(East Gate) Godsend DnD

Toka remained steadfast in his position. Despite his initial rush, the undead had proved to be more resilient and numerous than he had thought. He hacked and chopped the limbs and heads of any undead that strayed close to him, but for each he cut another quickly filled in the spot denying him of any chance of respite and any attempt of pushing the line forward.

"HOLD THE LINE!" He shouted. "THE GODS ARE WITH US!"

The defenders took derection from Carter on the gate, hope from Asha flying and reporting, and courage from Toka's charge into the undead. Renewed vigor washed over them as Malfus sent healing wave after healing wave from his staff. Slowly the wall crawlers and hole were retaken, pushing the undead back. That was a momenttarily pause as the undead began to pull back, gathering toward the hellish knight with a small black cloud begining to form about them.

From the cloud emerged a tenfoot tall creature covered in red robes. It was humaniod in nature with a skeletal face and red eyes that glowered. However the most notable feature were the two foot long claws on its narrow hands. It moved forward at an alarming rate meeting the defenders in a matter of moments. Razor sharp claws were streaked with blood as it cut into defenders two at a time, severign limbs completely. It then spoke out in a haunting tone, hallow almost, "Your time had ended. I am a hand picked servent of Lord Seit, your Gods have forsaken you!"

Carter was blasting undead left and right off of the walls along with the defenders. Once the wall crawlers were cleared then he had the archers work on the horde going for the gate to lessen their numbers for the defenders there. Once those numbers started to thin out Carter started to take shots at the undead milling around at the wall. Blowing holes as big as his fist through the zombies that were attacking. The swing in the battle was effecting the defenders as well. They were moving faster and shaking off their fatigue. Then the moment came. The undead started to back away as if they were retreating from the battle field. Had they just won? Was this going to be one of the turning points in the war?

Then a dark cloud started to form over a group of the undead. The same group that the death knight was in. This was going to end badly. As the cloud form Carter but a hand to his chest and called up so more of his nature magic to protect him. The cloud then took on a shape of a large creature with what looked like swords for fingers. The thing move with amazing speed and started to hack down defenders two at a time. This was their next target and it seemed to be fueled by the evil god Seit.

"Archers fire at will on that thing! Ballistas fire at will! Our Gods obviously have not left us as we are still here. We have killed scores of your undead. We killed your lich necromancer and your assassin Asher the Dark. Even your giant fell at our hands. Our Gods are with us. With every man and women on this bridge as we defend all from your scourge. You shall fall just like the rest of them."

As if to emphasis the point he pulled back and started to blast the creature with his holy long bow.

The presence of the new skeletal creature was bad news to say the least. But after defeating Asher between the three of them and being healed by the cleric, Toka would not allow someone to say that it was their end, especially not when they're not alone.

Hearing Carter's reply, Toka then bellowed his own reply before charging towards the creature.

"Your false God has no influence over us!" Toka yelled. "It doesn't matter if I lose an arm or a leg, NOTHING SHALL PASS THIS GATE!"

He growled at the creature as he cut it with his swords.

Asha remained in midair, only stopping to land near Carter. "By the primal healer, you shall fall!", Asha shouted. Asha then considered something. She couldn't fight without having to wade through zombies, but she could help in other ways. But the winds were too strong to bear Carter aloft, and the lack of a saddle, and Asha's willingness to ever wear a saddle hindered that plan. Asha instead made it up the wall, maybe there was a nice bow up there she could use.

Three arrows sailed and flared ot life as they struck into the bone clawed creature. It hissed out in pain, off balance it then took one of the blades into its chest, dark blood spilling over onto the blade. It screeched once more before launching its claws at Toka, extended ten feet in an atpempt to pin him to the ground.

Asha would find a short bow, bloody from its previous owner.

His arrows struck true as did Toka's blade. Things were looking good until the monster showed that he had extendable claws. Those things were long! The only thing Carter could do was to pour on the hurt as much as he could. Try to kill the creature to help out Toka.

He took aim and started to fire again as fast as he could. If this thing was hand picked by a god it could go south real fast. Carter looked to the other defenders.

"Keep firing at any undead that you can. Keep them away from us and that fighter down there."

Toka attempted to pull his sword back, however it was stuck deeper on the creature chest than he thought it would be. The delay had caused him to react too late when the creature's claw extended. While the impact loosened the sword, the clawed hand took him off his feet and pinned him to the ground.

Two more arrow blasted against the Boneclaw, their holy energy bursting as they struck. It was even enough to break the hold that his claw it had pinned Toka with. It let out a shriek as it began to glow a dark purple, mist forming from its eyes.

"Foolsssss!" it began to back petal now, swinging its claws to cut down soilders that came too close.
