Please give me an example of a "clear indicator"- so I can avoid this happening again. I'm still confused about why it was unclear.
"She'd have to go from there, depending on if she got that far and how things went."
I thought this final statement would have been enough- allowing you to assume she was going to go through with her idea unless something drastic happened which would change the situation. So you could interject at any level of her plan. Having her already in the process of slipping off her pack to pull out the firecrackers and matches, I also would've thought that clearly indicated her plan was already in progress- thus she wasn't waiting for anything.
