Whatever happened, Mathras was either not paying attention or not entirely able to comprehend what was going on either. He was speaking the common language of his land when he hit the snow, but perhaps something changed when he came into the village?

Mathras watched the doctor and self-consciously looked over his own wardrobe-- there wasn't anything wrong with it to him, anyway. Wizard robes are rather warm and comfortable... and the cloth pants and tunic and leather boots were perfectly normal, though apparently not here. The armor Mya wore was much different than the steel plates he was used to seeing soldiers in. Wait a minute, was this woman a soldier? Was that even a thing? He blinked at her once again, but shook his head and tucked the thought away for later.

When he looked back up at the doctor, Mathras answered, "Evanhearth. I'm from Evanhearth, a coastal city."

He shifted his eyes aimlessly around the room and shook his head gently, slightly distressed "But... I don't believe that's as important as where I am now. Where am I?"

Mya brushed her blue armor, and sat calmly down on the straw mat.

"Evanhearth?..." The doctor said as he looked to the side, wondering about the name. "Sounds foreign...unlike anything I've ever heard before."

Mya sat there and thought to herself. "Things don't make sense."

"A couple of the countries are at war..."the doctor said. "They're fighting for a fabled 5th country called "Yellow Dragon." It means "Earth" or the "center", but the meaning is vague. Everyone here assumes it means fighting for the land." The doctor poured more soup into Mathra's bowl and put his hands together thinking.

"Mya is a soldier, but she's mainly for defense for our country. Our country is at peace you see...or it seems like it is."

Mya looked at Mathras. "You're at Hunan Province, Winter country. Each country worships their own god, which probably causes trouble if one is prideful. But our God is the Tortoise God. It is fabled that these gods created the land. Hunan Province is pretty big, we're in the south of the hills, in a village called Mei."

As he partook of the soup, he listened to their words. In between he agreed with Mya, "No, it doesn't make sense. Only a few minutes ago I was in my own home," and then a few moments later he blinked at Mya and the doctor when the doctor confirmed she was indeed a soldier. He would've usually addressed it, but he decided to leave it alone and bring his thoughts back to where they all were.

Mathras had studied geography of his own world long enough to know the provinces, countries, and kingdoms apart of it. In no continent, or island, was there ever mentioned a 'Winter country' or 'Hunan Province'.

Mathras put his fingers through his hair and scratched his head as he sighed inwardly, "If Hunan Province is big and I've never heard of it... then..." Mathras frowned as the truth dawned on him, "I don't think I'm on Tethaudon anymore."

After that realization, the thought of whether he would ever actually get back came into mind. Given, Mathras didn't have a lot that he'd miss back home, since all he had was a house and his collection of reagents... he had nobody to go back to and his family was fine on their own without him. No close ties, so it wasn't terrible... maybe there was opportunity in these lands? New reagents that do not exist elsewhere, perhaps? The thought gave him hope, but he had a feeling he did not truly belong here.

Mya looked at Mathras and pondered his words. "What do you mean you were 'in your own home'? Teth-au-don?"

The doctor gave Mathras a big stare in the face and rubbed his beard. "I've never heard of Tethaudon before, but that could be some town or village I've not ever been to before...so..."

Mya stared at Mathras as he was in thought as well. "I've not heard of it either. It sounds a bit foreign don't you think? Although I have not explored the whole world, that's for sure."

Mathras shook his head and waved his hands, "No, you misunderstand-- Tethaudon is the land I come from... it's... literally the name of the world on which I live."

By the way they responded to Mathras mentioning just that, he knew he was no longer anywhere near home. 'Great, I'm an otherworlder now... first time for everything I suppose.'
