How easy is it for you to make characters?

As the question states, how easy is it for you to make the characters you role play with?

For me, it all depends on whether I have the idea in my head already, and if the words come out on the screen. Sometimes, I will get it done within hours, and have a beautiful masterpiece that everyone can jizz over. However, there are times I find myself struggling to just come up with simple personality traits. Sometimes the trouble comes from trying to get a simple idea fleshed out. I do think it's different for everybody, but we can all agree that it's a similar experience no matter who you are. I just know I hate it when I can't get the idea out as quickly as I want.

I do think some characters are easier than others. When you make your characters for RPs that are about Anime or Video Games, I think it's a bit easier than making one for, let us say, a space or political rp. I don't know if it's the same for everyone, but I just know that's how it is for me.

Relatively easy. I mean if there isn't a concept floating around, I'm not joining the RP to begin with. Things tend to flow for me.

Except nation rp's. Kad's systems constantly force me to make choices, which is good but not always easy (and writing the fluff afterwards...)

I used to be able to churn out characters with ease. But as time goes on, I've found myself having a harder time. :/

I find it completely trivial to come up with new characters. This may be a consequence of my heavy nation RPing where I create and discard characters like Confetti.

But as an example, for Brovo's "Legends of Renalta" I have no less than four character concepts waiting in the wings to be used if my current character/s get killed off. It has several positive effects. The first is simply that I'm no so attached to a character that i'll be overly offended/worried/rage-type if they're killed off. "Oh X has bitten it. Y's up next." The other is that I can ensure a flow of ideas.

The downside is that since you're less attached to a character sometimes playing that character can be frustrating.

Assuming I care enough to bother in the first place, very easy. If I'm in that state where I'm all "Eh... I don't know" then character creation isn't easy, and at that point I don't join the RP 'cause I'm clearly not interested enough.

To me, making a character is quite easy, actually.
I believe that the difficulty to make a character depends on that person's imagination.
However, I can be affected by my mood when i'm making a character, for example, if i'm in a sad mood my characters and the actions that I do in a thread or a game is affected by that sad mood of mine.
TL;DR It's extremely easy to make a character for me.

    Really easy.

The most effort I put into making a character is actually just putting it to a sheet.

    Otherwise things just flow.

My biggest difficulty is in the wording for personality, not being bored by appearance and not going overlong on the histories. Sure, I can be concise, but occasionally I really don't want to, and if I start out detailed, I've got to finish detailed too. Loooong histories get written slowly.

The other trouble is if I hesitate to be confident that I understand the world I'm putting the character into, or the character someone wants if I'm making a taylor-made. At that point, I just pester people. Usually, they put up with it.

As long as I like the setting or the RP the character will be in I actually find it pretty easy. If I'm really enthusiastic I can easily throw up a large CS, in fact in my CS thread I have a character that I made for a full RP I wouldn't join but I liked it so much I made a character for it, it came out massive.

My problem is if I'm not interested in something I give up, I don't want to know. So if I really like something I will go to the ends of the earth to make my character, if it's something just on the side it won't be anything spectacular.

I do think that the hardest part is history though. Some people don't care others want a full story for your character.

The process is really simple people just tend to put to much thought into it. It takes an hour to come up with an idea and a decent length sheet. After that come back to it bit by bit over the course of a day at most and the sheet can be pages long in size an and the character detail can cover ridiculously small things that most people just never think to add. or if your really like me and whenever you are really bored you make a character for no specific reason, setting or campaign and then save it to your computer and rip them down whenever you need them.
Bloody hell I must have at least a dozen saved on microsoft word and variou websites that will never see the light of day.
