Dark Shadows is AWESOME!!
They're both sports, and I'm not exactly sure which is harder since I've only ever tried one. I guess gymnastics has more variety and that's probably the reason for its inclusion in the Olympics and the consensus view that it's harder/better/more valid as a sport.
I'm not exactly sure what you're asking, though, because you seem to be rallying against everyone's answers.
Do I dare
Disturb the universe?
In a minute there is time
For decisions and revisions which a minute will reverse.

Alicia Keys - Brand New Me
It's been a while, I'm not who I was before
You look surprised, your words don't burn me anymore
Been meaning to tell you, but I guess it's clear to see
Don't be mad, it's just the brand new kind of me
Can't be bad, I found a brand new kind of free

I made one thread about strawberry poptarts, but then I made another one about...
BLUEBERRY poptarts! They're entirely different....
That's the kind of logic I'm seeing here atm, changing the topic minorly while asking a slightly different question isn't new thread worthy.
Besides, you know one of the many uses you can use "post quick reply" for?
Asking more than one question on the same topic!
Okay I’m going to say my piece. Cheer is a sport but if you’re comparing it to gymnastics, get your shit straight, they are NOTHING alike. I was a hard core gymnast for most of my life and cheerleaders pisses us off more than anything else. They like to think they are almost the same if not better (or the girls I’ve had to deal with). We train hours upon hours with broken bones, dislocations and bleeding hands. Our hands are rock hard and we carry so much more muscle then you guys. Yes there are some aspects that are similar, for example tumbling, but the tumbling in cheer is usually more basic. Yes you must have control of your body, but you are about team work. Gymnastics you’re on your own (unless doing doubles). At the age of seven I was training eighteen hours a week and going to school. I lived at the gym and it was my life, when I had to quit because of injuries I was lost without it. My dreams died, my hobby disappear and my passion was stolen from me. People may be as passionate as cheer but there is no way that it compares to gymnastics. My family had to pay 1,000s upon 1,000s of dollars on training, suites, long drives and more to let me get so far as the provincials. I’m going to stop here. I don’t want to insult you or anything. I’m not trying to insult cheer either, but you have to understand. There spots are similar but are in no way the same. They are on whole different levels. Because honestly, a gymnast with the right training could do any routine a cheerleader could, but a cheerleader could never do half the things gymnasts do unless they were in fact a gymnast first.
Blazed
I don't agree at all.
So you say, a gymnast can do what a cheerleader can do? Yeah, don't think so. Cheer is more than just tumbling around on a mat.._.

Ugh. I was hoping to stay out of this, but obviously I can't so let me throw in my two cents.
I disagree. Cheerleaders technically ARE gymnasts. They are just taught to implement it in a different way. And before you say "Shut up, you know nothing.", I know a lot on this subject, having a sister who has done both and is, in fact, currently on a cheerleading team(Or is it squad?).
