[Continuum] Odd discovery (Forest around the Ground Temple)

    • ''Master Odus, why are you talking us within the forest and not on the temple training grounds? I thought you said we would be doing physical training?''

The young boy had eventually stopped in the middle of the woods with the other students, getting the curious glares of the other children. It was one of those sunny days, those who energize and inspire those nature lovers to do something of their day. Little did they know, Modakra had reserved a special something for the students, but he had just told them this would be a stroll in the forest. None had questioned the change in the schedule, as Master Odus was known within the temple grounds for his remarkable lessons in martial arts and in the philosophy of a serene life. Many before him had succeeded in teaching such lessons, but none better than the one known as the Wind of the Mountains. And so the day had simply started a little differently.

The group had stopped to glare at the young boy who questioned the walk and then had turned to the leader of the expedition. The tall man turned to them with a light and kind smile, resting a hand on his hip. Modakra always stood up straight, showing no sign of weakness of fatigue and that day, there came no exception. He looked up into the leaves of the trees, lush and lively, and breathed in slowly. He seemed so relax and serene, slightly impressing the children. He then dropped the hand and started stretching his arms out, the cracking of bones audible to the young.

‘’Well students, I’ve decided to have an endurance training for this beautiful day. Not a cloud in the sky, no hindrance for the sun to illuminate the sky. It gave me an idea… But we must keep moving on. We’re no at my destination yet.’’

The Master spoke with a light and soothing voice, no presence of hesitance or secrecy. The young students who had joined him simply looked at each other, both excited and slightly curious onto what they would be doing for a training of constitution. These types of lessons had only recently been starting to appear within the schedule, as they were starting to hit an age where he could develop it properly. Students ranging from 10 to 16, still not considered adults in the society of the mountains, but still with a mature heart.

And so the group moved along through the woods, a simple strode for most. Modakra showed no sign of giving them the answer until they would reach their destination. The march lasted maybe three hours, some getting bored, others just loving the beautiful scenery around them… and then Modakra ceased walking to turn around to the children once more. He immediately caught their attention and saw them paying careful attention.

‘‘In just a few hundred meters, we will be entering a training ground used years ago by my family. It was tradition to bring the children of my family here for occasional training… I’ve decided, with permission of my elders, to bring you there.’’

The children were awed by what he had spoken about. The Odus family have been known to be the best martial artist of the Mao Temple that was situated at the base of the mountain. The Mao temple on top of the mountain was one which only a few chosen could go. Master Odus had gone for two years before returning, completely changed, a new man. His attitude hadn’t changed much, but his body had become a temple, life burning within his eyes. Excited, the children actually accelerated the pace, hoping to be able to start the lesson as soon as possible. Master Odus followed the motion and jogged with them to the ground.

Upon arrival, the kids were guided upon a simple stone floor in the middle of nowhere, about one hundred feet by one hundred feet. Trees surrounded the outside, but there seemed to be nothing special. The children were slightly confused, as they thought there would be something special. They turned to their teacher for guidance in this odd situation, in which he simply smiled and moved upon the stone floor, breathing in deeply. He simply lifted his eyes to the skies once more and laughed lightly.

''Start you usual warm-ups; I will be back within the hour. I have to do something before we start the endurance training.''

And Modakra moved across the stone ground to enter the forest once more, knowing the children would do as he said with arguing. He had arranged another special surprise, and his family was a little further, waiting for him. It was the first day he would start teaching them how to utilize the spiritual energy within them, but kept it a secret. And so he started a smooth run across the forest ground, as light as a feather. He seemed to avoid any obstacles without effort and simply going along, but during that run, he noticed something out of place. Colors flashed to him that was out of décor…

Coming to a slow halt within his run, he spotted the anomaly a few feet away. Instantly shocked by the few, he approached what seemed to be an unconscious body. He could already tell she wasn’t breathing; the wind couldn’t pick up any. Worried, he quickly came to the body of the young lady and knelt beside her, putting a finger to her neck… And it felt out of place. The lady’s skin felt quite hard, almost like steel… and he also took notice of what seemed like wings. It didn’t make sense… She also had a shield and a weapon and weren’t marked by any blood, nor did she seem to have any wounds. Slightly disturbed by this discovery, he put his right thumb right under the jaw bone, near his neck and pressed hard on it. If she would be alive, she would have an automatic feeling of discomfort and pain… enough to stimulate the unconscious mind.

Her hull automatically responded with danger to the pinch sending a signal. After a short delay a small hissing noise would come from the girl as if something was moving. Soon followed by a sound similar to jet engine in the distance. Then a small tick tick tick as the gems on the girl would begin to glow intensely. There would be a slight increase in the warmth from the sun as they glowed. Meanwhile she(the crystals as independents) felt the back up energy from her core sending a request for energy and gladly sent it. As the hull began to breath with energy it ran threw a cleaning phase, although she had never understood why this was necessary to be done at every initiation she didn't question, but always felt like removing that function from her next body to save space. The brushes and air were annoying especially when you were just waking up. Her processes began to come into her action as she awoke. Her energy was surprisingly at full after such a heavy crash. Her back had taken minimal damage for some reason even though her shields were obviously depleted in the crash or she would not be waking up. Then she had noticed the estimated time on her sleep mode had shot up another 233,648,324 units of time. As the goblins would call it two years. Although confused she soon found that this malfunction was caused in a break in her energy response start up system. "Fix the" She had told her body as she began to draw in extra rays of light. This was soon followed by success as the crystals stopped glowing.

She now began to tempt to test her movement functions to attempt to see if they were broken. A twitch was given from the girl as she tested to see if the motor controls were working. At first she was compelled by the idea of testing every function one at a time, but soon came to the consensus that perhaps she should analyze her surroundings to see if it was safe. Her optical sensors in the goggles started working she was glad to see the trees that the goblins praised so highly, maybe they had taken her to security. She soon twisted the joints in her legs and arms to a proper position were she could see her friends her more human looking eyes still closed. She was greeted by strange trees and another model she had looked for it's crystals but could not find any moving her motors to get different angles. There appeared to be nothing other then this odd probably failed experiment or perhaps a new model. She reached arm out attempting to read the other models data but was greeted by a strong shock. Why didn't this model react properly perhaps it was broken. She accidentally let out the command for her hull to say "What are you?", and instantly regretted this decision as she may of offended a obtuse model or even a superior model.

    • With a lack of reaction coming from the young woman, Modakra had started to fear the worst for her. Any living would have immediately reacted to such a pressure to the nerve. Since there failed to be any movement of movement in the area of her eyes, it meant probably that she was dead or her vital organs had shut down. He lifted his fingers off of her neck, a slightly depressed look on his face. He didn’t know how she had met her fate, but he couldn’t let her in this environment. Like all that come within these regions, rather it be friends, family or even enemies, all deserved a proper burial.

Before he would try to pick up the lady and bring them to his parents, he inspected his surroundings, noticing broken branches around the body. He lifted his eyes to the sky and noticed where exactly the branches broke off of. Oddly, it meant that she fell from the sky. Modakra starting questioning himself for a moment, wondering if this lady was what some would call an angel, known more in the eastern regions. But the wings weren’t feather like… In so he kept questioning himself about where she might have come from.

His thinking had been disrupted by the sound of a hissing. But it wasn’t anywhere near a hiss from any living creature. He set himself into a battle pose; spreading his legs a little more than shoulder space apart with hands forward and hands open to grasp the first thing that would jump at him. The wind carried no sign of particular danger, as nothing but they were around. And then that sound… One he didn’t really recognize. It was getting quite odd at that moment and he looked back down at the lady, just noticing the intense glow of on her back. He hadn’t really checked out anything but the front of her body… He shielded his eyes for a moment, the time those glowing crystals would eventually dim down a little.

When those gems started to have a lesser glow, he looked down towards the lady, quite intrigued. The Master wondered if this was a sort of magical emergency life support system… and then followed a twitch, a nervous react that meant there was still some life within her. He would have come back down to aid her, but he wasn’t sure what would happen if he did. And so he actually took a step back and tried to make sense of the whole scene.

The situation followed with one of the strangest thing happening. The woman’s joints were twisting and seemingly placing themselves in a correct matter which Modakra realize she probably wasn’t a living creature… But again, she looked like a humanoid being. He was quite confused at this point, but he wouldn’t leave the place. Rather it be living or not, she was in the woods and he couldn’t leave anyone or anything behind. And so he simply watched for a moment… Not sure what to do.

It was only then Modakra realized he could probably try to help her now, there might have been a chance she was alive… Whatever she was. He approached her and knelt down, going to try to open her eyelids. Before he could even touch her, he felt a hand on his arm, looked down to see she had moved. It was quite odd, since a normal living being wouldn’t have gone to moving so easily from whatever she had occasioned from. It further confused him, but he wasn't as worried for her safety as much. She even spoke clearly too, but the question was an odd one.
    • ''What are you?''

Never, in his entire existence, was he asked such a question. It was quite obvious she wasn't from this world, as there were a lot of human beings. It brought Master Odus to ask himself if the rumours about the Temporal Rifts were true… He had never believed it since, where he was, nothing had really changed. Yet, Modakra presented a gentle smile before speaking smoothly.

''I’m a human being my dear. You’re the first being that has ever asked this kind of question you know.''

He stood up as he spoke, and let his hand out if she wanted help to get up. Another quite odd thing was the fact she asked what he was without having set her eyes on him. She was more intriguing every second more he spent around her, and had to ask her something.

''What is your name my dear Lady?''

She processed what had just happened for a second thinking in silence as Jade nodded her head pretending to understand. She had somehow lost track of what a human was but she had confirmed it wasn't the first time she had heard that word. The only thing she could think of was the goblins talking to her about them. It wasn't bad, but everything they said made it sound like the humans hated her species she had no idea what to make of it. It was strange she could not make a decision whether this creature was a threat to him. She made the logical decision in her mind and tested him to see if he would attack "I am the first jade model given a secondary name of Valkyrie. I have heard of humans, and that there violent are these rumors true." She said trying to give off a weak and easily assaulted appearance. The question was intended to agitate him, and the pose make him feel like he could strike her, but at this range she could easily grapple him with a reversal and tear out whatever made him work.

    • There was an odd moment of silence in which Modakra also stood in silence, or the respect or whatever was in front of him. It was odd to find a humanoid like her, with rock hard skin and seemingly no need for eye sight to see people. It was almost if she was an adept of the martial arts he followed. It was quite interesting for him to meet a being like her. He even got a simple nod in response, knowing she heard the word he said. Go, a natural reaction he could actually associate to. And so, he let her do what she needed to do, stood back a little. She didn’t seem to need any help, as there were seemingly no injuries.

She answered with words this time, naming herself a model with a name… He didn’t understand what it meant. A model like things they made in the east? Like robots and their rolling machines? So her name is basically Valkyrie, he could work with that. But then she followed with something that actually had him questioning the actual question. She seriously didn’t know what a human was and wondered if it was a good idea to tell her that humanity is the greatest thing in this world. It was maybe better if she knew right know that humans were pretty diverse. And so, with a smile, he looked up to the skies.

‘Humans are as harmful as they are helpful. If there’s one thing humans excel at is being diverse. You might get some violent ones; you might get some peaceful ones. It all depends where you go and what their pass is. For my part, I am quite peaceful…’

He looked back down towards his path knew he needed to move if he wanted to reach the students in time for the training. Yet again, he still needed to make sure this lady was able to go around without being oblivious to everything. And so, he smiled and came forth and put his arm in front of him.

‘Here, let me help you up.’

Jade gave a smile after he said he was peaceful. Although it was odd a creature being able to be aggressive or calm it was rare to see such a thing in her world. Even the goblins were rare to change from one another being the most chaotic race were she came from. There was always a few malfunctions in society but nothing like what he was describing,"I'm not sure what you mean by this are there two different species of humans." Jade asked hoping to find out more about humans. The hand had confused her normally when someone stuck there hand out it meant some kind of interaction process so she grabbed it. Unknowingly she stood up on her own putting very little of her weight on his arm so it would seem normal. "Thank you" She said thinking it was polite to grab someones hand to humans if they extend it.

    • The simple smile she had given him was enough to lessen the stress he had. He didn’t know if it was a genuine smile or not, but he couldn’t care less at that moment. For that moment, he could be at ease with this odd being. And so she came and asked forth another question that seemed completely mindless in his world, but he wasn’t going to be impolite and tell her she was stupid. Everyone lacked some kind of knowledge, and this seemed to be quite new in terms of gathering info or even living within a world. Still with a little smile on his lips, he pulled right up to her feet, noticing something quite particular. She had a lot of weight for a woman of her size… He was beginning to believe she was maybe made of steel… It seemed so ridiculous to him, but the only possible answer. Modakra spoke calmly and gently.

‘No problem my dear Lady. And to answer your question, there is only one race of humans, but that specific race has a free will, meaning they can be just about anything in nature. I’ve decided for a peaceful root, one in which I’m comfortable. Others are able to be aggressive and violent because the way they think.’

And so, he turned to the path again, knowing he should get a move on right now. And so, he had decided for the best of things, he would have to slightly delay the training for this special situation. Taking a few steps towards the path, he turned around towards the woman and waved her to come over.

‘I had something quite important to do, but I can’t leave you wondering around the forest. Would you mind joining me for the day to try and figure out what happened to you?’

She was slightly confused by his words maybe they were the same race but different models. Like a warrior model like her and a mechanic model, but this was different they must be some kind of need for fighting in this society because this man was clearly able to fight. Perhaps he was lying, but if he was he would of attacked her when she seemed vulnerable. She decided it was safe as she spoke "O.k., but what is the path were going along like. I need to know these things" She said as she tried to find out if he was trying to ambush her,

    • The question that she asked had inquired that she was fearful of something. It seems like she was a very cautious and stressed out being, something he hadn’t seen in a long time. She also seemed pretty young, which was quite odd… He still thought that she was a machine fabricated from the easy, although the machines of the East were a lot more primitive and simple than this one. She looked exactly like a human being, except for a few features like he wings, which meant either they discovered a new technology or this person was maybe another Rift jumper… Which he would be quite surprised of if the rumours were true. He would have to wait and see. And for her question, he simply kept smiling as he started for the pathway.

''Don’t worry Lady Valkyrie, the path doesn’t have any dangers. I have used it many times before. The only problems we might encounter are wild animals, but they are easily avoidable.

It was known that this area was filled with a diverse wilderness, but most of the animals won’t attack humanoid beings. Modakra knew quite well that the wild life in these regions usually didn’t interfere with humans unless the being was foolish enough to provoke them in some way. The students of the ground temple were taught how to deal with them without the use of force, since death is the last thing they wanted. Life was the most important thing that was taught to the young ones is Modakra’s class; it must be preserved, not destroyed. And hopefully, he would have them understand that the martial art he’s teaching them isn’t a weapon, but a shield. And with that, Modakra knew he had to hurry along, so he spoke again to the young lady, always with a smile.

''I do not want to hurry you Lady Valkyrie, but I have students and my family waiting for me and my teachings. I wouldn’t want to be late.''

Jade yet again found herself confused "Why do we need to be afraid of animals there easy to deceive and run right past. Don't even need to incapacitate them." She said in such a direct way it actually seemed cruel to the animals. She was about to start running off in the direction he was facing to get there but then realized he wasn't moving and stopped herself. His next statement threw her threw a loop she wasn't sure whether to be interested in what a student was , or the fact that he said her name wrong. She proceeded to correct him in a stern and annoyed voice so he would get the point "I am not a lady I am a jade! Do all humans have a problem with forgetfulness?".
