Ann grew up in France with her mother, father, and twin brothers. Being the oldest sibling she helped her mother raise her younger brothers. She grew up in a pretty sheltered life, never venturing far from her home unless it was to make trips to the market to by food for their family, unlike her brothers who liked to run around the city causing all kinds of problems for people. Unfortunately her happy little family didn't last. When she was 16 Her father was out one night in a bar meeting some friends to discuss some sort of business. On his way home he was murdered, and no one even say the culprit. After that, her families life just got worse.
Only a few months later, her brothers were playing on the rooftops of the city at the age of 13. One slipped, and fell to his death on a pile of crates. Unable to cope with the loss of a son and her husband in such a short amount of time, her mother quietly passed away shortly afterwards, the doctors said it was due to stress on on her heart. Her mothers death finally caused something to change within her. She wanted that man who ruined her families lives blood, and she was going to find him, and kill him no matter what it took. Still being considered a child, she and her brother were sent to live with a relative in the countryside a France. She never made it though, as she slipped away leaving her kid brother behind and stayed in France.
2 years passed with her living on the streets in France. During that time she had picked up how to pickpocket, fight with her hands, and had a reputation for being one of the best free runners around. Two years of trying to find the man that had killed her father, the man that she considered ruined her life. He was the responsible for the death of both of her parents as far as she was concerned, and she would have placed blame on him for her little brothers death had it not been a horrible accident. She had all but given up hope of ever finding this man until one day she was contacted by someone saying they knew who killed him and would like to meet her.
They met, and the man told her things. Told her he was part of a secret group of people, the Templars. Said her father was one of their members too, and was one of their greatest men. He told her that the man who had killed him was from a group known as the Assassins, and that the Templars were at war with them and if she wanted too, she could join their ranks. All she would have to do is kill the assassin that killed her father. She accepted almost Immediately.
With a full 2 years of training, Aldric, the Templar finally decided she was ready to try and find him. The Templars have been trying for years but had been unable to find him. After a few months of extensive searching, she found him and confronted him against orders. Needless to say, she got her ass whooped. She expected to be killed, but awoke later in the assassins home. She was confused at first, as to her, this man was the enemy, the one who caused her so much pain. Yet he had spared her.
He talked and spoke of the templars true intentions, of what they were doing. Basically, everything Aldric had left out about their little order. It was difficult to believe at first, and she was surprised when he asked her to join the Brotherhood. She was conflicted, as ever since she had been first told about the Templars and Assassins, she had held a deep personal hatred for them. Even though the truth had been revealed to her she was still having difficulties letting go. However, she hated being lied to and used like that even more. She simply agreed so she could get at Aldric for using her, and made it very clear that once Aldric was dead, she would be done with them. The assassin, Afif, gave her more training that would be better suited for her hunting of the Templars. She trained again for another two years under the Arab Afif. Unfortunately, on the day that Afif was formally accepting her into their order and gave her her robes and brand, Aldric found them and killed Afif, and said that for her treachery she would be killed too. With his last breath, Afif instructed her to go to London and seek out the brotherhood there, if she truly wanted to help get rid of the templars.
Not having much of a choice, she left immediately. Before she did though, she made a vow that she would kill Aldric one day, and she plans on seeing that through, no matter how long it takes her.
