Alicia laughs and gives Verran a quick glance. "It was glorious... Peace and quiet, and nobody stealing my damn food!" She smiles at Jason's praise, tossing the icicle into a nearby wall without looking, nearly hitting and scaring the hell out of a 6th year boy. She then looks back to Verran at Jason's remark. "When we were kids, He would always be practicing that railgun thing of his. It was really amazing, He'd take a coin or a small bolt, and then he'd charge up his fingers and the next thing you know it was shooting across the English Channel faster then a train. Mom never liked it, said it was to dangerous. But Dad, he always got a kick out of it. He would take us to a military bombing range, a buddy of his would get us in, And Verran would shoot out targets miles away. He really is something..." As the words leave her mouth a small, long object shoots past the two at high speed with a trail of sparks following it closely. It sticks into the wall and it is revealed to be a fork. She immediately looks over to Verran with heightened irritation. He seems to be conversing with another student, but she knows to well it was his doing. "He's also an overprotective jerk as you've just seen.."

Verran watches as Tobi is dragged off, an eyebrow raised at Larkers out of pocket treatment of him. However he sighs and is somewhat startled by Trevor's hasty, and rather hodgepodge appearance and introduction. "Er.. Hey there Trevor, I'm Verran." He shakes his hand, and begins munching on Tobi's leftover fries. "So you're new here eh? Good luck with that. The new kids always get a rough time unless they're in with someone. Like my sister for instance." He gestures to her as she sits talking to Jason on the other side of the room, looking back and holding his gaze for a second, curious as to what Jason was doing with his underage sister, but decided to let it go for the time being. "As for the Bout, it's a sort of test here at Orchids. It's a battle tournament which allows us to mark our place. See, this isn't an ordinary school. There's a structure, a hierarchy if you will." He glances back at Alicia again, his curiosity peaking. "The Bout is what let's us climb that ladder, and gain higher standing here. The more battles you win, the more respect and perks you earn. The more you lose.... The deeper you lie in shit. Excuse me for a moment." He then picks up a fork and holds it between two fingers. He runs a current through them, and they glow white hot and give off a small buzz, sparks shooting from the center. The fork then shoots over between Alicia and Jason with a rather loud bang. Afterwards he turns back to Trevor, his demeanor unchanged. "Any other questions?"
