Carmen did make a point, and he felt like she earned an answer if only for her trouble. Leo wasted no time ditching them to take off on his hover sword. "Seriously, I need to get one of those." he thought to himself. He turned his attention back to Carmen, and making and effort to rework his throat, spoke in a quiet, but calm voice, "It's not for a lack of trying that crime is so bad here. Honestly it seems that are presences has only caused the crime rate to rise. It seems a great deal of people don't want law enforcement, and prefer things stay easy for them. Still things will get better for we are at the peak of the chaos, and from here on things will only get better. I let the girl and her father go, because simply throwing every criminal on the street into jail isn't gonna change anything. The people are the ones that need to change, and start believe that they don't need to turn to crime just to survive. It's true that that girl and her father learned nothing and will do the same thing they did to me to someone else, but if not then that Two more people believe in a better future, and that's what I value more then a thug less street. Cause a lot of these people didn't know there was any other way to live, so I can't blame them for doing what they've always know. Do understand now?" Carl gives her a thoughtful look, and any anger he had seemed to have vanished.

Carmen too turned towards the signal, rolling her eyes as her earlier point was only reinforced. From the distance, the sounds of successive detonations echoed loudly through where they stood, likely the source of another robbery. But contrary to what she had seen of the Cops so far, Leo wasted no time in his depart, disappearing around the far street corner via quite an unexpected transport vehicle.
Having somewhat regained his voice, the other cop readily explained their situation. Always one for gaining information where she could, Carmen listened intently and without question.

She giggled a second time, placing her arms at her sides, "You're a good talker, I'll give you that. But it takes more than just optimism to fix a dump like this. It works great as a coverup, but..."
Her view raised to Carl's left, watching the last of Leo's energy trail fade into the sweeping mists. "...Sounds to me like you're just lacking in numbers."

Carl smiles at the girls response, "Perhaps you would be intrested in evening the odds then, despite my optimistic views. I do realize that the fight for peace is an up hill battle, and the more resources I have the better odds at making my dream a reality. So, my young dere. Want to help me turn this chaotic world on it's head? I can't say it will be easy, but I can throw some pay, a badge, and a pair of shinny magic handcuffs." He reaches into his pack and holds up a pair of strange looking handcuffs that seemed to change color overtime, giving them a rainbow effect.

Carmen gave Carl yet another stern look, mutually questioning the title he had addressed her with.
"...Hold up." Though the officer had taken her hints as intended, his ending words turned her disapproving glare to one of scepticism. "You're actually one of the guys in charge here??"

Carl's confidence shattered, and he became very nervous, "Oh Oh well ah. You may have some pull in the higher ups. B-but that's a long story, so back to the topic at hand. Would you be intrested in becoming a Cop." Carl steadies his breathing, then takes a breath and regaining his composure continues, "Well I mean I would be very happy to have you as part of the team." He bows his head waiting for her response.

"No try-out, no interview, no background checks? Nothing about what happened a minute ago here..." Carmen's tone could not match her expression any better, as she tilted her head in sheer disbelief. "Sure I need the money, but just what sort of operation are you asking me into here?!"

Carl looks up at her and kind of turns his head, "Well we a protectors and peace keepers, so we do whatever brings about peace. honestly there is a great deal to be done. As for back ground checks. Where the hell have you been the past two years? Most people from new worlds show up everyday with no records of any kind. So, a back ground check is quite pointless really, so I'm just gonna go by my gut feeling here. You seem like a good person despite your profession and I can always use good people, and as for what happened a minute ago. Meh. I don't hold grudges." Carl just gives her a mischievous smile, "Besides your just to cute for me to stay mad at."

    • Walking along, trying to enjoy the cigars he was smoking, Strakhov looked up towards the dark skies, a small smile on his lips. It was a beautiful night, filled with many unpredictable events and a lot of stress relief. Knowing that he could rid the streets of these idiots was great, something the Queen would be quite proud of. Although he wasn’t able to aid his comrades in the war against the Cygnar, he could still help the people of the land, one value he can carry anywhere. And who knows, maybe much more was awaiting him in the dark night, maybe this would even be his last night. Strakhov would be ready for anything; war had prepared him for all encounters.

Taking a good puff from his cigar, he flicked the ashes off the tip, pulled the barrel out to check on the ammunition he had loaded right now. Five spread shots, three slugs, a smoke grenade and an incendiary, good enough to take care of any situation he could face before reloading completely. Quite satisfied of it, he flicked it back into place, and rolled it. He then actually took the time to look around him. Still within a small alleyway and he was surprised no one had jumped at his throat yet. A vulnerable, ignorant man walking alone in the dark scary streets… Well the size and weapons should have made a few turn around.

It was getting quiet, other than the sound of the peace keepers probably arriving at the scene of the attack. He wasn’t going to worry too much about that, it was lending them a hand, they would probably understand. But he then caught the sound of some walking, although it was only faint. Not sure what was happening, but didn’t bother. Chances were that whoever was around wouldn’t try to harm him if he was alone. And to the Kommander’s greatest surprise, someone behind him had actually said something. It had been a while he had been called Sir, ever since he left the war. The Kommander turned around, noticed a somewhat young man.

The man holding the massive sword explained himself for speaking to him, in which he laughed lightly and nodded his head. He wasn’t stupid; he knew very well, he was probably the one who had done this to the poor bastards. And so Strakhov bowed sarcastically before standing straight and his arms going on each side, not holding anything.

‘You are welcome comrade. You missed four other ones in another alley, surprised so many are able to carry guns with them. I’m rendering service to this city, getting rid of the filth of the street. Any other thing you would like to know comrade?’

It was only after his remark that he noticed that small piece of metal on his chest. It was a sign of the peace keepers… Which was quite odd. The peace keepers in his home land had uniforms and actual standard gear. This man seemed to only carry knifes… He wondered what kind of people were hired to keep the peace.

"So, just as lawless as any other..." Carmen said dismissively with a sigh - which was but another facade, as she really held no reason to be disappointed. Her right arm awkwardly crossed her stomach as the officer grinned; as unsettling as his remarks were, she much hoped the income she was promised would compensate for tolerating them...

"Your HQ's not far from here if I heard right," her other hand lifted confidently towards where Carl had been headed himself not too long ago. Assuming from this he didn't have a ride of his own, reaching their base first would be necessary were he to still catch up to Leo. "You won't mind if we talk finance on the way?"

"Uh sure, I guess we better get the issues of fiance out of the way, but please understand that we are a starting organization so we can only pay so much. I do however keep an important role in recruitment, so we can talk along the way." He starts jogging towards HQ.

    [Some running and talking later]

They arrive at the out of place skyscrapper that made the Cops main headquarters. Carl went right inside hopefully followed by Carmen, and went to a long counter with several windows signafying that more staff work there. he walks up to one particular window marked "Cordinator" the lady looked up at Carl and sighed, then speaking in a very formal voice, "Hello Carl. I see you have returned early from your rounds. Care to explain why?" Carl just gives her the same goofy grin she gave Carmen, "Oh just found a new recruit and she looks like she could be a very skilled one at that. So, I need you to give her the standard set for a Sargent." The lady at the desk gives Carmen a very skeptical look, then looks at Carl, "Are you sure she's worth that promotion. She looks like she'd go down if you sneezed to hard." Carl just keeps smiling, "Oh I'm positive, so can you get them for her and also a couple bikes, we need to move quick to respond to an incident, so please hurry." The girl just looks at him a moment then picks up the radio, "Armory this is HQ we have a request for a basic Sargent kit order 3314, please have it down here on the double. Over." *Chatter* "Roger that. Over" says a voice. She switches the frequency, "Transportation this is HQ we have a request for two bikes one normal and Carl's usual, to be brought out to the front. Over." "Copy. OVer"[/COLOR] says a voice. She puts down the radio, and looks at Carl, "There it's called in now just sit and wait." Carl smiled even bigger, "Thank you Wendy you can carry on now." She rolls her eyes, then returns her attention to her papers. Carl strolls over to Carmen and mations for her to sit on a bench infront of a coffe table. A few minutes later an elevator to the left opens and two guys dressed in combat gear run over a case in each hand. Carl waves to them and they come over, and lay the case on the table in front of Carl and open them. Inside both cases is: an assault riffle, a shotgun, several types of grenades mostly stun and flash, a bullet proof vest, a large stun rod, and a pair of magic cuffs like the ones Carl had. Carl looks at Carmen and grins, "Well take your pick. We will get you your picture ID later, but for now here is a blank badge." One of the men hands her a gold Colored badge. After Carmen makes her choice they will go outside and be greeted by the sight of two motorcycles. One that looked like a regular traffic bike, and the other bike was some kind of steam punk monstrosity.
