Depends on who's the better fight, has plotkai, ect. The stat's show who's definitively better in an area.

Just talk it over with the other RPer, possibly even write the fight with them collaboratively if possible. A fight can be incredibly complex with innumerable different factors going into it, so there's no real rule of thumb to go by other than 'stats and basic reasoning.'
