    Mecha Academy Roleplay

I realy want to start a Mecha Academy roleplay :/
So im going to give it a go in the Interest check.
It will be set in the far away future and will be a student in the Academy of Iron located in a classified area around the mountains in Great Brittain.
Alien Technology has somehow started to appear all over the world around scavange sites where scientists try to find aincient Artifacts from previous human generations, A puzzle of technology all over the world starts to appear once George Skallre found a Godlike energy source given the name of '' The Core. ''
Once the Core was found futuristic Technology where slowly found all over the world. Several Hundered Years later Scientists together with world class engineer masterminds created replicas of the Core aswell as a Humanoid Vessel for the Core to be housed in.
The Core Replica Powers the Humanoid Mecha Vessel, which allows a untold ammount of power to surge through the Mecha giving it several abilities unknown to the current military technology. Now they teach this to High School students at classified Academies all over the world.
    -----
There are three Military Factions controlling the Earth of today, they are all advanced in technology, but they have there own styles.
Tanks are still in use due to there cheapness when you compare them to Mecha's.
    -----
A Consept shown by [Classified] shown the advantages with Surface Navy, Driven by Treads instead of naval proppellers.
There scale is larger by several hundered procent and there effectiveness is unlimited, the largest use of them is that they are amphibious
and can become naval vessels of giant scales.

The Largest Class is a Battleship, having a massive ammount of firepower and the largest scale of a surface naval vessel.
Then there are Carriers who are the secound largest surface naval vessel with the capability of carrying hundereds of Aircrafts, often seen at the far ends of the battlefield.

Tank plus Core Replica = Indestructotank

Normal tanks are still cheaper, though.

There have been papers on this... an aircraft-carrier can only service 60 or so planes in the air at a time before it has to dedicate the rest of its day to recieving casaualties.
-All it takes to figure this out is a stopwatch and knowing the rough endurance of an airplane.

Also, the weather confronting deck-ops is usually not anything like lake-placid.

Land on it, I dare you.

Coast-gaurd choper pilots usually have it worse, though.
    -So hats-off to them.

Due to the tanks general build and mass, the core replica will rip it appart.
Also the tanks building materials cancels out the cores energy spread through the metals so it will just rip to shreads, and making something with the capabilitiy of containing the core replica will cost more then a Mecha therefor they still keep with the general idea of 'tank.'
however there will surely be people who try to make several prototypal Core Replica powered tanks.
But even Mechas are extremely volatile, due to the Core Replica's extreme unstabality.

Well, I was figuring they'd use cores in tracked 'super-heavies' (anything in excess of 95 metric tons) to keep the ground-pressure reasonable. 10kg/cm^2 ~5

Or were you trying to say the thin-skinned limbs acted as radiators to keep the crew from being boiled alive inside? (Also, going 'all-external' with armarments)

So I was figuring a D-50G Lota except 1000% bigger (or a RMV-1 Guntank II... possably an RTX-440) and with stacked guided rockets like from the F-106 Delta Dart ('metal-storm' for you younger brats).

    Well let me say this:
The Metal limbs of the Mecha is created by a metal that lets the Core Replica let its energy surge through, without these limbs the energy would boil the vehicle and the pilots would most likely melt or something and the metals would indeed melt.

Btw the Carriers are Surface Naval Ships :P they are treaded. like tanks but alot lot lot bigger.
And Since its the future, they have more sophisticate landing methods.

Ah, so we're going into space, then. Where outside surface-area is more important than ambient tempratures because we cannot pump cold air in and hot air out like with a car or lawnmower engine. (Well, we can... but we'd have to haul that air with us; it's how the Apollo crews stayed frosty)

Yes, something with overbuilt legs and hands that can grab onto stuff and perform handstands will be very important in the wieghtless and above-all frictionless environment.

Command: Bounce yourself off that rock and flank their defenses. After that, we can all pretend the enemy gate is down and fall toward our victory.
-I personally do not like the idea of hitting an airlock face-first @ 100 kps.

Well, space.. or even trans-spacial close-combat makes sense for mechs.

Because over habitated planets, space-junk... space-junk everywhere...

And boarding-crews... well... when you blast a chunk off a ship out there it has nowhere to sink to... so the debris-field is going to get lulzy pretty fast... you'd want armor for hitting chunks like that and not being compelled to clutch your windpipe because it knicked your EV-suit.

And ofc... cost-saving measure to issue these to some of the ODSTs as well. Even though they aren't quite as epic here, they're nice in case the descent hits a foul-up.

You'll want to make carrier-landing simpler, not harder. Simpler than sttepping off the pier... which can get pretty hard if the ship pitches a fit... And at that point it's starting to be more like a troopship than a floating-barracks.

    Hello, I'm a hard sci-fi fan.

    Hi, I'm a Space Opera.

Space-combat theory taught planetside... then orbital... then orbital drop shock-tactics and a refresher in ground-combat with mechs that can jump into orbit...

    Sounds like fun.

A sub-orbital hulk-jump can pretty much land you anywhere in the world in less than 2 hours. Especially when you factor-in kinetic ground-penetration on impact to get inside bunkers.

    Then, there're Bolo-mechs.
    Yes, 500 km/hr... flight capable... 32k-tons.
