More rounds buzzed around the the Necroloth as it marched toward the half Dragon who had already recovered from earlier had managed to drag a surviving Skorn to safety of another section of the towers main floor. The Necroloth assessed the situation quickly, even as a stray round ricocheted off his right shoulder. Suddenly activating it's hover lifts the Destroyer lifted into the air and buzzed to the left sharply. But not in the direction of the Dragon and Skorn, but instead it sped to the far rooms wall and turned. Angling the staves bladed head, the Necroloth targeted the pillars of the towers base floor each after the next as the Destroyer tore through each one after the next. As the last pillar was run through the energy dancing across the stave ceased and the Necroloth sped toward another wall segment it had broken through earlier.

With the building supports gone the tower had become destabilized as now only the walls were left to keep the building up. Cracks had already begone form as the buildings weight forced further pressure on them. Skimming to a stop at the end of the long road to the tower communications hub, the Necroloth deactivated the hover lifts. Offering only a single glance back at the crumbling building. A part of it would have liked to finish what it had started, but time would simply not allow such a thing, Perhaps if the creature survived. Duty demanded a swift completion of it's given task and within moments the last phase of the invasion would unfold once the last of the legion had departed from the citadel.

"Thank you," Tomkia muttered when the dragon kin helped him. The Skorn then weakly pointed to the stairs, "Go up, to the third floor.."

He soon felt that the tower started to shake and crumble. It seems that the Undead had done something to the tower below. Whatever it had done, it meant he only had a short time. No, even if the tower's crumbling before him, he had to made that broadcast, otherwise everything would be lost. As soon as they got to the third floor, Tomkia led the dragonkin to bring him over a series of consoles and he started working with it.

"Go, help the human," he said to the girl without glancing at her. "The tower's crumbling and it's better for you to be outside!"

Outside, Recette watched helplessly as the automaton sped away from her and towards the communication hub. She can start to feel her legs again and struggled to stand up. It was still too stiff for her to run however and she started to limp towards one of the ruined temples and hid herself near a rubble. She didn't think it would matter what she did for now.

Evvie was conflicted about what she should do in the current situation. On one hand the man had told her to go and help the woman, but on the other hand she had wanted to stay for the completion of this important mission. However, just standing here didn't appear to be helping the cause in the slightest, now that she had "safely" led him to his destination and the big baddy apparently wasn't following them inside. Without knowledge of the building he probably wouldn't be able to find this place in time, even if he did have an evil chance of heart and rush in searching for them. That being said, she realized that her usefulness here was officially at on end. She had absolutely no clue what the blinking and buzzing machines in the room were, so any effort of help could just as easily cause a self destruct sequence or something on that order. She had once used one of those glowing box objects with the buttons out of curiosity, but not only could she not read the letters, the entire thing was far too confusing for her even if she had. Some meanie ended up kicking her off before she could do too much. To be fair, she was about to try kicking it, so perhaps it was for the best that she didn't get another crack at figuring it out.
    .
She gave a brisk nod and headed out of the room, closing the heavy door behind her. After making it to a window she scanned the area for her opponent, and luckily for her he was nowhere in range, or at least out of sight for the time being. She leapt down without any show of fear, having enjoyed heights so had no problem leaping off even the tallest of buildings. She opened up her wings to slow her descent, and with a soft thud she landed into a snow bank. Before she had made it too far away she heard the rumbling from the building getting louder as cracks were beginning to form on the walls. She searched the area for survivors, but it appeared like all of the ones from the previous confrontation were now dead. She then caught sight of the woman from before, limping into the ruins. It was good that she was still alive, but appeared to be hurt. Wanting to make sure that she was okay, she maneuvered through the ruins in a manner as stealthily as she could so that she wouldn't draw attention toward her and the wounded women. Evvie was also wounded, so she didn't want to risk fighting another battle with such a tough opponent while keeping the woman safe at the same time. Luckily she didn't appear to experience any problems in this endeavor. Oddly enough, a lot of the lesser enemies appeared to have retreated for some reason.
    .
"I get you in safety...yeah?" Evvie whispered, eyeing her for any serious injuries. Not that she knew anything about healing, so would be unlikely to help her much besides carrying her to somewhere that could provide such assistance. "Other guy inside, but..." She was interrupted by a loud sound as the building that she had left began to fall, throwing up snow and dust high into the air. She stared at the scene in shock, understanding what the man had told her now. The building must have been in really bad shape, probably caused by that horrible big baddie guy. She was wondering if he had survived or done whatever he had come to do with the time that he had. Her body became tense as she stood there, watching as the dust began to settle. Had she just abandoned him to die?

The drums of war had slowly subsided over the Citadel as the Undead legions had begun to withdrew seemingly for no reason. The unliving forces had withdrawn beyond the fortress walls reforming around the siege machines as activity around them increased. In the midst of the main center company stood the Destroyer, cold wind whipping at it's cloak as it stood motionless. Suddenly a horn blow from further behind the legion and as the sound died down the final strike was given.

Almost simultaneously every the siege engine fired toward the Citadel, the long arches flying over the walls toward the city itself. Those Skorn alive looked up in horror as eerie green balls of fiery fell earthward, and many scrambled for cover. The remaining Battery towers attempted to shoot as many as possible before they made contact. However the shear number of them assure many still hit their marks, landing in an explosion of thick green smog that blanketed entire blocks. The choking nauseating clouds caused countless run blind in panic. However the true terror of the nauseous fumes were only realized after the effect had already taken hold on many of the dead. The necrotic magic infected the many corpses as they quickly became zombies and ghouls.

Soon the Citadel would slowly be over run as the dead rose once more, attacking the living on sight. While the Undead Legion had begun to withdrew allowing their enemies own dead to soften their defenses further.

It wasn't long until Tomkia managed to broadcast a distress signal telling that the Adamant Citadel and its City was under attack by the undead and require a reinforcement from anyone that could hear. It was right on time as the tower begun to crumble onto him and his surrounding. Large chunks from the ceiling fell onto the machines and the Skorn closed his eye as the tower fell down into the ground. He had made the call, the die has been cast, there was nothing more he could do other than praying that Fate would be kind to the living.

Recette looked at the dragon-kin as the girl approached the redhead and whispered to her. She shook her head to the younger female before replying herself, "It's fine, I'm alright."

She looked quietly as she heard the tower crumbled to the ground, along with the Skorn inside. She then glanced at the dragon girl before looking around. The automatons had retreated as fast as they came, which was strange. She started to question it when she saw a movement and lifted her gun.

"Who's there? Show yourself!" she shouted. To her relief, the source of movement was a hooded man, wearing some sort of a symbol. She kept pointing her rifle at the man while he was looking at her and the communication hub's rubble in a shock. Before any of them could explain the situation or ask the other, the area around them were started to be covered by an incredibly stinking smog. Recette started to cough from the smell and tried to cover her mouth and nose with an arm.

The human woman questioned a man coming out into the open, and that was the same question on Evvie's mind as well. She had not noticed him before, and although she does get single minded during fights or tense situations on occassion, she didn't think that she'd let herself slip so badly by not noticing when people are coming so close to her. She had good senses, so she'd just have to remember to use them better in the future. She wanted to instantly rush off to the rubble and start excavating for any survivors, but she also didn't want to leave this man unintended with the wounded woman in case he tried to kill her. She'd have to deal with him first, but he wasn't answering the question. Perhaps Evvie could scare him into answering what they wanted to know? She didn't want to just rush up and punch him if he was just a frightened civilian who had ran into the area. Not that she wouldn't punch him if necessary, but she was willing to hold herself back in this case, at least for now.
    .
She hunched forward, raised her wounded tail upwards, and let out a "fierce" roar at him before shouting "What's doing here, you?! Danger here!" Before anything else could happen, the area exploded into a green fog that caused her to instantly stumble backwards and begin a coughing fit. There was no way that she'd be able to use her fire with her lungs in their current shape and she was also slightly disoriented by this sudden, treacherous attack. Her body was much like a normal human in it's weakness to these types of things, so she could be in trouble if she stayed in it for too long. Stumbling blindly for a couple of steps, she used her hearing to located the woman's movements and grasped her by the arm, trying to pull her to an area with fresh air.

    • The robed man froze instantly at the sight of the firearm pointed towards him. Slightly panicked by the sudden hostility, the man didn’t want to move at all, not even his lips. It seemed the situation had caught the robed man by surprise and he had no way of reacting to it but standing there for a short moment. But it changed quickly as the dragon roared, taking a few steps back in fear… And then she spoke, which seemed to have brought the man back to his senses, or whatever was left of his broken mind. But even before he could say a word, the smog from the projectiles thrown towards the city engulfed the air with its disgusting odor. Coughing slightly and noticing the people in front of him were also suffering from it, the robed man raised his arms into the air and screamed something at the top of his lungs.

‘Lord from Above, spare thy people from this wretched poison and purify thy air for they shall walk their path, continue their destiny! Help me seek those who I need in this dire moment of pain and suffering! Bless me with you protection!’

The ring on the man’s finger started to glow a vivid red, the air suddenly coming to a change. Slowly, the smog dispersed around them, creating a dome about sixty feet in diameter and 20 feet high of clean air. At the same time, a small orb formed and went flying through the air, towards the south west… And with so done, the cleric took his hood down, revealing a man in his mid-thirty with long blonde hair and blue eyes. The man seemed healthy for the most part, although his eyes stung from exhaustion… He walked slowly towards the two, speaking weakly now.

      ''I needed… to communicate with… The Crusaders of Saint-Cuthbert… but can’t anymore… So I…''

Before he could speak another word, the man crumbled to his knees and hands, breathing heavily. He seemed extremely weak now and simply lay on the floor… Resting…

A convoy of military trucks were on its way back to the Adamant City, Trucks loading a total of 150 Crusaders, including war priests, clerics and holy warriors. They had just come back from an expedition to the west, seeking the Mao Temple but failed to pass the harsh volcanic lands. Even with the technology they had, they couldn’t pass the lava fields and decided on coming back. Out of the 6 warpriests, only two believed that this should have been calculated in the trio, although some seemed to just think it was bad luck. In any case, Brother Rilvaugh had a bad feeling while driving the armored vehicle back towards his home city. Something was wrong somewhere, but he couldn’t really think of what could be bad for them ever since their arrival from the Rift a few years ago… And so, as he looked to his left side window, seeing the transport trucks carrying the troops and supplies, he was deeply saddened with the losses. Sixty men had fallen in the depths of the lava pits…. They were merely 130 left.

Rilvaugh was riding with fellow Warpriestess Lillith and two high Healers, one being Brother Johan and the other Sister Laurana. It had been quiet for a while, The War Priets having a different view on what had happened and the healers didn’t want to disturb them. There was a known feud within the ranks of the Warpriests, although it was nothing violent. There was constant debate about this Rift… Most thought it was an act of the gods to punish them for their acts, although Rilvaugh and War Priestess Irianna didn’t think so. The two thought it was of arcane nature, not a divine act. Very few of the followers of the holy on didn’t believe it was an act of the gods, and so they were being reprimanded for it. Rilvaugh was fortunate enough to be in the higher ranks of the church to have an important say on it.

Rilvaugh was just paying attention to the road, thinking they were moving mighty slow in the icy plains… The Vehicles in front didn’t seem to be in a hurry. And the bad feeling kept getting worst and so Rilvaugh looked up to the sky, noticing and odd object going towards them. The others in front seemed to have either missed it or ignored it. The Warpriest slammed on the breaks, making the others behind him come to a sudden stop, the ones in front breaking only when they noticed Rilvaugh’s vehicle was not moving. The flying object slowed down drastically and came to fall in a snow bank right beside his vehicle. Rilvaugh rushed out of the vehicle and dug into the banks, seeking the small object… and when his hand came in contact with it, he saw it… He saw through someone’s eyes. The destruction… The Smog, the People… And then the ground and nothing… Realizing this might be what was to come or had just happened…

''We have to move faster! The city is in danger!''

People were confused, but Rilvaugh didn't say a word more, got back into the vehicle and slammed on the gas, going off the road. He tossed the small orb to the warpriestess so she could understand his sudden rush. Rilvaugh looked at the healers behind him and spoke seriously and sternly.

''Better be ready… This is going to be much worse than this expedition.''

Evvie luckily found a path free of the filthy smog of doom, but little did she know that the man had somehow helped her out in that regard. Her lungs filled with fresh oxygen once more, but she didn't have much time to breath easy. The man had managed to catch up to her now that she had paused in her mad dash to look around and better evaluate the current situation. Once in the clear she felt like she could take him out easily should he be on the offensive, but just one look at him instantly told her otherwise. The man was blabbering on about something important sounding before collapsing on the verge of consciousness.
    .
"Erg...weak humans," Evvie thought to herself due to her frustration of the situation, glancing between the girl, this newcomer, and the rubble that was trapping the man inside who could still be alive. Unfortunately she wasn't a quick thinker when it came to decision making of this nature. Sure, it's easy to come up with a decision to rush in and attack the bad guy, but there was no clear enemy at this current moment in which to vent her aggression on and save the day. In the heat of battle she was mainly reacting, but this...this...think Evvie! Well, the woman said that she was okay, so perhaps she could be the one to help the man get to safety. In that case, Evvie was free to try and break the man from that rocky prison...or would it be a graveyard? She wanted to find out for sure and help if at all possible, so she rushed over to the ruins and began tossing debris out of her way as she was closing in on the general area where that room had been, to the best of her knowledge. It was hard to figure out now that everything was a big pile of junk. Luckily she knew that the room was somewhere near the middle and the top, so if she was lucky it wouldn't take much digging around. She both climbed and leapt her way to a better position.
    .
"Anyone home?!" She shouted, cupping her hands on the sides of her mouth to try and...actually, she didn't know the specifics, but it made her voice go more into the area that she wanted and make it louder or something...at least that's what it might do. It sounds right at least. Whatever the case may be, hopefully someone other then the big meanie would hear her and respond so that she could have an easier time locating him. Luckily the enemies had appeared to have all left well out of hearing range, especially now that she couldn't even see them from her elevated position. They almost all had to have escaped beyond the wall or were hiding within the buildings. Focusing her attention back on the situation at hand, she began to once again get to work. Some of the larger pieces off rubble caused some strain on her muscles, and she was even beginning to sweat after removing a particularly large chunk of stone, which was odd considering how cold it was before all this exercise. She wiped the beads of water from her forehead and then paused in her work every so often to listen for a reply from within the rubble. Hopefully she would find him soon because moving an entire building off of someone would be a whole lot of work, even if it was done one chunk at a time.

All of sudden she can breathe easier. Recette looked at the robed man warily as he muttered about communicating a bunch of Crusaders before crumbling to the ground. She huffed as she stopped pointing her rifle at the man. As the man breathed heavily on the ground, Recette noticed that the lizard-girl had rushed back to the tower. What she intent to do was quite apparent as she started to move the rubble. Recette can only shook her head over what she consider childish sympathy, the chance that the Skorn survived was incredibly small. She then looked back at the man crawling at the ground, he didn't look like he's with the undead and what he said could mean he has a way to at least get some people with combat experience to where they were. Which would mean a way out.

She went over to the man and knelt besides him, "Hey, can you stand? It's not safe to rest in the middle of the road, you know. I'll lend you my shoulder so I can carry you to the side."
