Chief took point. Signalling the unit to stop as he saw the drop ship. It dropped off the easy grunts first. Chief had no problem dealing with this pest. The Elites were a bit more concerning. A few of them could create a problem. The hunter was the worst. At least he had Kelly beside him. "Quinn, Mark. Think you can draw their fire? While me an Kelly flank them. I want that Hunter taken out. ASAP" He said. Thinking. He paused awaiting their response, and hopefully the input of Alice.
"Sure. I'll happily play the decoy. I won't even bother with the old aiming. Just point and shoot for ya" Mark replied laughing. He took cover, leaning onto a rock and aiming the assault rifle towards the enemy. "On your mark" He said smiling.

" I can do distraction." She chuckled a bit and nodded to Mark as they took up their positions and got ready to create some havoc. When the signal was given the two marines opened fire, the gun Quinn had defiantly had an interesting kick to it, it was like nothing Kelly atleast had ever seen.
Alice was quietly listening to the chatter coming from the Covenant. " Boy they really don't like Spartans." She said not wanting to insult Kelly and John by translating.

"What's not to like?" Chief asked, as he ran far right. To flank them. A grunt spotted the move, but was put down by the distraction fire. When he was near lined up to the middle of the group. He threw a frag and rolled. He didn't have time to spot the damage, and instead rushed the group. An elite had his shield lowered. Met a Magnum end, He hoped Kelly was in time to deal with the other Elite. The Hunter turned his attention to Chief. Chief rolled away from a blast. Throwing his last frag.
Mark was busy trying to provide covering fire, once the Chief came into view and had an Angry hunter on his hands. "Lasky? Have you powered up a Mac round? Chief has a problem. I think we can lend a hand?" He asked over the comms. Smiling. He looked to Quinn. "Watch what we can do back to them covies"

" I'm sure we could throw something his way." Lasky said from the Corbulo. " I'll have to do it manually, EDI's giving me the cold shoulder, it may of been something our other A.I. friend said." He said initiating the procedures to have a MAC ready to launch. " Give me thirty seconds then we're hot." He chuckled, giving them time to take cover atleast.
" Hmmm, Chief, it might be a good idea to take cover. The Corbulo just locked a Mac round onto our position." Alice reported as Kelly took a head on approach with a good ol' shotgun raised and started unloading 'buck shot' into our friend. When she was empty, and close enough to do so, she smacked the covvie in the face with the but of the shot gun and pulled out her magnum while he was stunned and unloaded a handful of bullets into his head.

"Would they hit me if I don't move?" The Chief asked. He didn't want to turn his back to this hunter. He turned his head slightly, to see Kelly unloading onto the remaining Elite. "Mac round coming in hot? Take cover or stay put?" He asked. They would probably survive the blast, unless it was a full on hit. Chief kept firing small 3 burst rounds from his assault rifle. To hold the attention of the Hunter while they made their choice.
"That's okay. Fire it when ready!" He shouted back. He had no need to fire on the Hunter. He was out of range. And it'd be dead in no time. He turned to have his back leaning on the rock."Isn't this fun?" He asked Quinn with a big grin. He liked being able to be free from the Bridge of a ship, at least every now and then.

" The round itself wouldn't be a direct hit. " She said calculating trajectory, " Debris on the other hand..." She said, making a point, sometimes the debris from a large round is more dangerous then the round itself, early humans found this out when they began using the cannon.
" Alright, firing in three, two, one..." He counted down before launching the missile locked onto the hunter.

Chief decided it was best to avoid contact with the round. He ran and then rolled to the side. Turning to see a glowing bolt hit into the hunter. The hunter was hit. Easily piercing through the hunter. That round could tear through ships. "Confirmed kill" Chief said over open comms. He moved over to inspect the dead corpse. "Alice, want to record this down. Mac Vs hunter. Mac wins" He said, thinking the picture would probably be gruesome to some. But inspire Marines and all who lost loved ones to one of these nasty creatures. Would be happy.Mark allowed a small cheer over their victory. "Good Job Lasky. Load another. Never know when they'll come in handy" Mark said laughing. He stood. Offering Quinn a hand up. "Best go regroup with the squad." He said smiling.

Kelly managed to roll out of the way before the round hit, and narrowly missed a large chunk of rock that went flying her way. " Bit over kill don't you think?" She asked laughing as they walked up to investigate and make sure the hunter was actually down.
" Alright, the entry's made." Alice reported and a split second later, it was like a radio picking up static. Behind the white noise a voice was heard it sounded like Alice yet... It wasn't... It was hard to make it out, but it asked a question. " Do they succeed because at their core they are all broken?" Then there was a defense made by an insulted Halsey... " Do not doubt my Spartans." Then, the static just keep repeating, often overlapping itself " They're broken..."
Quinn took Mark's hand and stood up. " Lets, not use up all our rounds on ground troops shall we?" She asked Mark, giving him advice as his chief technician.

Chief looked at the Hunter. He didn't smile. He wasn't overly happy. He was glad that it was the hunter and not him dead. They were both of the same though. Both two soldiers fighting in a war that wasn't of their doing. Alice rambling on snapped him out of his thoughts. His hands came beside the helmet. Almost as if he were ready to throw it off. He didn't. "Alice. You need to calm down." He said, calmly. "I'll get you checked out once on the Ship" He said.
"We have an all?" He said smiling as he walked towards Chief & Kelly. "I didn't know we had a limit you see. I thought they were in endless supply" He said smiling again. "That was some grade-A fighting. Kelly, Chief. Good job"

" No, everything has a limit. True, for those we happen to have a good number of, but still there is a limit." Quinn said as they approached the Spartans. She had a frown on her face noting how the Master Chief was acting, his use of Alice secretly did worry her. She knew of Alice's "Mother Program" that their A.I. friend had basically been cloned from, and what she did when she went rampant. True, GLaDOS went rampant four times faster then Alice, but still the end result is almost guaranteed to be the same.
Alice took a moment to try and rake up her fragments that were acting up. " Please don't." She said coming in and out. " If an official report is filed... they'll decommission me..." She said, and unlike a normal A.I. whom when they are 'decommissioned' are just put in a drawer and forgotten, Alice was heading strait for 'Android Hell', better known as the Incinerator.
" Problem Chief?" Kelly asked also noting the team leader's strange behavior.
