Yes, modern. And Nekomancer, accepted.
Gonna send a Dhampir (Vampire-Human Hybrid) into this. I've been waiting for the opportunity to send the one I've got into a roleplay. I'm assuming that this is going to be set in roughly modern day?

Attention Followers of Bunny,
As you can see, I have kidnapped your icon, and am holding him hostage. If you wish for the safety of Bunny, then you will do as instructed, and send a predetermined amount of money to an undisclosed entity in a top secret location.
Sincerely,
Those Guys
Yes, modern. And Nekomancer, accepted.
Cool, looking forward to it.

How are you feeling with siren-like creatures or transfigurations into other animals, people, or shadows, Vong?
I don't care what sort of beastie you play, as long as you do it well and give the rest of us a good description so we know exactly what we're dealing with. Should have made that more clear, I don't want people to feel bound to a certain 'type' of creature, you know what I mean? Stoker-esque vampires are really cool, but so are Priest vampires. In my world, both are options.
In other words, knock yourself out

Name: Jack Slade
Gender: Male
Age: 44
Species: Human
Rank: Team Leader
Primary Role: Tactician/Administrator
Secondary Skills: Lockpicking, alarm disabling, inspiring, interrogating, manipulating, diplomacy, experience.
Field Loadout: Shotgun with various loadouts and attachments, .45 Glock with full metal jacketed loads, silver-edged knife, garrote wire, Kevlar armor, lockpicks.
Personality: Cool and professional to the point of iciness while working. Listens to classical music. Reads German philosophy. Drinks only microbrews served traditionally. Single, no children, with a Maine Coon cat for company at home. Has an especial distaste for pimps. Dresses in an unremarkable suit. Downplays his presence when in the company of people other than his team. Speaks with a Texas accent. Despairs of the Cowboys as long as Jerry Jones holds the reins. Married to his work. Seems to be constantly amused at a joke only he gets. Still wears his dog tags from the Marines. His desk has a US Marine Officer’s sword, electroplated silver, placed where the hilt is always next to his right hand. Never orders an execution when he is capable of doing it himself, not from a love of killing, but from a sense of responsibility.
History: Slade had a fairly unremarkable childhood with surprisingly little trauma. He studied Criminal Justice in college before joining the Marines. Two years into his career, he applied for OCS and became a ‘mustang’, an officer who started off as an enlisted soldier. After eight years in the military, he joined the Texas State Police and steadily worked through the ranks. He distinguished himself, and was accepted into the ranks of the Texas Rangers at the age of 42. Eighteen months later, he led a SWAT team into a raid that turned out to be an ambush. Half of his men died in the first attack, and the rest were wounded. Ignoring three bullets in his stomach, he rallied his men and turned the situation upside-down, shattering the second attack through brilliant tactics and resourcefulness. While in the hospital, he was approached by a representative of the Institution, and accepted the job of leading a crack team into the murky waters between the various nations. While he’s only been in charge of the North Texas department for a few months, his influence is already felt throughout the southern United States.

Name: Samuel Vie aka: Shadow
Gender: Male
Age: 421
Species: Ghoul
Rank: (Leave Blank, this will be assigned by me)
Primary Role: spy, master of stealth, shapeshifter (can shift into any sentient being, but only someone he has seen before. In summary, he can't invent a body, he has to have seen it)
Field Loadout: You mean besides his razor claws and sharp teeth? Two sai's, a handfull of throwing daggers, and most importantly; his guile.
Personality: Sam, or Shadow as he's been known to be called, can be rather boastful of his skill almost to the point of arrogance. Rather sarcastic and snide, he tends to not take anything to seriously. He more or less tries to think that he works for himself and that this team he's a part of is more or less just merc work. But all in all hes not such a bad guy... err ghoul. Always pressing the evelope a little further, a little stronger, a little faster, and much much quieter. A true trickster at heart. Deceit is his ally, guile his tool, and gullible his prey. He finds himself at peace in the dark and tends to get a little unnerved when more than 1 pair of eyes are stairing at him. Not so much that he's shy, it just goes against everything he's built to do. Then again, that's kind of hard to do when you're a 6 foot walking dead, But that's what makes him so good.
History: Sam was in short a rejected spawn from hell. Unacceptable in the eyes of man, insolent in the eyes of demons. He wasted his talents on simple nightmares. Stalking people in the dark, becoming the very fear inside their minds. He lived alone, he worked alone, he was the darkness. He didn't exist except to those who feared him. At least, that was until the war. At that point, people were always afraid. Always wondering when they would be hit next. With the war, Sam would blend in with the shadows in a way he didn't intend. He became a myth, a fairy tale, he was just another fable of the fragile human mind. But Sam wasn't as forgotten as he thought. Little did he know that despite his tendency to stalk others in the night, he was being watched by a recruiting agent of the IHO and was promptly invited to join the team. And the rest is history...
Added shapeshifting after wiki-ing ghouls hope that's alright. Seems to fit his character quite nicely though.

Some people think in pictures, others think in words. I think in pictures with subtitles.
Cool people i've met over the years!
How long does it take for him to shapeshift and how often can he do it a day? For a ghoul, it doesn't sound like an easy process, although that's just an opinion.
Hmm I'd say about a minute to shift but to give him some limitability he can only keep the form for a couple of minutes, 10 max. Or I could just scrap it. LIke I said, only found it interesting in my research XD
