They did hit the nail on the head with the multiplayer. It's one of the few that require you to think.
It's the multiplayer. It has one of the best multiplayers that I've ever played, not toention that I'm decent at it, too. I just love how you have to hide, while finding and killing your targets, really gets your blood pumping.

I was totally disappointed when I saw the wolfpack thing in AC3. When I read about it and it told me it was going to be 'groups of players fight off waves of different enemies' I was ecstatic. HORDE MODE IN AC?!
But, no. It's just running around the map stabbing 2-3 people within a time limit.

Yeah, I always thought of the Brotherhood multiplayer as being some of the best and most underrated gameplay out there. Never played Revelations, but I hear it's the same way.
Not so fond of AC3, but I only played, like, two matches so I can't pass judgement.
Yeah, I didn't even hear about wolf pack till last second, so since I didn't do research on it, I got pretty upset when I found out what it was.
Multiplayer doesn't seem that much improved aside from animations, some useless customization features, a longer progression system (not better, yet). It doesn't even seem like it makes that much use of the engine, being not that much different than Brotherhood. I played AC:R's Beta on my PS3 for a month or so, then I wasn't really that entertained by it, so a year later I torrented the singleplayer for PC -- glad I didn't buy it.

Nonetheless, its multiplayer is still fun -- I just wish I didn't need to spend so much time before I can start customizing things that actually matter... like skills. I've clocked a couple hours on multiplayer, same game mode not really anything besides useless emblem/title shit unlocked.
We're not so different, you and I.
