WELCOME ABOARD THE DISNEY FANTASY

This seaside adventure is a character driven game that follows the lives of entertainment employees aboard Disney's Fantasy. Each team member has his own story to tell, and together they all make the guest's experience nothing less than magical. These highly trained professional entertainers know the ins and outs of the ship. For six months out of the year, their lives revolve around this place. These are their stories. This is their reality.

For the sake of keeping the story going, I am only going to allow characters to have entertainment positions aboard the ship. This way, its more likely that paths will cross and the story will progress. So, following are the logistics of the game. All said, I hope everyone is still interested. Above all, have fun!

[CENTER]Name: Rudolph 'Ralph' Adams

Age: 31

Position: Casino Staff/Doubles as a Bartender

History: No one fell shortest in a family of overachievers more than Rudolph did. Born to a high-middle class family intent on getting everyone of their children into something that payed more than 100K a year, Ralph had it quite hard with his--in the least offensive term--mediocreness. That meant rigorous work from age 6 to 18, both unrelenting and god forsaking. It was a wonder when the family found out that Rudolph was more inclined to play sports or talk to people than he was locking himself into his room and studying for hours on end--researching useless info on Wikipedia was also an okay activity in the household. When the test scores got back, his parents were beyond ashamed and almost prejudiced against their son's lack of intellect. Of course, being the youngest of the household meant the older siblings were free to do as they wished with him. Since his siblings were among the higher tier of intellectuals in their age range, they did a lot more craftier and subtle things when picking on Rudolph, which ended in more humiliation than a beat down. Ironic, since his name reflected the fabled reindeer (did not think of that until mid-way through the history).

So, when Senior year came and all of his siblings were either getting their Bachelor's or Ph.D's, Ralph was left to his own devices. In other words, Ralph failed a lot of the tough classes his parents made him take, most of them being AP or worse, even despite the teacher's protest--the only people who pitied young Rudolph. It was no surprise when all the colleges he was told to apply to declined him. Why his parents made him apply to MIT, Yale, and Harvard was beyond him. There wasn't much else the poor boy could do, aside from possibly selling insurance or cutting hair or some menial task that he'd loathe to do. It was also no surprise when his parents decided to kick him out after high school, which sort of left him on his ass and forced him to learn how to fend for himself.

Luckily, working at a local fast food restaurant netted him enough money to buy a very small apartment, where he gladly staid for at least a year or two before he could safely move out of his hometown. He soon found various job offerings in the big city that didn't require a college degree, but paid enough to sustain one person in a small home. The slew of jobs did indeed include bartending and soon moved up to blackjack dealer at a local casino. He wasn't the best, nor did he really want to be, but it was a job and it sustained him well enough. That was, until he stumbled upon a job opening upon a Disney Cruise ship. The guy had been working for most of his life, so a vacation, even if he was still working, was rather needed and this was more than a good offer; it was practically a free vacation that also paid him.

Reason for Joining the Cruise: Needed to relieve the stress of city life, and always wanted to see the ocean. It also paid well, so it was a bargain.

Name: Holly Shepard
Age: 23
Position: Kids Entertainment Staff
-Work at your assigned camp, which you organize and plan (is not limited to a part of the ship...let your imagination run wild!).
-Run kids parties three nights out of seven.

History: Holly has had quite the upbringing living in the great city of New York with her parents and four younger brothers. Her family is not exactly what you'd call struggling, her father a very successful stock market businessman and her mother a prestigious Surgeon whom most of the other high class society trust. She was raised to be perfect however since her parents were so busy Holly even at a young age was forced to care for her siblings. As she reached High School she found she actually enjoyed taking care of her brothers and started making quite some money by babysitting for her parent's friends having sometimes 40 kids left in her care. She thrived with the non-stop action taking care of kids gave and her own unending energy played into it well. She graduated her preparatory school with straight A's and a 4.0 GPA. Her parents had high hopes and were disappointed when she told them that she wanted to be a teacher or at least have some impact in the lives of young people. They did agree however that she was good with kids and they supported her fully in what she pursued. Her history is full of nothing but whatever she wanted but as she started working with local school's and her degree she found that the world was indeed a messy place and she found herself in a scandal against another teacher whom she was working as an intern for. The teacher in question was arrested for abuse of a child and Holly was disgusted at not only how the New York board of education handled such a case but how other teachers reacted. She left the big city and with help from her parents moved to South Carolina, Charleston. She made friends quickly and was surprised to find the perfect job staring right at her from the harbor.

Reason for Joining the Cruise: To enjoy and explore the world while doing what she loves.

Name: Lucas Rhine
Age: 24
Position: Entertainment Staff/Gaston

History: Lucas's parents were somewhat unusual individuals. His mother was an art history teacher with an extensive knowledge of teas and his father was an auto-mechanic who once dreamed of being an Imagineer. Both of them supported whatever he and his twin sister, Nicole, wanted to do. It became clear over the years that Nicole was the brains of the operation, excelling in math and showing an interest in astronomy and physics, while Lucas was a bit of a ham. He was a dramatic child, and by the pre-teen years his enthusiasm for the spotlight mellowed out into a megnetic and versatile persona.

Lucas wasn't the smartest guy in school, but he was always rather well-liked. People thought he was witty and charismatic, and that coupled with his soccer skills ensured that most teachers overlooked his lackluster grades. Throughout high school, he performed in the musicals and plays but nearly always shied away from any dance-heavy roles. One would think that soccer would give a guy coordination, but even that couldn't get Lucas to be confident in his ability to do the Charleston. Throughout college Lucas made a bit of a name for himself as a local soul singer and released a few quick albums to be sold at coffee stores, but his life remained rather average. Taking up small parts in community theater and dazzling people on open mic night at his favorite bar got stale quickly for him and Lucas began to dream a little bit bigger. He hadn't been out of the country, besides a visit or two to Canada, and he did owe a lot of his interest in singing to the Disney films of his childhood and the leftover ambition of his father to be a part of the theme parks had not gone unnoticed, so he gleaned some information regarding being a character actor in the parks. There were no positions for him at the time but they were hiring people to work with children on board the Disney Fantasy.

For the first two years, Lucas worked in the Disney Oceaneer Club, where most new entertainment recruits end up. This year, however, his time spent acting out stories for the kids and a multitude of recommendations has landed him the part of Gaston. To tell the truth, Lucas is relishing the challenge of playing a villain as he signed up hoping he could have a shot at playing one of the iconic heroes of Disney legend, but the dim-witted arrogance of Gaston is a character he can really get behind for shows and he's sure it will be a welcome change in scenery to get out of the Oceaneer Club. He's not really a fan of the hair extensions he needs to complete his look.

Reason for Joining the Cruise: A consistently-paying job that would incorporate his flair for the dramatic with his love of travel. It doesn't hurt that he finds cruises quite enjoyable (the ocean's a good sleep aid) and getting away from his standoffish, intelligent twin for extended periods of time is a definite plus.

Years Working for DCL: 3

Appearance: He is a rather nice-looking guy and he stands around 5'9". He has dark brown hair that yields well to gel but has almost no form on its own and slate grey eyes. His skin has tanned nicely over his course on the ship, but because he was so light to begin with he's not exactly olive-toned or even distinctly bronze, so to speak. On occasion, he wears a wig to play the part, but normally he is just given a ponytail extension and his hair is gelled into a slight pompadour for his performances. Lucas's build is more akin to that of a runner, but he is able to fill out the costume and play a successfully swaggering Gaston without being a juggernaut.

Christie, yes, if you want your character to be entertainment staff, then she can be the assigned tinkerbell during the days. Just put it on your character sheet, and I will make sure it happens.

Name: Elijah Tipper
Age: 27
Position: Bartender

History: Both of Elijah's parents are from South Africa. His mother, a dark-skinned woman, married a white-skinned man and they had Elijah as their only son. They moved to America illegally in hopes for a better future for their child. Having lived all his life in Chicago with parents toeing the line of the immigration law, Elijah decided he didn't want to live in America anyway. He applied for work on the DCL while “making it work” in the Caribbean. A ship picked him up on their next stop through and he has been working with them ever since.

Reason for Joining the Cruise: Get out of America and make a living somehow.

Appearance: Mixed skin with brown eyes and short, curly, dark hair that never stays down. On the leaner side with surprising flexibility for a man. Stands just under 5' 9.

Name: Amy Pyre
Age: 25
Position: Cruise Director
History: Amy has the average upper middle class American history. She was the only child of a doctor and a homemaker (as in a stay at home mom). She went to private school from Kindergarten through college, and got her degree in hospitality to work for a place like The Ritz. Everything has literally been handed to her on a silver platter her entire life, and she has a hard time connecting to people who are unlike her as a result. She's not exactly spoiled, just high maintenence.
Reason for Joining the Cruise: After many failed interviews, Amy finally caved and "sold her soul" to the cruise world. She feels that this is below her abilities, though, and constantly searches for something else.
Years Working for DCL: Two.
Appearance: Amy is overweight, but not obese, and dresses very well. All of her clothes come from Neimann Markus, which she won't hesitate to remind you. She is short, standing at about 5'1". Her hair is shoulder length and box dyed an unnatural auburn brown color. She is naturally pale, but has gotten an awkward tan on only her hands, face, and neck from working in the tropics for two years. Her eyes are a muddled hazel color that looks more like the color of vomit than anything else.

Name: Olivia Constantinou
Age: 19
Position: Entertainment Staff, Esmeralda
History: Olivia was orphaned as an infant, and has been tossed around the foster system her entire life. She has a brother, but was forced to live in a different family from him since the beginning of her foster care, so she has no contact with him, and very few memories. Their pathes have only crossed a small handfull of times in her life. When she was 12, a caring foster parent placed her in after school dance classes. The elderly woman passed away when Olivia was 15, but Olivia had become so passionate about dance that in the next seven foster homes, she found ways to get into studios and classes for free. She turned 18 before finishing her senior year of high school, so Olivia never finished school or went on to college. While working in a dance studio, she learned about DCL, and decided to audition.
Reason for Joining the Cruise: She wanted an opportunity to get out of the ghetto.
Years Working for DCL: She is brand new. This will be her first term with the cruise line.
Appearance: Olivia is greek, with stunning olive colored skin and very long shining black hair. She does not have to wear a wig when dressed in the Esmeralda costume. Her eyes are so dark that many people believe they are the same color as her hair. Without looking closely, it is hard to see her pupils. She is medium height (about 5'5") and very slender from years of dancing. She has very low self esteem, and thus doesn't see the point in wearing makeup. She doesn't realize how naturally beautiful she really is.

Name: Susan Laurel Cooper

Age: 19 (she'll turn 20 after the first day on the cruise xP great bday present huh?)

Position: Entertainment, Tinkerbell

History: Susan was born and happily raised by her loving mother and father. Her school life was grand, all of her peers loved her peppy personality and listening ear. She gave wise advice and went out of her way to help others with their schoolwork, being as smart as she was, she got very good grades in all of her classes. Her favorite class was drama and she always went the extra mile to make sure she'd get the lead parts, which of course, she succeeded. Participating in all school plays and musicals as one of the leads, she knew her calling early on in life. Her parents were supportive, and payed her way through college where she improved her acting, dancing, and singing abilities.

Now a triple threat, she was unstoppable. Immediately after graduating, she was offered a role in an independent film that was to be viewed in a local film festival. Gladly accepting the offer, Susan played the lead alongside a man named Zack. As time went on, however, they began forcing her to do things she didn't want to. The film was slowly turning into a pornography. Susan got out of the situation as fast as she could to save her dignity and her reputation. Days later, she happened to run into Zack, who begged her to resume the film making with him. Refusing, Susan walked away from him. Zack screamed at her and punched her, knocking her to the ground. With tears in her eyes, she watched him run away, shocked that anyone would do such a thing to her. She never told anyone about the incident, but to this day she doesn't trust men, and has never been in a relationship with one.

Deciding to focus only on her career, she began auditioning for major roles in the local plays. It was a breeze, acceptance was always expected to happen. Her favorites were the Disney musicals she participated in, especially Peter Pan. Falling in love with the production as the role of Tinkerbell, she set off to find out how she could be Tinkerbell, and that is how she found out about the cruise. The managers instantly loved her, and thought she even looked like Tink, so she was accepted.

Nervous, yet excited at the same time, Susan was ready for this journey.

Reason for Joining the Cruise: To expand her theater career experience.

Years Working for DCL: This is her first year. She is replacing the last Tink who got into an illegal incident...

Appearance: Hrm... I shall give a picture and a description!

Susan stands at 5'1" barefoot and 5'4" with heels. Often seen in her Tinkerbell costume, since she is a day-long entertainer. In her bag she carries many vials of "pixie dust" and various snacks. A natural blonde, she has no need for a wig. Slightly above average in looks, but it is hidden under caked on stage make-up, which is required for photo-shoots and plays where bright lights would otherwise wash out her pale complexion. Her eyes are a bright royal blue. She has no tattoos or piercings. She is around 98lbs.
