But the main reason why I like the idea of putting this a little bit into the future is that it'll give us a little more leeway with what the bad folk do. Means they can do crazier things to keep the players under line.

I'm interested in the core idea, but held back by the futuristic elements; I'd rather play a normal person without any of that stuff, but having "bad guys" being physically altered to be superior and thus create tension is fine.

This idea is fantastic, although I'm not really interested in the cyberpunk or scifi theme. I'd much rather it be modern day. And I love the suitcase idea! I can just see bashing someone in the head with it and money goes flying everywhere!
