Earth, 2558

For five months, rogue Covenant forces have battered Humanity's homeland. Much of the European Union lies charred under Covenant Glassing Cruisers and many civilians have been lost in failed evacuation attempts. Earth's MAC Defense Stations are crippled, with only a scattered few able to shell the Covenant armada. Spartan John-117 has been deployed in the North American Union, holding back Covenant forces in the sprawling metropolis of New York City. With their backs to the wall, Humanity has assembled teams of Spartans, ranging from IIs to IVs, to hold the North American Union and beat back the Covenant onslaught. Spartan Team Epsilon has been deployed at Forward Outpost Charlie just outside the NYC battle zone. Outfitted with two Spartan-IIs recovered from a recently discovered Forerunner Shield World and two Spartan-VIs from Crimson Squad, Epsilon is tasked with aiding the Master Chief's defense of New York and assisting in the UNSC's retaliation.

Hello! I am gearmaster, or Jake if you prefer, and I am itching for a gritty, end of the world scenario set in the Halo Universe. I will say that if you have yet to beat the campaign of Halo 4, then you may wish to steer clear, for I will be referencing the events which led to this assault. For those of you who have beaten the campaign, then I'm glad to have you. Those of you who don't care about spoilers, I will fill you in. Now, a little about me.

- I don't like it when people drop out on me unexpectedly. If you have a problem with the RP, are going to be busy, or just wish to drop out, PLEASE let me know. It's only polite to do so and I will treat you the same. I am a student so my weekday post count will drop, but my weekends are usually open.

- As for post length, I ask at least a paragraph or two. This is a High-Casual to Advanced roleplay and, seeing as we'll be playing two characters and playing out the fate of Humanity, details will be key. I also wish that you post at least once a day if possible, I understand that you can be busy, but if you take too long without letting me know ahead of time, I will drop you.

- I ask that you know a bit about the lore. Spartan-IIs do not show much emotion and aim only to complete the mission and protect each other. Helping civilians or small deployments are of secondary concern. Spartan-IVs will go out of their way to aid civilians, but will continue to keep their focus on the objective afterwards. I just ask that the person I am RPing with knows a bit about the fandom and if you have questions, feel free to ask. I admittedly know a lot about the universe.

- As for grammar, I expect you to be literate. We have spell-check for a reason, so utilize it. I don't expect your English to be Shakespeare-grade, nor do I expect you to use ridiculously big words. I just ask that you know basic grammar, use appropriate words, and have some resource for Military lingo, for I will be using it considering we will be soldiers.

- No god-modding. Also, I will be controlling John. If you have an idea relating to him, let me know and I will work it in.

Other than that, I don't have much else to say. Feel free to contribute to the plot in any way that makes sense, I'd love for my partner to expand on the story. I expect this to be a long-term roleplay, so I hope you are in it for the long run! PM me with the words Team Epsilon if you have read all of this and are still interested.

I can definitely do this. Just completed Episode 2 of Spartan Ops, finished Solo Legendary yesterday, and I'm still reading through The Thursday War (though I've read ALL books prior to that). I can do this. Only thing is, would you like to include Kelly, Fred, Linda? I've always wanted to see Chief reunited with them, and I can play any - I have a feeling they'll be included in Halo 5 and 6, anyways.

EDIT: And while I'm always up for OCs, are canons allowed? Not going to lie, I think I can play a mean Sarah Palmer. She's a great character, and I am a fan of including multiple characters from the stories - both original and existing.

I wish I was skilled and had enough patience for Legendary, only done Heroic. In case, glad to see you are interested! You are slightly ahead of me in knowledge, for I have yet to read Glasslands or The Thursday War (Haven't had the time). As far as the rest of Blue Team is concerned, I'm sure we could work them into the story. Most likely John will link up with them in NYC, with Epsilon assisting them. We could split the roles I suppose. Having claimed John already, I feel it is fair to allow you to pick the Spartans of Blue Team you wish to roleplay. Now, do you wish to play out John's reunion with his squad before or during Epsilon's story? I feel that during the story will bring in too many characters to keep up with.

I suppose we should establish if Infinity will be around during this whole situation. Like I said in my edit, which I think you missed, I'd enjoy playing Palmer most of all if I had to bring any canon character in.

As far as canons go, I am okay with that. There are certainly key characters to the story and with the Spartan-IVs on the scene, Palmer is likely to appear. As for Infinity, I would say she'd be present. The Spartans would rely on her for orbital support and her impressive arsenal would prove useful in orbital defense.

Regarding canons, I gave Fred, Kelly, and Linda some thought and I say they wil make appearances, but to avoid a vast number of important characters they won't be as frequently seen. Neither will John, for Epsilon may be tasked with a different objective than Blue Team.

Alright, I suppose Palmer may be seen frequently, as she's the boss. Not necessarily in person, but over the comm if nothing else (unless Epsilon is her personal squad, which I doubt). But yes, that sounds good. She may just be tasked with aiding the Chief personally, and will go when he does.
