Name:
Lance Quinn
Appearance:

Lance stands 6'4"
Age:
18
From:
Dewford Town, Hoenn. His father travelled a lot and was a successful Pokémon combatant, but Lance found a strange love for the Pokémon contests almost more than the battles when he got to travel around Hoenn to watch his father battle.
History:
Lance grew up in the sandy town of Dewford and was quite familiar with Pokémon from an early age because of his family being friends with the local Gym leader Brawly. His father was an avid trainer in his own right, and often went off travelling the country and world to battle in various competitions, and would try to bring Lance and his mother along with him whenever he could, and as such Lance got to travel a lot from an early age because of this.
When Lance was six and was playing around pretending to be a Pokémon trainer like all the kids did, he ended up wandering into Granite Cave and got attacked by a startled Zubat. It was at this point a Makuhita showed up and threw rocks at the Zubat until it fled, then helped Lance up. After that day Lance often went to visit his new friend in the cave and share food with him, a bond between them developing quickly. Lance travelled to Slateport City to watch his father battle in the gym there when he was 12 and his father decided to give him a taste of a wild battle, and took Lance up to Route 110. They encountered an Oddish and Lance’s father taught him some of the strengths and weaknesses of particular Pokémon types. When the Oddish had taken a few hits, Lance’s father gave him the pokéball to throw, and thus Lance caught his first Pokémon. Nimh and Lance became good friends, and would often accompany Lance to visit Makuhita, the two Pokémon bonding just as well as Lance did with them, and in the years that followed the three of them became inseparable.
The first experience Lance had as a Pokémon trainer was when a passing trainer thought Mac, as Makuhita was commonly referred to by Lance, was his Pokémon as well as Nimh and challenged him to a fight. They were successful against the first Pokémon only out of luck before Mac and Nimh was knocked out by a Pidgeotto, after which Lance took them both to the Pokémon centre. Brawly was aware of what had happened and decided to offer Lance and the Pokémon some training so that they could stand up better in a fight, which they readily accepted.
When Brawly had taught them what he could, with the permission of his parents he successfully helped Lance enrol into the Academy. Upon being accepted into the Academy, Mac was more than happy to accompany Lance as one of his Pokémon, a fact that Nimh was just as happy about as Lance was, glad to have his old friend along for the ride.
Personality:
Lance is rather sharp and charming, and while genuinely a nice guy, does fall prone to using such traits to his advantage. He’s rather accepting of most people’s walks of life, but one thing he is curious about is what drives people to join the criminal Teams despite such bad raps, and it is something he looks into a lot. He is curious by nature, and his pokédex has always been his best friend (excluding actual Pokémon and people) because he likes to use whatever he can to his advantage, in case something unexpected occurs.
He finds himself caught between two places when it comes to other people. On one hand he is very social and friendly, but often he prefers to be on his own, unless he’s met people he can consider true friends to hang around with. His biggest fault is probably his pride, because he knows he is good and has strong characteristics, but he is often able to keep that under wraps. However he tries to never underestimate someone in case they pull something unexpected out on him.
He gets rather annoyed when people compare him to the great Champion Lance from the Elite Four of Kanto and Johto, and so often introduces himself as Quinn instead to try and avoid that.

Other:
When on holiday to the Unova region he had a bad experience with a Trubbish he didn't realise was a Pokémon, and it ended up attacking him and hurting him quite badly. He has been very cautious around them ever since. He is also rather uncomfortable in the sea, disliking the deeper water and some of the bizarre things found under there.
Pokémon 1: “Mac” Makuhita
Personality: Mac is a rather content and proud Pokémon, always willing to stand in the way of danger for Lance or Nimh. He has an older brother mentality to Nimh, and enjoys a bit of a hit and run style tactic if he isn’t able to fell an opponent in just one or two strikes.
Moves: Arm Thrust, Vital Throw, Fake Out, Focus Energy, Sand Attack, Dynamic Punch
Item: Black Belt
Pokémon 2: “Nimh” Oddish
Personality: Rather carefree and seemingly ever-happy, Nimh often plods along at his own pace, taking any opportunity to splash in puddles with glee or eating anything that smells remotely edible just to see what it is. While Nimh normally handles defeat of himself or Mac well, if someone is treating his friends badly he changes a lot and becomes incredibly defensive of them, assaulting targets with fervour, before abruptly changing back to his carefree state once the threat is gone.
Moves: Absorb, Toxic, Acid, Stun Spore, Sweet Scent, Razor Leaf
Item: Miracle Seed
