Haven listened to James ramble on, only half paying attention as her heels clicked along the pavement while she walked with him. She nodded politely along, realizing he did have money, but it wasn’t inherited, just worked hard for. She could respect that in some way. She was getting a little bored of talking. She just wanted to feed, though she smiled when James said they could go to his place.
“Well, I will say I’m used to spending the night in nice places, but it would be nice to be at your place either way,” she said, her voice high pitched and sweet as they walked past her apartment and headed towards his. She didn’t want him lying in her bed all day after she left him. He’d need somewhere to rest after she drained him of almost all his energy. She held his hand, swinging their arms slightly as she let him lead her to where he lived, mentally preparing herself to spend the night on probably an old mattress and pillows without pillow cases while stepping over clothes on the floor.
