Sophia walked down the street, “First of all, let me tell you the places you should never ever, under any circumstance, go. Powerplant. No no. Farm. No no. Ranch. Big no no. Got that so far?” She asked, but didn't wait for a response, “Water treatment plant. Absolute no no. Recycling house. No no. Alright, that's it for the don'ts. Places you are allowed to go are the Supermarket, the General Goods store, the gun shop, and either of the two restaurants. Don't ask me why one town needs two restaurants, I don't know. You can hit Mac's garage, but there really shouldn't be any real need to do that, unless you want to learn how to start building and maintaining machines with scrap. I do suggest you pick up a trade before you try leaving town, otherwise you'll be out in the wastes capless and starving, which doesn't do anyone any good.” She reached into her pocket and pulled out a small bag, then pulled a second, larger bag out of her duster. She poured a few bottle caps into her palm, counted them, and then put them in the little bag, “Alright. That's twenty caps. That should be more than enough to get you something to eat at either of the two restaurants. Toki's Old World Banquet or Lei’s Creature Feature. You might want to try Toki's since, no offense, you'd probably think the normal food we have up here is disgusting. Spend what you need and then bring the rest back, because you already owe me caps for gas.”

She shrugged a little to hitch up her pack, which was beginning to sag a little bit, “Okay. So. Like I said, I'm a scavenger, so I go out, find nice shiny things, and sell them for caps. I was out on a scav run when I noticed your little hidey hole getting ransacked, so I need to ditch these goods for some caps. And in case you're thinking about doing something stupid, like leaving town without me, you're under town arrest unless you're with me. You have a debt to pay, and I'm not about to let you go scampering off into the wastes to get killed before I collect. The guards are under order not to let you out of the town. I'd like to trust you, Sam, but I mean...gotta give me some credit. I don't know jack shit about you.” She said, giving him a shrug that said 'them's the breaks', “Daddy always said be polite, but Daddy also said don't stick your hand in a radsnake's den unless you plan on getting your hand bit off. Gotta cover my bases, mon ami. Gonna be at the General Store, pick a restaurant and I'll find you in a few minutes.”

It was then that she noticed the Pipboy on Sam's wrist. Uh, duh, “Hey, uh...that little bibelot on your wrist...does that come off? I mean, not to pry or anything, I've seen them before, but I haven't ever seen someone take them off. They like glued on or something?” Half-truths. Not a lie, but not the whole truth either. Mostly, she just wanted to know how to take the damn things off the now rotting limbs in her pack. She'd need a new backpack, no doubt, after this shipment of caps, but hell, this should keep her set for a long ass time.

“You better wiped that smirk off your face,” Reece uttered as he gripped the woman’s arm tighter to get her attention. Skye seemed to power ahead of them, walking rather briskly through the corridors towards the main quarter. Her face portrayed a stern look as her mind began to race about what to do next. They were defiantly going to go track that kid down but she was undecided on what to do with the people in the vault. She knew her boss would love some extra pair of hands around the headquarters, however right now she wasn’t a very happy camper and would rather get rid of them all. After all they did disobey her, and what do you do with people who challenge you? – teach them a lesson.

Once inside the main area, her usual wicked smile spread across her lips seeing all the vault citizens sitting on the floor in neat rows with their hands tide behind their backs. Most of them seemed to struggle to keep their eyes open as the gas was still irritating them. She stood in front of the group for a moment as her eyes trailed across the room to find that man who called out towards the kid. “Bring him along,” she ordered Reece and Max. Max being a much larger man than Reece let go of the woman and walked over to grab the man she pointed to and picked him up.

Skye then turned away and took a few steps towards the hallway that led to the control room before stopping in her tracks. She turned on the balls of her feet in the direction of where the Overseer sat, “Any last words?” She uttered as she pointed the barrel of her desert eagle straight at his head. Even though she asked him a question she didn’t wait for his answer. Within the few seconds of her pulling her weapon at him she fired a shot straight into his head. That’s the end of that!

There were a few gasps around the room but Tilly and Big X ensured that there would be no more rule breaking occurring. Skye signalled Reece and Max to follow, as they dragged their weapons into the control room.

Hearing the door open Lockie turned in his chair grinning brightly, “I found something you might like.” His smile slightly dropped seeing the rather pissed off look Skye was portraying as she walked towards him and took a look.

“Who is that?” She watched the woman begin to steal stuff of the dead bodies. It looked like they weren’t just after the kid but also a scavenger.

Sam kind of gave Sophia a worried look as she explained all the places he shouldn’t to go to the list seemed long, but he was sure he could just remember the three places he was allowed to go to. There were like three, right? He was ready to tell Sophia that he actually planned on returning to the vault after some time out in the wastes, but the mention of food took his full attention. His eyes fixed onto one of the restaurants that was just a walk away. He gave a silent nod to Sophia as she handed him a small sack of bottle caps. It was odd, but maybe the world had really gone to shit after all.

Sam was just about ready to head to one of the restaurants until he heard the scavenger’s next set of words.

“What?” He said with a confused look on his face. He thought she was kidding at first, but didn’t show any signs of doing so. He could have sighed, but he felt that he was sure he could get out of this debt, then out of this town, and eventually out of this wasteland altogether. He needed to give himself time anyway, so he might as well learn a bit about the outside. It might get him a new job once he returned to the vault. He could teach a class on survival and what to find out in the wasteland maybe. “Okay I’ll enjoy my…” He was cut off by her sudden inquiry about his pip boy. “Eh… Um… I’ll tell you how to get it off. It’ll cost you though.” Sam said with a smirk. Maybe he didn’t have to work too hard after all. “I’ll think about the price over a nice meal.” Sam said before walking away and to Toki’s Old World Banquet. The name was kind of catchy.

    --

Maria didn’t care what would happen now that she knew Sam would be long gone. The assurance didn’t stop her from tearing though. Her son had been so brave, but she just hoped he wouldn’t be too selfless. That cube was more important than even she or her husband knew.

Carlos just grunted as he kept his eyes shut. The tear gas was still messing with him, but it wasn’t as bad as before. He didn’t know what motive these intruders had in remaining in the vault. He thought they were after the cube.

“Carlos…” Maria whispered just before the Overseer was shot in the main chambers. The man had no words to say, and took his death with peace. “Oh my god!” She yelled before looking toward her husband who was pointed out. “Carlos!” She called before she would be somewhat reunited with him. He cracked his eyes open before being gripped up.

“Maria… Baby, what happened to Sam?!” He asked with a worried tone. The last thing he had seen was Sam making a run for it. He didn’t know whether his son was caught or got away.

“He’s gone…” Maria said as the two were dragged together through the corridors of the vault. “He’s safe.” Maria reassured herself more than Carlos.

“What about the cube?” Carlos asked.

“I think he has it, but he’s far away now. They won’t find him.” Maria said as tears still fell from her soft face.

“I hope so.” Carlos didn’t even care about the armed individuals in the room with them. In his eyes, these fools had lost. “Why don’t you just leave? Your cube isn’t here anymore! Just leave us in peace!” Carlos yelled. This wasn’t right… It wasn’t left either.

Sophia laughed as Sam began to walk off towards Toki's, “Kid, you have a lot to learn about this world up here, so here's lesson number one. When you have no food, no water, no place to stay, and no caps to buy any of the aforementioned commodities, and nothing to trade for caps for those commodities, you really should not attempt to barter with the person who is so graciously providing you a bed to sleep and food to eat without adding it to your debt, as I could be. I'm not a bad person, Sam...” she grabbed his shoulder and turned him to face her, holding the barrel of her revolver up to the bottom of his chin to show how very, very serious she was, “But do stay on my good side, would you, mon ami? Cause I've got a couple rules of my own. One, don't barter with me if I'm spending my hard earned caps on your ass. I could have left you back there in who the hell knows where, and I certainly didn't have to waste gas bringing you with me. Gas isn't exactly the easiest thing to come by out here, as you may have guessed. Two. I could very well make you sleep on the streets at night with the thugs, druggies, and dealers and leave you hungry, but I'm spending caps on you to keep your ass comfy and fed. Without adding it to debt. So when I ask you how to get the little doodad off your arm, you answer my question, oui? Three. I don't know what kind of man you are or what kinda you may think you are, but I guarantee you that any vault dweller training is nothing compared to what my Daddy taught me. I could snap quite a few of your bones before you even had time to ask me what the hell I was doing. Do not, and I mean do not, ever, think of me as any weird ass thing your male mind can come up with. Women and even men getting taken advantage of out here in the wastes is not uncommon. There are some sick sons of bitches out here. Hell, you might want to watch your own ass, because it's not uncommon for a kid like you to be some raider's pute...his eh...bitch. So it is not something you want to joke about out here, especially not to me. I know some sweet young ladies who got taken by raiders once, and by the time me and old Jeb got them back...I maybe wonder if we ought to have put them out of their misery...”

Her voice dropped with the last sentence and looked away guiltily, but her face became hard again as she pressed the muzzle of the revolver to his skin for emphasis, “Do you understand what I'm saying, Vault Dweller?” As she asked this, she pushed him back a little, taking the bag of caps from his hand and showing them to him, “Now, I'll ask you one more time. Doodad. How do you take it off? I've seen corpses with those things on them before, and those things are probably valuable. I've had to leave them behind before, but if you tell me how they come off, I would be a very grateful woman with a dirtbike. I might even be willing to bring you back to your vault once the debt blows over.” She said, knowing that what he'd see there...well, it probably wouldn't be pretty. Even if those people who'd assaulted it left them alive, there were still the repercussions of the dead already there. She had an idea that that probably wouldn't be the case. The most likely thing? Everyone in the vault long dead and raiders moving in and using the Vault as a holdout. It wouldn't be the first time something like that happened, and there were very few people in the world who would blow your door down, shoot some people, lose what they were fighting for, and not be even a little pissed off. She sighed a little and scratched the back of her head. Should she say something? She didn't know. It would only take a few days for him to pay the debt off, honestly, but for all she knew, the Vault could be slaughtered and the attackers already gone. She wished she had gotten a look at them, so she knew what she was up against, but she didn't so there was no use crying over it, “Once we get you situated, you can tell me what you know about the people who attacked your vault. Equipment, how they acted, stuff like that.”

"I don't know, but this Sheila sure seems to know how to get around without being noticed," Lockie uttered as his eyes trailed towards the man and woman who Max and Reece had brought along. He gazed back at Skye as the two citizens began to talk rather openly about what had just occurred and they even had the courage to mention the cube. Skye appeared to be preoccupied with the video footage to hear anything or at least thats what it looked like until the man named Carols began to yell. Her fist slammed into the table.

"Mate, I'm not fucking death I can hear you loud and clear...so please if you don't mind can you lower your voice or do I have to shut your trap for you?" She turned towards the pair with a smirk on her face. Even though deep inside she was boiling with anger and frustration she decided to not show this on her face as she saw it as a weakness. Sure They might've had a little hiccup but they weren't finished with this objective just yet. Skye took a step forward and snatched Max's rifle swiftly from his hand before smashing the back of it into the man's face. "To answer your question no we are not leaving. Just cause the cube ain't here no more doesn't mean we are just going to pack up and go, that's not how this works...and quite frankly we ain't those kind of people - come to think of it no one out there would be so nice and just leave peacefully...You should actually call yourself lucky because if it was anyone else you would be long dead...now can we get back to business." Skye didn't bother replying as she turned back towards the screen.

"Listen up boys, we are going to track that kid and his nosy girlfriend down and take back what is rightfully ours...anyone who gets in our way will take their last breath because We are going to get that cube no matter what..even if it means heading into the outback...oh another thing, shoot on site," she snickered. "So, let's get a move on...Max take these two prisoners back to the others...Lockie and Reece start searching for anything that could be urself up, maps, weapons you know them drill. Oh and also try get in contact with the hq cause there are some nice hard workers in this group that could be useful." The three nodded in agreement to their orders before moving off. Skye gracefully flicked her hair over her shoulder before following Max to the main quarter.

"Wow, now that your leader is dead you are actually behaving, to bad it's too late," she mocked as she strutted around the individuals sitting on the the ground with their hands still tied. "Round them up closer and put the explosive around, we don't want anyone getting away now do we." She made herself comfortable on top of a table as she watched her team mates do their job. Your gonna wish you didn't run boy!

    Rape Stare!

Sean listened to Sophia silently with his eyes looking down at the barrel of the gun she pressed against him. It was really uncomfortable, but he didn’t want to seem rude in front of the only person who was willing to help him, according to her at least. The last bit made him speak up though, almost forgetting about the cold metal against his soft skin.

“Wait, you think you can find a way to get them back if you know who they are? Like… You don’t have to, but I’ll fucking rip them a new asshole if you can teach me some things…” Sam said with an uneasy smile before his eyes landed on the sack of bottle caps. “Oh and the Pipboy 3000 doesn’t come off. I never heard of a way, but I don’t see why anyone would take it off. It does so much.” Sam said rambling, but he stopped as he figured his answer wasn’t the one she really wanted to hear. He was honestly afraid of the woman now, and there weren’t many things before today that put fear in the young man’s heart. “I’ll see if I can think of something over a good meal though… please.” Sam kept his uneasy smile up as he placed his hand on the sack of bottle caps. Wonder why she brought up the taking advantage thing… Did I do the rape stare again? Fuck!

"Huh..." Was all Sophia said in reply to the fact that the so called 'Pipboy' didn't come off. Bullshit. But she could tell the kid wasn't lying, at least. So he didn't know. She'd find a way. Otherwise, it was all a matter of waiting for the arms to decompose enough for her to clean them manually. She didn't like the idea, especially with the vault kid so close, but at least she didn't really have to explain anything yet; he didn't seem to be all too nosy about the bloody rucksack. Even so, she figured she ought to allay his fears, "Information is a commodity, Sam. Generally, anyone will be willing to pay for certain pieces of information. Never know when knowing something will get you some caps. Or a bullet in the brain. Either way, you ought to worry about other commodities first. Food, water, supplies, before you go bartering information...as you just learned." She said, making a 'C'est la vie' motion with her hands. She relinquished the sack of caps easily enough, "I'm just one girl, mon ami, but if you're really planning on getting yourself killed over what they did to your vault, I can teach you a few things about survival. Honestly, with these big type organizations and shit, they leave you alone if you leave them alone generally. I don't like sticking my nose where it doesn't belong, oui? I'd give up any ideas of revenge if I were you, Sam, and just worry about being alive out here. From what I can remember, there were plenty of dead bodies coming from the entrance to the vault. That's way more training than you have under your belt, and most likely more than I can teach you." She wasn't just being serious, she was trying to scare him shitless so he wouldn't do anything stupid. Lotta good people doing stupid shit out in the wastes, and many paid dearly for it.

She stuck her thumb up and over her shoulder, pointing to the general store, "Anyway, gonna hawk some wares. See if I can't get a good deal off some weapons and arms." Literally, or so she hoped. She left him to go do his own thing. She and Bannon would have to grab a back room. Wouldn't want the kid showing up while she was handling bloody arms of his fallen compatriots.

"I've contacted HQ, they will be here in less than an hour," Lockie stated as he stuffed the miniature keypad into his backpack before slinging it onto his back as he approached Skye. She nodded in response and then pushed herself off the table. Her dark brown eyes trailed across the room to assess how the rest of the team were going with their tasks.

"Five minutes and then we are out of here..." She strutted towards the people of the vault as they sat elbow to elbow next to each other, hands and legs tied and their mouth duck taped in order to prevent them calling out for help. Surrounding the individuals were a number of different coloured wires connecting to various small black boxes. "Citizens of Vault 991, I am truly sorry for the inconvenience we have caused you and so in order to rekindle our relationship I have decided to lock the vault door back up and arm it with explosives so that no raiders are able to enter and slaughter you whilst your waiting for my mates to come pick you up...see I can be nice!" Skye gave a wicked smile hearing some of her team snickering with amusement. "However, there is some bad news...even though I want to love you guys and be your best friend I have really bad trust issues, so....as you can see you are surrounded by highly explosive material, IF anyone steps onto OR over it - BANG it goes off and you will kill everyone inside - no joke." Skye spoke with a serious tone as she flung her hair over her shoulder. "One last piece of advice I will give you and that is that you better show more respect to my mates when they arrive because they are very trigger-happy...anyway enough chit chatting, I wish you all the best and I'm very certain we will meet again," she chuckled as she walked away from the group.

Skye pulled her hood over her head, and picked up her weapons and slotting them back in the correct holsters. The rest of the team gather near the entrance of the main quarters. They all made sure to cover themselves up and have their weapons fully loaded. "Ready?" Skye asked as she wrapped her scarf over her mouth to help cover up her face. Although the air had become less toxic than it once was it was no where good enough to although them to just walk around with their skin exposed. The team nodded before they made their way down the corridor to the entrance.

Once everyone was outside Max and Reece with all their might shut the large vault door before Lockie began to stick small bundles of dynamite onto it. He then connected it the four bundles to a detonator that required a six figure code to disarm. Tilly start to examine the tyre tracks and making note of the direction they were heading. "North..." She uttered. Skye just nodded before signalling the others as they began to move away from the cave and into the outback. The Australian outback is harsh and unforgiving, and even the most experience individuals can fall prey.
