Axel raised an eyebrow upon hearing her response but shrugged it off as he just walked calmly down the road. Even though Anne was skipping he was able to keep up with her. Things were quiet until she asked him about the Pokemon he owned. "Well I own quite a good amount back in Hoenn. Take forever to name them all. However as of now I only have two. I decided to start fresh when I arrived here and only brought the Pokemon I started with, which is Torch my Blaziken. When I first got here I caught a Pigdey. Now in a battle though. It kept following me after I fed it some food. So I just tossed a empty Pokeball at it and he didn't even fight." Axel explained.

Anne hummed softly for a moment, "A Blaziken and a Pidgey... Pidgeys are sooo cute, I'm going to work on catching one, if the opportunity arises!" She moved her hand to her belt, which had six slots for pokeballs, and they all were filled... even though with the exception of one, all the pokeballs were empty. "You're quite lucky, catching one so easy like that..." Her voice trailed off as she stared onto the distance, her lips slowly twitching into a wide, warm smile. "This is great, isn't it? It's so refreshing; the smell of adventure and all. I can hardly wait until I manage to catch my first pokémon, and hey, you will be there to watch!"

"Yeah, definitively a change of scenery. More land here than water. My Pokemon won't have to surf all the time." Axel began. "Well a Pigdey shouldn't be too hard to spot. They're really common here.....well you know that. It's catching them that's a pain in the ass. I remember the first Pokemon I caught. It was a Lotad, just outside of Petalburg City. Man was it a tough little guy. Just when I thought I had it, boom, it got out of the Pokeball. Took me the entire day to try and catch it. However it was a really good feeling when I finally did catch it. Like a huge sense of accomplishment."

Anne listened to the boy as he told his story, involving the first pokémon he caught. At the part when he said that just when he thought he had finally caught the pokémon but sadly it got out of the pokeball, a giggle escaped her. "I'm sure every catch is probably a sense of accomplishment. It's probably... an amazing feeling. I'm just feeling more and more excited to catch my first pokémon. It could be a Pidgey... or a Rattata! They're really common here, and I've seen a lot of young trainers with them. Ah, perhaps I could even venture into the Viridian Forest and catch something there. So many bug types, and I've even heard about Pikachus being spotted there, they're so cute."

"Pikachu's huh? You know that would be a good Pokemon for my team. They're real fast and just like you said, cute. I'll have to keep my eye peeled once we get the forest." Axel said. As they continued walking towards Virdian city a small bush Axel was walking by began to start shaking. "Oh what's this? It could be a Pokemon." He spoke with excitement. he began to ready his Pokeball with his blaziken in it. However it turned to just be a young trainer hiding awaiting for other trainers to show up. "It's...just a trainer."

"Ah ha! Thought you could get away. Which one of you's would to battle me?!" The youngster asked.

".....She would." Axel pointed to Anne. "She's new so she needs the experience."

Anne was so expecting as she heard that rustling sound in the bush. She had already readied her pokémon as well, biting her lower lip in anticipation. She was even jumping in place, slightly, leaning forward and back... But much to her disappointment, rather than a pokemon, what showed up was a young trainer, which seemed kind of overly excited as well, even went ahead asking which one of the two would battle him. Before Anne could speak, her little partner already backed away. Well, that was that, then! A battle was always good... except this would be her first one. Swallowing slightly, she nodded.

"R-Right! I'm up for a battle, kiddo, but you better not cry when you lose!" She readied her pokeball, pressing it's center as it expanded, then she tossed it up, the objecto pening as with a red flash of light, a charmander materialized itself, growling with a faint cry. "I still need to find a nice name for you..."

"Ah cool a Charmander. Pretty good choice for a starter." Axel complemented. He reach into his right pocket and got out his Pokedex. he pointed the device at the small fire lizard and scanned him. a few seconds later the Pokemon appeared on the right screen while all of it information appeared on the left screen.

"Ha! you think you can beat me rookie? I haven't lost a single match yet." The youngster replied with acting all cocky and what. "Go Rattata!" He shouted as he his Pokeball into the air. The pokeball popped open and a red light struck the ground revealing the small purple rat Pokemon. Like with Charmander, Axel got his data as well.

"Well then I guess I'll be the ref for this match." Axel volunteered. "I'm sure you both know. Last Pokemon standing wins. Lets begin."

"Right! Rattata, use quick attack!" The youngster ordered. Rattata charged at Charmander with incredible speed.

"Rookie?! Alright, alright, I might have just started but that doesn't gives you permission to call me a rookie! You're so losing this!" The girl seemed really enthusiastic now, even moving into a different stance, her hand held up in front of her as she stared at the boy with her eyebrows furrowed for the sake of a more serious expression. Once his pokémon was out, Anne just grinned... though she wasn't expecting the boy to order his pokémon to attack so quickly. The girl was obviously confused, "E-Err, charmander, use, uhh," It seemed her delay had resulted in Charmander taking the Quick Attack without any attempt to dodge, but the pokémon recovered quickly from the blow.

"Right, Charmander, use Scratch!" The orange-colored pokémon quickly charged at the purple rat, it's claws glowing slightly as it brought them down at the Rattata. Anne's eyes were extremely focused on the outcome of the attack.

The youngster Rattata took the scratch right it the eyes. The purple rat grunted a bit as it jumped back and trying to regain its sight again. Ah crap this isn't good. No way am I gonna have some rookie trainer beat me. The youngster thought. "Come on Rattata hang in there. Quick, use Sand-Attack!" He told his Pokemon. Rattata nodded still a little blind. He slashed his claws into the dirt and began creating a sand cloud towards Charmander.

"Well this is interesting. Sand-Attack's suppose to lower a Pokemon's accuracy. Wonder how she's gonna get out of this." Axel whispered to himself.
