The argument was never anything to do with killing redcoats, it was to do with the massively biased 'America is always right' sentiment that the trailers portrayed (the game itself wasn't very bad).

What I loved about the game is that Ubisoft was clearly afraid to insult people by claiming the British were the Templars in the story, yet every single Templar you kill is either from Britain or is a redcoat soldier/officer. Plus whenever you see 'Templar fort/templar control/templar this/templar that' it's always the redcoats.

That's not the point. The point is that you never saw Templar colonists... as if they were portrayed as the 'good guys'. As I said, biased as shit. It doesn't bother me much because they're just pixels, and frankly it's exactly the same in terms of gameplay whether you kill people in blue or red coats, so fuck that, it's just the implied 'These guys are good because this, this, this' shit that Ubisoft spouts.

Pretty much this. I was really optimistic about the game actually being able to handle these things with some maturity until I saw shit like that one cutscene that happens when you capture a fort, and Connor changes the flag to a colonial one as the redcoats are led out. Lolrly?
