    (North Gate) Godsend DnD

    Accepted Characters:
    Trouble, Wizard of Solusek Ro
    Zhali, Monk of Quellious
    Lewis Varcolac, Scout of Tunare
    Cayden Cailean, Incarnate of Quellious

(To Check out the other group)

“It has been ten years now since the Necromancer Seit has unleashed his undead army to ravage the lands of Norrath. For what reason no one truly knows, some speculate he is seeking the Lost Tomes of the world, still others say he has lost his very mind with power seeking to destroy life on the known world. My own opinion you may ask? It doesn’t matter I seek only safety in these trying times, the security of Erudin in their fortress of Magic one of the few place yet to be struck. As for my business in Freeport, left to burn along with the rest of the world, may the gods have mercy on those left behind…”
    -Garus Drimal, Human Master Alchemist

“Damned be the reasons on why the dark mage has attacked! You need now only know the lands of Kaladim are besieged, and we dwarves will not go without one hell of a fight! Be gone now you bard, I have an axe to sink into one of those skellies!”
    -Dunlyn Bruntbuckler, Dwarvern Warrior

“It isn’t possible. How one caster could make such a gathered force? Necromancy is a despicable art, but it requires mana and sacrifice just as any other spell weaving. It would have taken years of nothing but the most extreme effort on a daily basis. I for one won’t let this world fall without a struggle.” *A ball of fire forms in his hand as he gives me a firm glare*
    -Tanias Firebright, Half-Elf Mage

“The lands cry out in pain, one can physically feel and hear it. *She looks out over the forest, a deep sadness in her eyes.* The scourge army burns and pillages the lands. Felling trees here hundreds of years old, spoiling rivers and water holes killing out life. This has to end, the past five years have bared the burden of these desecrations. We gather our forces to march, to counter attack and drive the dark army from our lands if nothing more than to allow it to recover.”-Idia Ashwood, Wood Elf Druid

“What!? There is an army of skeletons and zombies on the loose? Since when?*A long pause *Ten years!! Asler gather your kin we need to talk about hiding!!”
    -Deputy Braster Looh, Rouge Halfling

These are the brief encounters I have taken that have stood out on my trips across the lands, ones I believe hold the true feelings all of us beings have of this world. Fear, a chance to test themselves, anger, revenge against atrocities… we all have responded to this dangerous attack in our own ways. But who is it that will gather to oppose this fearsome force, to rid the lands of this undead scourge? Who will be the champions of this time?
-Writing from the journal of Nikako Jones, Traveling Bard

    ::Status of the War::

The land before the group was covered in frozen snow soild enough that they only sunk perhaps a half foot into it. The air was crisp and made in inside of your nose crystalise. Moutian ranges were in nearly every view, wihte snow and purple of rock. Sparse vegitation grew with thick and tough bark.

This was the Nest, the land of Barbarians.

It took some doing, mostly because of the slim pickings, but Trouble managed to get together some decent enough gear. A heavy overcoat and cloak, a pair of thick gloves (if his own didn't suffice), a scarf, even a pair of boots (which he stored away for use only in deep snow banks, puddles and the like). Thus garbed, he readied himself to conquer the north. He wasn't sure what exactly to expect from the weather, but he had experienced cold element spells. He supposed it would be something like that. Just... extended. After raising an eyebrow as the ranger's battle cry of 'for the races three', considering that there were considerably more races than that around, he stepped through his chosen gate after the monk. And promptly sneezed on arrival on the other side. Lovely. And the ground was cold too. And the air. It was just plain cold. The scents were a bit dampened by the chill as well. All in all, not all that fun.

"All this to talk to a wolf," he muttered to himself as he drew up his scarf to cover his nose and fished his new boots out. No need to pad bare pawed through this mess.

Zhali stepped into the icy environment with all too much ease, feeling only a very slight drop in temperature as the magic of her boots kept her comfortable. She planted her quarterstaff and gave the area a quick survey before looking to their canine companion after his concerns for her well-being were given voice.

"Well as long as my boots hold up I'll probably be as comfortable as you," Zhali said, indicating her boots for a moment before returning her gaze to the surroundings, "We should get our bearings and figure out a plan, we seem to be in the middle of nowhere..."

It was almost a pity her visions couldn't have provided just that little more direction, as it seemed like her first task would be to find her goal before figuring out how achieve it.

"Indeed." Lewis said standing up. "I propose we search for a nearby landmark. I'm sure there has to be something of interest." All he saw was snow, mountains and more snow. He laid down on the ground, feeling the chill of the snow through his fur a little. "I've never been this far north." He mentioned. Looking at where they had come from, he then looked to Zhali. "Do you think we're the only ones here? If so, we should get moving."

As the chosen were getting their bearings a storm began to brew, spitting out sheets of sleet. This did nothing to keep the cold and inhospitable land's attractivness.

Trouble managed to tug his boots one without much effort and climbed back to his feet, brushing the snow from his pants and the edge of his coat. He really didn't like the feel of shoes, much less these heavier boots. Still, until he got used to snow rather stone and packed earth, it would have to do. He adjusted his coat so it hung more comfortably from his shoulders, arranging his scarf over his mouth and nose to shield against the bitter wind. He sneezed again, rubbing at his nose as his tail twitched under the cloak.

"I am beginning to wonder if north really was the wisest direction," he muttered to himself in feline. He blinked up at the monk, sniffing. "There should be a large skull from a mammoth east of here," he said in a slightly bored manner. "North of here should be a large spire of rock. Both within three miles."

Lewis turned and spotted trouble. In more ways then one. That cat was really interested in talking to Lewis he seemed. "That's not far then." As the winds picked up, he grunted, the cold going stright though his fur and chilling him. "Drat!" He said, shivering. "I thought I would have better luck here." Shaking the snow out of his fur, he hoped that they could find some cover soon. "We should get out of this wind in any case."

Zhali took in a slightly quickened breath as she felt the air speed up and grow colder, but was otherwise unaffected beyond the surprise as she merely felt only slightly colder than before -her boots were working quite the charm with this environment. As for what Trouble said, with the onset of this weather they'd probably need shelter sooner than 3 miles later, and the area was probably too unfamiliar to go attempting any distance before the weather could get worse -but Zhali couldn't say for sure.

"I guess we should wait out the storm before trying to make any distance; I think I have a tent in here somewhere," Zhali thought aloud, turning her attention to digging into a particularly bulky belt-like article that looked to be a huge clump of leather and cloth above five inches wide, except her arm disappeared up to the elbow into one of the elusive pockets before extracting a sizeable, heavy bundle. Technically the tent only accommodated two people, but Zhali had a few other curiosities in her arsenal she'd picked up over her travels.
"Let's find a place to set this up before the weather gets any worse."

With any luck she could find something sturdy to partially hide the tent behind to help manage the wind.

Trouble looked back at the point they had emerged from. He had thought they would be getting some more company, but it seemed as if that assumption of his was ill-conceived. He frowned. According to the druid's information, it should not be too great of a complication, since the numbers in this region were less, particularly so since the majority of the locals were supporters of the Necromancer and participation in a press on the other cities. So he turned to the monk, how name escaped him, as she dug into the pouches at her waist. "Outdoor survivalism is not one of me strong points," he admitted over the sound of the wind. "And since I was taken so abruptly from me home, I have little in the way of camping equipment."
