient and....undead. I'll eat along the way Todari thought. Seeing him leave Gromet snapped orders at five of the 15 imps rebuilding the castle, and they all took up formation around him. Opening the door, Todari began to stride with purpose towards the energy he had felt, after putting an illusion of invisibility around him and the imps.
    As Orla smirked at the dark elves up in the trees, she heard a male voice respond to her hello, and her gaze immediately fell to the area in front of her. She bent down inch by inch as her hand reached back and slowly picked up her cloak. She buttoned it at her neck once more, keeping her hood off as she stood and stepped forward, not bothering to acknowledge that the elves were moving back. She closed her eyes briefly and pushed back against the illusion around her. When she opened her eyes once more, she could see everything this man was hiding… namely himself and a cave she assumed was where any other guards would be. She finally made eye contact with the man and probed his mind subtly, knowing this was the presence she had been drawn to all across the forest. This was the man the villagers should fear.
    Orla smiled sweetly, walking up to him, only to stop a few feet from him, her eyes never leaving his. She felt his dark aura intermingling with hers, before extending her hand towards him. “Thank you for welcoming me,” she said. When she had approached, she hadn’t been sure whether or not he would attempt to ward her off or kill her, as so many other lords and warriors had done in the past. She had been prepared to fight back, but this was a much more welcome surprise… having him call out to her to draw near. “I believe you are who I’ve been looking for,” she whispered, trying to let her eyes not flash dark and give herself away just yet, though they may have briefly darkened or twinkled suspiciously. She took in his reddish eyes, gruff looking face with a scar across his eye, and wavy hair touching his cheeks. The symbols of magic adorning his jewelry she spied only made her smile grow bigger.
