I started roleplaying seriously six years ago when I was exploring the Runescape forums and found the roleplaying forum there. I quickly grew disinterested in the game itself, but fell in love with the forum and picked up on how to roleplay in a heartbeat. I was also an active member and co-owner of several other roleplaying forums. I only just came to this forum recently when one of my roleplaying friends recruited me, since the Runescape one we RPed on together has gone way downhill.

Two years here. Originally started on a large forum not really dedicated to RP, but had a sub-forum for it. Had a blast playing, even though the quality of my writing was... eh. Than I moved onto a different, much smaller site, which still wasn't really focused on RP. Than, I wanted to really get into good writing and stuff, so I moved onto here, a more roleplay-oriented site.

He! I play for more then 15 years (D&D mostly). Why, well as a player I just like being part of an adventure, but I'm even more fan of telling stories & creating dungeons. So that basicly keeps me playing. Apart from that I also get a lot of inspiration from the game, and it has for sure kickstarted my carreer as a (game)artist/maker. -oh and, most important- I can get along really well with my fellow players, who over time all became my best friends
    Sure I'll draw your character!

I first started out with role play a number of years ago. Yes, it was a Star Trek role play. But, it gets a few members and they start to fight about how it should be this way or that way. They love to bitch about their rank. And, you have to deal with it. Most of the time, it may last a few weeks before the administrator gets bored and leaves. Most time you want to make a post and the site is closed. I hate to make like a 100 post and all my work gets dumped.

But this place is different. If the story ends, well, there are new people to make postings.

I cannot believe how long I've put into this hobby of mine.

I began RPing after I got into college. At first it was a chance to read what I wanted to, which was a way to direct a story into where I was interested in it going, instead of having to accept the writer's ideas. Then it became a desire to just have a break from the day to day.

Now, it is a chance to play with writing without having to get all edit'y and crazy about perfection, an opportunity to have a product (as my job hasn't a set product and can seem like insanity at times), and a chance to let my internal archetypes have a heyday after a long day at work.

That, or, it's just a way to get a quick reward for little effort. Could be that too. At least I'm not putting money into a slot machine.

Not too much, about two years in forum, kinda four in real life.

My topics are always dark with characters who had some conflict with the way society works. That or either insane characters.
Also I love to make them suffer.
    I guess that motivates me.
Besides entering into an RP means to fit your character into the rules of that RP, but also applying your touch to them, the way it fits the more into the story.

I started role playing with dungeons and dragons. First character I ever made was a human cleric namer Dorin Moonscar. I instantly loved roleplaying. I didn't really figure out how big it really was until a few years after when I descovered roleplay forums and SCA.

Goodness I started role playing in the 8th grade, starting with script writing then around 2008 I actually began writing in paragraph form, I believe its been about 10 years or so. What has kept me interested?. The plots absolutely, the people I meet.

Started in 1997 or 1998 on Yahoo Chat.
That's when my online RP experiences started, but I think my tabletop career started before then, when I picked up a shiny new copy of Mekton Zeta in my local RP and Wargames store, which has sadly departed a long time since. I still have that original book, too. It's looking a little beaten and worn out now, sadly. But I love it so much I have another copy. I'm even using the same ruleset now, in an ongoing campaign.

My RP experiences were very varied to start off with, I ended up playing a lot of games I wasn't especially interested in, simply because my friends did want to play them, and I was the black sheep of the group. Now though, it seems like there's a lot more interest in SF or Modern games then there used to be.

I've been playing PnP RPGs since I was in the 6th grade, starting making my own from scratch since the 7th grade. I'm 38 now, so yeah it's been a long time. I don't play now days mainly because everyone I know is so absorbed in WoW or one of it's many clones that they can't be bothered to even feed themselves.

My daughter still comes around every few months (she lives in Japan now, I'm in Oklahoma) and she's always got her MektonZ character sheet in hand hoping I've got an adventure set up and ready.
