    Wheel of Time Roleplay

I tried a while ago to start a Wheel of Time roleplay but I did not get many interested and those I got fell away from the game rather quickly, so basically I am wondering if there is any interest in a RPG set in this setting? Now what I would like to do is to play a game set 200 years before the start of the books, the reason why I want to set the game then and not in the middle of the action so to speak is to have room to make a story in the RPG and not constantly bump into the plot of the books. 200 years before the start of the books the world of Wheel of Time is reasonably the same as it is at the start of the books, but it give some wriggling room.

I would be interested in starting a RPG that is very true to setting that means that the players would have to at least have some grasp of the Wheel of Time, preferably players should have read at least some of the books but if you have played the D20 RPG game or the video game you should have enough information. I would want characters which would be possible within the setting, extraordinary characters are fine, but they have to be plausible.

I love the Wheel of Time setting and I know the books are popular, so I guess since my last game failed before it really started that I am just testing the waters to see if I can find someone else who is interested in playing in this setting before I start up another interest check. I also am not sure if I want the game to be set in casual or advanced. I definitely want advanced content with well developed characters and eventually deep plots, but as you can see my spelling and grammar is not perfect and I do not want to scare away anyone who want to play but who feel that the technicalities of their writing skills are not up to par, so what do you think, casual or advanced?

If anyone is interested drop me a line in this thread or send me a PM and I will think up a plot for the game and start an interest check. Wheel of Time is a great setting with such dept and detail and I think that it is perfect for roleplaying in due to this detail and richness.

A Wheel of Time roleplay!? Yes please!

Also when it comes to post length, I prefer casual level but have Advanced level depth with characters and story

    (Minus the physical part *cough*)

Personally I often prefer longer posts, but not when there is nothing to say. I do like at least one paragraph, but more than that is not necessary. I will see if I can get a few more folks interested and get a RPG going.

Potentially interested. I can't fully commit at the time, but I love WoT (even if I've yet to finish it). I'll be keeping my eye on this to see where it goes.

Sounds good, if I do get enough interested to start up a game you are more than welcome to join it if you have the opportunity at that time.

That reminds me, we don't have to be completely up to date in the books, correct? I'm only about halfway through the sixth book now, but I feel like I know the lore of the world fairly well.

Ah, Wheel of Time. Sadly since Robert Jordan died I won't be finishing the books. I just really don't like the new ones for whatever reason. I guess it's just Sander sons style or something. I have read all the way through The Gathering Storm and halfway through the next one before putting it down, so I'd say I'm well versed in the WoT universe. It has been awhile though so I may need a refresher.

Since we will be playing 200 years before the start of the books no it is not necessary to be up to date on the books. I have not read any of Sanderson's books yet, I am planning to since I like the author but I am planning on doing a complete reread first. Like I said if you have a reasonable grasp of the setting that is enough, if you have played the D20 RPG game that should give you enough, if you have read a few of the books that is enough, or even having played through the computer game should give you enough. You do not need to be experts on the setting to play only be familiar with it.

I will try one more time and see if anyone is interested in a Wheel of Time RPG.

Now I have one going which is set 200 years before the start of the books, the basis of the game is a Aes Sedai hunting party which is going after a male channeler, I would love more players for that game since it have dwindled to me and two others. However if you would rather start a whole new game I can do that to, I just think it would be allot of fun to play in this setting.
