Easy. Because I create simple characters and let them become complex through relationships with others and going through a series of successes and failures in the RP itself.

    Sometimes they die.

    Other times they live.

All good to me either way.

I dont' feel like putting a character into play without constructing its whole background first. So in that sense hard.
Yet I'm easily inspired to do the background, so it could be yes
Perhaps when is required for the character to have powers I have more trouble, while deciding the powers.

In my case if a concept doesn't pop into my head when reading an OOC or IC thread I won't join the RP for the most part, though I have made exceptions in the past. In those exceptions I needed to dredge a character idea out until something solid took shape. Usually though most of the character comes together easily, personality, looks, quirks.

History is the one area I sometimes struggle with, I c an envision a character and know how they will react without fleshing out where they came from in any sort of detail most of the time. Sometimes crafting a history around the concept I have is like trying to haul water in a sive, other times I can flesh out a basic layout and very rarely do I actually flesh one out in detail on a sheet.

Somewhat easy, and it takes half an hour or so for a CS.

Generally pretty easy for me, but it all depends on those variables of RP type and whether or not I'm in a writey mood. Yes that's a word I just made up, shush.

The only things I have issues with are the name and character appearance if I'm using an image rather than text description. For pics I generally make a character then go look for an appearance, so I run into the issue of trying to fit a random image to my character; I can bypass this issue pretty easily by looking for a bunch of images that suit the general idea then picking one before I get to writing the sheet. For names I just... I dunno, I have issues with names. Sometimes I'll spend as much time deciding on a name as I do writing the rest of the character sheet. I have no good explanation for this, I'm just ridiculously picky with names.

I usually have no problems with the personality and history stuff at all. They just come easily once I've decided on a character concept.

Yes, but some GMs specifically say they want an image for character appearances. Otherwise I'd just stick to text most of the time.

Making characters is actually a relatively simple process for me, I can create hundreds in a day but making them presentable and ready for application is another matter. I fidn that I lack the commitment and interest in writing and filling out CS sheets to really portray my characters effectively. I think it's because I have my character already in my head, I want to write from them rather then about them.

How is that lazy? I'll spend 3-4 hours looking for the perfect picture to nail my character versus the half an hour it takes to write a general description.

Pictures and text description are just personal choice. Nothing more.
