    Dresden Files Roleplay for guardj

I don't know if you normally use Character Sheets, but I do. It just works easier for me in sorting information for a character.

Hey. Sorry thats been like a few days. My computer decided it'd look waaaay cooler with smoke coming out the back of itself (and, all the problems it caused me aside, it kind of did for a second)... I think my temp fix will work until the parts can get in. I'll try to set up a char sheet for you. PS, what do you mean by "pairing"? Like being in a couple? or like a familiar?

    Name: Alan Randall
    Age: 28
    Race: Human
Appearance: So, it turns out getting pictures worth using of real people, or art of realistic people is a bitch. I'll keep looking, but for the sake of moving the RP forward, we'll go with the basics. 6'1". brown eyes, brown hair, long, like to the shoulders. Fair skin, but not pale. Fit, athletic, but not overly muscled. (If you know a place with pics i'll look there for something. thats just a quick thing to move this on, because I'm having all kind of issues at present.
    Alternate: *not applicable*
Abilities: He's got a little skill with magic. Not the strongest gift, and he's better with subtle spells. Combat magic isn't nessecarily his thing, but given the time to prepare a spell properly, he can work some pretty high end stuff, as long as the rituals and materials are the focal point, and not his own force of will.
Favored Weapon: .357 magnum Handgun. Specifically a Smith and Wesson model 686, 3.25 inch barrel. Yeah, he's got a wizard's staff as well, but really, how conspicuous is that to carry around a big stick in broad daylight. He usually keeps it in the trunk of his car, in case he needs it, but doesn't just keep it with him. The gun hides easy in a jacket.
Other: Pretty nice outgoing guy. He doesn't really act like part of the "magic" circle. And in fact doesn't have much use for it. He keeps his practice to himself, only using magic in the comfort of his own home, or occasionally, when among his closest and most trustworthy friends. Or, as a secret confession, sometimes on his jobsite, where his experience with rituals and recipes really comes in handy as a beer brewer (but sometimes a little touch of magic helps the process along as well). He's pretty laid back, and manages to keep an "it'll all work out" attitude, even in the face of all the wierdness he's seen as a magic user in the big city.
Pairing: *I'm not sure what to do with this one*

Pairing is just something I got used to throwing in over the years, usually it just states a love interest, why I can't just put that I don't know.

Well, since you seem to be the one who has more experience wit the Dresden Universe do you have any thoughts or suggestions for a 'seed event' since I am not one for writing a scripted plot and trying to make people stick to it. This being because I am usually the first to stray away.

I don't remember where in the series "Grave Peril" lies. I think it's the one with the T-Rex necromancy? Either way, I was thinking the story could take place at some point when the white council/red court war is going on? That wouldn't nessecarily be the focus of the story, just a timeframe for when we'd be. Though that's not nessecarily what is has to be either. I was thinking maybe some sort of mutual aquaintance of ours would go missing, and we'd end up running into each other in the process of figuring out what happened to them. Maybe at some point we could have some cameos by a few of the canon characters. Throw in Karin on the legal side, or have Harry show up when the business really hits the fan, but otherwise, keep the canon characters a little sidelined.

I suppose I should tell you as well, I'm sorry for being inactive for the last couple days. My homework load for this week is heavier because of an exam this week.

" Grave Peril" Is only a the 3rd book, and Sue didn't come in until " Dead Beat " which is I believe the 7th. The White Council/Red Court war would be just fine. If you want we could even make our characters Wardens, though I suppose Jennifer would be extremely limited in what she could do seeing as her only magical power is turning into a collie.

I'd have to modify my character to be better with combat magic. We can do Wardens, though I just intended to suggest that as a setting. As for the actual plotline, like I said I wouldn't mind doing something that kept the canon characters sidelined for the majority of the story.
