Kaiju based roleplay interest check

Hey everyone, I just got a somewhat interesting idea and wanted to see if there was any interest. Well I'm sure most people at least somewhat know the Giant Monsters genre or at least know about Godzilla for instance. Anyhow, I just have this idea of a sort of parody based on that kind of series.

Well anyway I'm sure you're wondering about the plot and the kaiju of course. Anyway here's part of the idea that I have up, though is probably bound to change.

First of all the main protagonists would be the Super Kaiju Intercept Defense Squad or SKIDS for short, with their antagonists being the Big Assault Monster Society or BAMS. (Yes I purposefully made the shorten forms to be kind of ridiculous)

STORY

The legendary Kaiju, or gigantic monster, has always been a symbol of awe and terror to the people of the world, especially Japan(Making fun of Japan is a must) which attracts them like an anthill attracts an anteater. Kaiju are big, Kaiju are destructive, Kaiju cause billions of dollars, or whatever currency you can think of, in damage, and Kaiju are not the best of guests to your birthday party. In any event Kaiju are a nuisance and people decided they needed to be stopped, giving birth to SKIDS, also known as the Super Kaiju Intercept Defense Squad!

SKIDS is an organization, jointly made by every major world power, to be the counterbalance against these colossal titans. SKIDS has money, SKIDS has mecha, SKIDS has super powered humans, creatures, and even rumored to have a Kaiju or two on their side; basically SKIDS has full power and authorization to give those Kaiju a fierce uppercut into outer space! Only the best of the best are allowed into SKIDS, the strongest, the brightest, and the people that no one else can stand to be around, one never knows who they will meet in the organization.

While Japan may be the proverbial vacation spot for passing by Kaiju they of course can appear all over the world and in order to travel all over the world SKIDS needed the ultimate in transportation: Say hello to the SKIDS Trident! An all terrain vehicle/headquarters that is equipped with pretty much everything but a drive-in theater. Sporting the best technology the SKIDS Trident can fly, swim, and traverse all known terrain types with only a few limits and can operate in space if necessary. The Trident has the ability to house all its members for extended periods of time and comes with a build in hanger to hold all those other things which may be needed. Well, just know that its big, bad, and packs a huge punch.

Recently it has come to SKIDS attention that a mysterious organization, the Big Assault Monster Society, or BAMS for short, has someone got into their hands a method of controlling Kaiju and perhaps even a method to create their own. BAMS actions are considered to be terrorist and they are high on the wanted list of most intelligence agencies though of course, only SKIDS has the necessary skills to counter them.

Well that's the skinny of the idea anyway. My idea is to make this roleplay, if people are interest, to be quite parody based with plenty of satire; as such I expect plenty of drama, ridiculousness, and intense battles against colossal monsters, mechas, and super powered individuals.

Anyways, just comment if interested, ask questions and whatever. I won't bother going through with this role play unless I see enough of an interest in it. Think about it and say what you think.

Heheh, Giant monsters? =3 You got my interest for sure XD Especially since there's potential to play as one XD Ya know, I don't think I've EVER seen an RP of this brand on the site yet =3 so yeah, you definatelly got 'me' here XD

I never grew up watching Giant Monster movies or anything but for some reason I have a soft spot for their utter ridiculous rubber suit battle goodness. As for people wanting to be giant monsters, I don't think I'd want too many of them, but for story purposes those 'Kaiju' should be able to change into human form so there can be normal interaction. On a side note since I'm aiming for a parody I got to think of a better name for the super special transportation headquarters, Trident sounds too much like a cool military vehicle. XD

Heh, i'm not so good at 'goofy names myself, though now that I think about it, you could call it 'SKID ROW' XD which i sjust funny, but i'm not sure how it firsts XD

heh, but yeah, the 'good kaiju' being able to use a more human sized form sounds quite useful XD I actually remember one little mini movie involving 'kaiju' [not the normal godzilla brand] and the main character was a halfbreed of the current Kaiju king [who was a big dragon guy] and a human woman who used to be part of the military group that was trying to keep them from demolishing everything XD sooooo, There must be 'some' who can use a more human sized form o.o

and if you do intend to allow at least a few players to use a kaiju =3 I'd love to reserve a slot, unless their first come first serve XD but yeah, ya know =3 always gotta have 'some' good giant monsters XD

Conry Mecha is fine and all to be sure, but I don't really want the whole 'same people team' mentality of shows like power rangers and whatnot, if you catch my drift. Still, I have absolutely nothing against giant combination robots and I just know you can use the theme music as a nice joke in the role play. In any case, I'm gonna leave the interest check going a bit more before I decide to make the OOC thread.

Oh, the entire thing will be one giant as hell joke, Xin.

The entire idea is that these people would probably normally be considered completely insane in any other given situation, due to how over the top and "hot blooded" they are. I'm more than willing to have other people play the different components, and as a matter of fact, I think it's almost necessary that I have a "straight" man to counteract the fact that my character is gonna be pretty much insane, reckless, and hewing very very closely to source material.

It's the sheer idea of "hot blooded anime characters being applied to real life situations" that makes it funny.

Now, I have two conflicting ideas.

I can either play it interestingly, and have it be very real robot-esque in design function, but the pilot drives it like it's a Super Robot, OR, I can have it actually be a Super Robot.

The real robot design function would have the combination thing be actually viable and useful if done correctly (which it almost never will), allowing for compact storage and quick assembly on the battlefield (when the main pilot isn't screaming about justice and bravery and soul).

The Super Robot design would probably have so many hidden weapons it's not even funny, and be designed and built by a scientist even more unstable and insane than the pilot himself.

But that's all up to you, Mr. GM, which route I should take.
