Actually things are likely to get better, with the 3rd quarter economic numbers coming out we are seeing GDP growth and the recovery effort in the northeast is likely to fund an even greater economic growth on a national level. I can only hope that now without having to worry about getting elected Obama can prove a few more times he is willing and able to make serious pushes on issues he favors.

And hopefully Congress will work with him. That was why he wasn't getting anything done in his last term. Because Congress was half Democrat and Half Republican, so therefore couldn't agree on anything. Hopefully Congress has decided to pull their heads out of their bums and stop arguing like little kids.

Well for his first 2 years he had a democratic congress, and while the democrats would work with him many prominent republican congressmen have openly stated that they would do everything they could to make sure nothing got done and given that democrats usually are less politically capable than their republican counterparts were unable to overcome republican filibustering.

You cannot really argue with the fact that they accomplished their objective to an astonishing degree despite being at a disadvantage though.

They are politicians, in politics you have either 2 goals, win or improve your nation, many no doubt believed they were improving the nation by blocking any attempt by democrats to take action and the rest more certainly won in that engagement.
