This story will be basically about young super heroes from the modern era who have survived a cataclysmic event on earth. The end days have come and gone, most of all the heroes, villains and super powered teams were killed in the event. Only a few younger less experienced heroes and villains have survived, and that was only because they hid and waited out the storm. The Earth’s magnetic poles have shifted causing a wave of destructive weather unlike any ever previously seen. The world’s governments tried to hold out as long as possible but after a time they were forced to pull back and seek desperate measures. Soon chaos was the only thing left, the struggle for power and life filters out the week and new strains of sickness and disease kill most of the rest. Mr. Impossible the strongest of all the old heroes slowly falls to corruption and becomes what he once fought to kill out. Mr. Impossible slowly transforms from the most loved man on Earth to the most feared villain. He shuns his former title and takes on a new sinister title, Dark Reign.
Dark Reign takes control of what’s left of the world with the help of his strong super powered minions and the Earth is plunged into a new dark ages. A small group of young adult, super powered survivors has formed and decided to make a stand against Dark Reign and his evil castle of doom.

Background History: Kara was born with too much bone in her body, a few of which broke when she was born since they weren’t supposed to be developed yet. The doctors performed surgery to remove the excess bone growth, but the bone growth continued. The eventually told her parents that she had reduced activity of osteoclasts, meaning she inherited a mutant version of the genes needed to form normal osteoclast function. This meant her bones would be much denser, which actually makes bones more brittle. She therefore had a lot of broken bones growing up, though they healed almost immediately. And it meant her bone marrow would fill in, interfering with her normal production of blood cells. Luckily, she hasn’t been sick a day in her life from her condition. As she grew up, she found her bones would grow so exponentially, that they began sticking out of her skin painfully. First was one of her ribs. She broke it off and pulled, not being able to wait on surgery, and healed right away and felt fine even though the break and pulling through her skin hurt more than anything. As her bones continued this process, she began a collection of her bones. The doctors became increasingly concerned and talked her parents into putting her on a sort of treatment to slow the bone growth. She was at this point, 14 years old and at her full height of 5’7”. Her parents agreed, and they began administering the shots. They halted Kara’s growth completely, however, and her body began reacting violently, trying to rid itself of the medicine. The doctors began lowering the dosage after that, causing her bone growth to simply slow down. It was at this point that Kara began learning to control her mutation. She found that she could break a bone, and her body would push it out and re-grow a new one. She secretly began doing this process with her forearm, and shooting the bones in her recurve bow towards a target in the backyard. She would break her rib bones and use them like daggers. She found her leg bones to be too important to break. A momentary slip wasn’t worth it. A brief limp arm and chest pain she learned to deal with. That was, until her parents found out what she was doing. They found the whole thing incredibly morbid… that she would ever think to use her own bones as weapons, and gave her an ultimatum. Move out or have the doctors increase her medicine dosage again. Kara, then 18, refused, and moved out. She has only continued in her quest to conquer her mutation and yet still appear normal to the rest of the world. At this point, age 22, Kara has spent the last year stopping crime around the city she lives in in secret. She doesn’t want anyone to know who she is, afraid others would find her morbid or disgusting like her parents. Besides, a college student moonlighting as a waitress isn’t very threatening, and she doesn’t want her normal life threatened by this vigilante work she likes to do. Of course, she isn’t an angel. If she catches a thief, she’ll often help herself to their loot before the police get there. She hadn’t spoken to her parents in 4 years, when the apocalypse happened. Thanks to working for a rather wealthy older man who helped his employees escape when it hit, she was saved. Now that almost everything is destroyed, she doesn’t see much use for her secret identity, but she hasn’t officially decided whether or not to reveal herself or not. She also carries around with her the weight of never resolving her disagreement with her parents, and continues her vigilante-ish work, not finding herself worthy or prepared enough to take on Dark Reign in her own mind.
